Hi, I have been eyeing an L3 for a while now, and found "New L3+ for around 1k".

My question is: Are there really new L3 in the market now or its just a gimmick to get me to pay more than "Used" one?

Because used one goes for a lot less than this but they "can't" guarantee how long it will work for, while the new has a 6 months warranty.

Thanks <3

Be very careful, there are quite a few red flags:

- new
- alibaba in general (unlike aliexpress there is no money back guarantee)
- price is about what is asked on aliexpress for used ones

If you carefully change 2 fans in the ASIC and clean it from dust, it will be difficult to find that the ASIC was used before.
Now there are a lot of large farms in China, so mining equipment is also sold on trading floors.
I am sure that in the near future there will be a lot of interesting proposals.
I think you've heard about the new Litecoin / Dogecoin L7 ASIC.

Definitely valid points, as for the scammers in general I made sure to contact a seller with good reviews, trade assurance and even looked online outside alibaba and found couple of people who ordered successfully from them. Doesn't eliminate the risk but minimizes it for sure.

I find Aliexpress very expensive, reaching ebay level or prices asked.

True, I'm aware if the L7, is your concern on the difficulty increase or that the L3 prices might go down in once the L7 hits the market?

I'm not looking for large farm, just a couple or miners or so and maybe build slowly as I go.

People needs to stop using that Alibaba, it's not safe for new online shoppers better stick with AliExpress instead, there are some features available when purchasing stuffs on AliExpress that will guarantee you of getting your package and also getting refund if anything goes wrong, this isn't available on Alibaba

If you are usa based I can sell you used and tested l3+ with psu for about 800.

The L3+ has not been built by bitmain since 2018.
Most likely it is a cleaned up unit.
Most likely the warranty is not real. It is based on the word of the seller not on bitmain.

If everything went according to plan, then in a couple of months new ASICs would be installed in large numbers on Chinese mining farms and you would see an increase in the hashrate.
If you need multiple ASICs, I would start looking in the local market or nearby in large cities.
The low price only indicates that the ASIC has already been used

Id be very cautious of New L3's... ive gotten offers for new l3's with warranty too  Roll Eyes
there is a very slim chance you somehow found a whale who btfd when l3's were like 50 bucks a set and kept them in store room only to realise theyre worth some money now...but it'd be like less then 1%
The more likely scenario is that you are being ripped off.... doesen matter on what aspect but its probably a dishonest tactic and i woulden even take that sellers word for delivering a working product....
