As a currency? I don't think so. There are far cheaper, faster and more anonymous alternatives out there. When it comes to safety, bitcoin is the best but in other fields, bitcoin loses miserably.

If you are here for the long term, bitcoin is your safest bet.

Yes, Bitcoin is and to my opinion will remain the favourite choice of majority of Bitcoin investors. No altcoin has managed to push back Bitcoin and I don't think we'll see that. I agree with you here. And if you are long enough in this forum, bitcoin has died many times already owed to the haters especially those who sold at a loss.  Also, when bitcoin is crashing, you can read a lot of FUD and comments like bitcoin will be dead soon. And despite all those hates, bitcoin remain its position. People come and go, new crypto users or investors. And now, most crypto users just want to hold btc for long term, for the hope that they will get very good profit someday.

Although there are so many good altcoins that created but I still invest more than 50% of my fund in bitcoin. For me bitcoin is the best cryptocurrency for investment. Usually I don't trading bitcoin I just buy and hold and it is enough to give me big profit. Usually I only invest max 10% of my fund in altcoin because it is hard to find project that have good people behind it, good road map, and good opportunity. Also the risk also high because if the altcoin fail or too slow to grow the number of it users or have difficulty to complete the road map then my investment profit will be smaller than my expectation. But I am lucky because I found TRX because it used by gamers community which is very big and growing, I also gamer too so this altcoin is very useful for me, I think this altcoin have big potential so I invest more than 25% of my fund to this altcoin. Bitcoin potential can't be underestimated due how it was able overcome different type challenges which would have cause the exit of some altcoin but it always leads to the elevation and awareness of Bitcoin. In spite all the characteristics, it shouldn't say Bitcoin is free from the intervention of various institutions cause institution are the major investor these days.

It is bringing financial freedom for the early adopters and investors and that's why it's not too late for the new investors to buy it. Of course but, taking into account where we started and where we were just a few years ago, I couldn't expect a better scenario of how things have unfold.

Nowadays I can see a much bigger maximalists stream that is defending Bitcoin's share in total market cap compared with 2017 and the ICO fever, so it is still the favourite choice and this is great, but I hope there is no war among crypto-coinnoisseurs in the near future. As you state, compared with other markets, crypto is still small, and a civil war is the last event we need if we want to keep growing. That's why I think that being a maxi is great (for whoever wants) but we should avoid toxicity at all cost.
