Never sell your Bitcoin?

I just want to see what the general consensus is about selling Bitcoin. The well-known Bitcoin advocate, Mr. Michael Saylor, has said that you should never sell your Bitcoin, you should hold it for a lifetime. He believes that when you sell bitcoin, you will be taxed, but if you hold it, you can borrow bitcoin at a good interest rate (tax-free). Platforms such as Block Fi provide such services.

What do you think of this problem? If I double my investment during the next bull market, then for liquidity purposes, I will most likely not sell a bit. I really like Bitcoin and its direction of development, so regardless of short-term price fluctuations, I plan to invest in the long-term.

Yeah he’s right about that, there are people who are not selling their bitcoins and are using it borrow loans from BlockFi and the rest of them. But, I do not know about anyone holding their Bitcoin for a lifetime.

Although I am not going to doubt that, because I know for sure that it is possible for people to decide that they are going to be holding their coins for a lifetime, that’s possible for sure. But it’s always good to do what you think will work best for you. If you want to buy Bitcoin and be holding it in your wallet and using it for taking loan, then that’s up to you decide that.

The truth is that Mr. Saylor is tricking you/us.
Why not to sell? Because in the first place, we are here to make investments, to make a profit, and that only happens when we sell our Bitcoin after we bought it. We all not like him, we have our stomach to feed every day, and if we just hold forever, what we should feed our mouth.
It is pretty clear and we have the reason why we sell and why we hold. It is our personal discretion.

Agreed with this one, you're the one who did the hard work so you should be the one that has a say as to when you are going to sell those bitcoins, not that listening to others is a bad thing to do but you have to be smart about who you are going to listen to because not everyone who advices you to do things are looking out for your best interest.

Because there are different strategy of every investors , there are others that invest for short time but there are others that invest for long term so best to differentiate these cases .

You are saying right. Bitcoin price is increasing day by day. And its community as well as. So, selling bitcoin at this price is not a good decision. Bitcoin price will reach 100,000$ in the up coming years. So hold your Bitcoin and wait for the right time for selling.

That's right, this is not the right time to sell your holdings especially Bitcoin due to that day by day it is really increasing its value and due to that by just holding and waiting to make a skyrocket again the bitcoin will bring us a huge profit. So my suggestion is that don't sell your bitcoin today just wait for the perfect time to sell it though perfect time is always behind the darkness still it will come. Always remember that holding bitcoin is just like doing investment and waiting for it to grow up.

Sure. If you are thinking of holding Bitcoin, you're thinking that it'll rise in the long term and you're able to sell it at the correct time. Depends on how good you're with market trends, holding could turn out worse than actively trading it. But the topic is about whether people should sell their Bitcoins or hold it for the long term, NOT trading it.

Well, trading and hodling sometimes go hand in hand so I sort of added it into my post. Also most of the replies have sort of tone of trading added in them so I don't really know if you are right or wrong about the inclusion of trading in this forum.

I don't deny it but to be honest with the pressure of life right now, I can only coin this market or bitcoin as a means to help myself become better. I still can't fully grasp it, still have to use other things anyway, and of course it's still not popular enough to apply to life.
We can see a future where people support and accept it, but we're not the only ones deciding everything.

Selling bitcoin when the price reaches the target will get the user good profit, but for the same one can't get fixed to some form of scheduled profit out of the investment. This is possible with very few lucky users whereas the majority requires a long term to enjoy the profit. Upon this it is good to buy and make profit out of trading which will increase the profiting depending on the market even in the short term.

It is hard to say not to sell your Bitcoin. People has different purpose why they invested. Most of them are for profit, some had put their money on ot and had to sell either to save their money or to realize profit. It is true that BTC holds a promising future, however, not all people has capacity to hold their BTC that long. As much as I want to hold my crypto even with my day job, I have bills and daily expenses to pay, and there are times I need emergency funds. Each has their own reason to sell.

I hope no one is tempted to do something out of the ordinary just because of the negative news that is circulating and immediately do something for actions that cannot be understood in his way. because it will only benefit others and set a bad precedent for the future.

holding on to bitcoins will always be a very good alternative because bitcoins will always increase and there is nothing wrong if you want to sell when you feel you deserve it, but if you buy when the price is higher than it is now, holding back is a very good thing because bitcoin is guaranteed will increase again in time. need patience for something like this.

it all depends on individual needs..
if only to store bitcoin and not be sold it is necessary for people who have large capital or who have more than one asset other than bitcoin..
because I personally will definitely sell some if I have because I get bitcoins just following the bounty campaign..
