In the process of restoring my electrum wallet

Yes I have the 12 word phrase, that is a definite. I did not mention the 12 word phrase because I was unaware I had it.

The what looks like a "web address" to me is the "phrase" "string of words separated by a slash / user/home/electrum/wallet/....this I thought was the seed phrase. Is that the extended Phrase Charles-Tim was speaking of?

Either way, it sounds like I am good to go with just the seed to restore my wallet. Yeah, I just want to make sure everything is correct, who wants to lose money unnecessarily, any amount.

from your post history it seems like he was talking about a "passphrase" which you use to extend the words you already have. what you posted looks like a directory where the electrum wallet files are stored which has nothing to do with that.

Either way, it sounds like I am good to go with just the seed to restore my wallet. Yeah, I just want to make sure everything is correct, who wants to lose money unnecessarily, any amount.

you won't lose your money as long as you are using the real electrum wallet to restore. to know if it is real you must go to the real website which is electrum.org and also make sure to verify the signature of electrum file before installing it.

You used 2FA, you probably didn't include any passphrase because you would probably know if you did.

That is probably not the "web address". If you are recovering a 2FA wallet, just restore it with your 12 word seed. When creating a new wallet, Select Wallet with two factor authentication> I already have a seed. Key in your 12 word seed in there. That will make your 2FA wallet like a normal wallet and you should just create another wallet to transfer all your funds to it.

Try to read the previous thread, you should not have created this thread when you can post the same OP content in your previous thread, I noticed the three topic you created already are all about 2fa and wallet recovery, I believe if you read the replies to the topics the issue would have been solved.

Seed phrase are 12 to 24 words, there is nothing that will seperate the 12 to 24 words but only space. HCP was able to give a clear reply about how 2fa code looks like and how it comes with QR code as alternative 2fa backup. You should be able to understand that.

If you have your backup (the seed phrase and 2fa), or if you do not have the 2fa back up again but still have your seed phrase, the guide in the link below will help you as stated before.

Op, don't overcomplicate things. Now that you have the seed, you can download Electrum and recover your wallet. You don't need anything else.
Just make sure to disable 2fa after you enter the seed otherwise you will recreate a 2fa wallet and then you will need your Google authentication secret code.
The wallet you will recover will be multisig wallet. You better move your coins to a normal wallet (as suggested by ranochigo) to save in transactions fees.

If you are recovering a 2FA wallet, just restore it with your 12 word seed. When creating a new wallet, Select Wallet with two factor authentication> I already have a seed. Key in your 12 word seed in there. That will make your 2FA wallet like a normal wallet and you should just create another wallet to transfer all your funds to it.

ranchigo missed one important step...

When you use the "I already have a seed" option and put your 2FA 12 word seed in... you will be asked if you want to "Keep" or "Disable" 2FA... you must select the "disable" option!



That will ensure that the wallet created has the minimum number of master private keys to be able to sign transactions.

The rest of what he said is important tho... you should move your funds away from the recovered 2fa wallet.
