Arrgghhh!! So, I am trying to get all my coins transferred from Coinbase to my Trezor wallet. I'd previouslly read that Trezor supports 1600+ coins, but apparently some of what I consider the most important or "quality" coins are not supported like AAVE, Polygon, Band, etc. I am really not one of those that likes to have coins and wallets all over the place. My questions are:

1. Since I cannot send my AAVE, Band, Polygon, etc to Trezor what other hardware wallet should I look into? Should I go with the ledger wallet? I really don't want to, lol

2. Is there a way on Trezor's user interface you where you can see all the coins you've transferred there WITHOUT going into separate wallets? Since I'm hodling, my fear is forgetting about some of my coins (I know that sounds kinda irresponsible). As it is now, I have to go to one wallet to see my ADA, another to see my XLM, another to see my ETH, and so on and so on...I'd like to be able to see everything I've transferred there at a glance (just a list of what all I have), EVEN IF I have to go into the other the wallets to see more detail, if that makes sense...

3. Why is it that google gives you a list of the 1600 coins, but you can't see most of them on Trezor's actual site?? On the site, you can only see about 16 coins listed; If anywhere they should be listed there. The site doesnt even have a way to search for other coins...

I am not Trezor user but I think that Trezor fully  supports ERC-20 tokens like what you have mentioned. As far as I know, just like every other ERC-20 token wallet, you need to deposit your token to the Trezor's ETH Address as your recipient. Once the transaction has been settled, you need to manually add the contract address of the token that can be found using coingecko

As an example. BAND Protocol has a contract address of
Code:
0xba11d00c5f74255f56a5e366f4f77f5a186d7f55

Quote
3. ...but you can't see most of them on Trezor's actual site??
You can see the full list on their website.

More precisely, Trezor supports +1600 coins and tokens. There is a difference. Ether (a coin) is supported together with many of its ERC-20 tokens. I just checked both Trezor's and Ledger's website and this is what I could find:

  • Both Trezor and Ledger support AAVE. The coin is supposed to be transferred to your ETH address because it's an ERC-20 token.
  • Polygon or Matic is also supported on both hardware wallets. Search for Matic on Trezor's site, not Polygon.
  • I think neither of the two wallets support BAND.

1. Since I cannot send my AAVE, Band, Polygon, etc to Trezor what other hardware wallet should I look into? Should I go with the ledger wallet? I really don't want to, lol
Have you considered MyEtherWallet as a place to store your ERC-20 tokens?

About Matic, that totally depends. The ERC20 token is supported by Trezor obviously, however, if he's looking to use the mainnet coin (which I believe is the case here), then he'll have to do some extra work by first connecting his Trezor wallet to MetaMask and then adding the RPC and changing the network.

I would not waste my time with bunch of those coins but both Trezor and Ledger are supporting erc20 tokens like Aave and you can probably connect hardware wallets with Metamask and store this tokens there.

2. Is there a way on Trezor's user interface you where you can see all the coins you've transferred there WITHOUT going into separate wallets? Since I'm hodling, my fear is forgetting about some of my coins (I know that sounds kinda irresponsible).
Using Trezor Suite with your hardware wallet you will see all coins you own in your account and you can have multiple accounts created and you do need to enable coins in settings.
Best way is to keep separate portfolio app and reduce the number of coins you hold.

3. Why is it that google gives you a list of the 1600 coins, but you can't see most of them on Trezor's actual site?? On the site, you can only see about 16 coins listed; If anywhere they should be listed there. The site doesnt even have a way to search for other coins...
Most of those 1600+ coins are erc20 tokens, and you can easily search all supported coins on their website, and similar thing is for ledger hardware wallet:
https://trezor.io/coins/
https://www.ledger.com/supported-crypto-assets

I am really sure you can't in Ledger also. Just change the way, if you connect using a suite or live application you will get less of the token. you have to use software with support those token which can connect your Hardware wallet.

Thank you so much for answering; Thank ALL of you!
Let me make sure I understand correctly. They are called "ERC-20 tokens" because they are on ethereum's blockchain...And I can use ethereum's "receive" address to transfer these ERC-20 tokens from another exchange or wallet because of that. And is it correct that Etherscan is the appropriate site to use to confirm whether a token is an ERC-20 token? And what would happen if I accidently send a token/coin to the eth address and it is NOT an ERC-20 token?

Remote Procedure Call but that's not important. If you just follow the tutorial and understand how to add and switch between the networks, you will be fine.

If you were using an exchange, you'll have to choose the network that you want to send the funds through. MRC-20 (MATIC), ERC-20 (ETH), BEP-20 (BSC) etc. Same thing applies when dealing with other people.

Now if for example, you mistankely sent USDT over ERC-20 instead of Binance's smart chain's, then all you have to do is change the network in order to see the funds. The funds will be accessible, just not in ethereum's blockchain and the next time you send them, you have to make sure that the recipient accept the same network that you're using. If you have funds in BSC, and you send them to an exchange that only supports the ETH network, you'll lose the funds because you don't have control over the private keys of the exchange address.
