What do you think will happen to Bitcoin in 100 years?

In 100 years from now, two things will have happened is the bitcoin market will have gained public adoption and become a legal tender or Bitcoin will be forgotten as history. But with the level of development and growth witnessed in the Bitcoin market, I am sure bitcoin will still be around in 100 years to come thing would have changed in several ways but certainly bitcoin will be on another level different from what we have presently.

In 100 years bitcoin will be historically referenced as the basis for the multiple cryptographically secured digital currencies in use.
Blockchain technology will be widely adopted and perhaps used to record transactions such as deeds for properties.

People will wonder (or shake their heads) at average people who risked their own money to participate in a real life testnet.

Indeed it would become the world's most used currency as we right now are in the era like when the paper money was introduced and gradually people starting to adopt it. There's a high chance that people in that era would not use fiat anymore since everything is going to be computerized where bringing cash on going to some city would not make sense at all. Those master cards and visas are proofs that we are going to have total complete cashless transactions in the whole world.

Bitcoin will not be dead bitcoin will continue to be used as long as the crypto lasts bitcoin is now growing rapidly in many countries around the world. Although bitcoin is not yet recognized as a currency in many countries due to its high demand and rising price bitcoin is rapidly gaining popularity the central banks of many countries have taken the initiative to formulate policies for bitcoin and are trying to increase its use. In 100 years there are two things that can possibly happen. First is bitcoin might still be existing but already made as legal tender for most countries. The world is changing and even technology is upgrading to much better version. This could be a way for bitcoin to be recognize as an alternative to fiat. The second one is it might not existing anymore or surpassed by other crypto which made btc become obsolete.

Anyway we dont know what lies ahead, we never hold the future thus its better to stay focus and live to the present.

Many of us now invest in Bitcoin, not only did not make money, but in bitcoin price volatility, they also lost their principal.

First of all, it is certain that 99% of us are dead. We may see Bitcoin in 50 years, but it is difficult to see Bitcoin in 100 years.

 But bitcoin network will never die , though at some point this will be abandoned ? who knows if the support fell for those years passed .

For me, bitcoin could still be existing at that time. We know that there is only 21 million supply of bitcoin and halving occurs every 4 years which makes mining of bitcoin more difficult. 100 years from now is 2121, and from what I've searched on google the last bitcoin will be mined on 2140. So I don't think bitcoin will stop existing before that happens, bitcoin and blockchain technology will only evolve as the technology improves. Bitcoin won't just disappear, it can only be replaced if someone invents something better than that.

Here, I read every reply carefully, thanks. I have also seen everyone's main points. Most people feel that 100 years is too long and difficult to predict. Relatively speaking, 10 years and 20 years are better to predict. In fact, what I want to express here is that 100 years is really very long for us as individuals, and it is difficult for us to live beyond 100 years. But for the entire human civilization, 100 years is really short. It passed quickly. I firmly believe that Bitcoin will still exist 100 years later, and a whole new human civilization has been built.

Even for human civilization, 100 years is too long because the average human lives are 60-80 years, that it took one or two generations to see how bitcoin will be in the future. I also believe bitcoin will still exist, but for how long and that is the big question because new technology will develop. Cryptocurrency is a new phase transition from traditional currency to digital currency.

We can tell our grandchildren and explain to them about bitcoin, so maybe they can still use bitcoin for their benefits or use our bitcoin as a legacy. That will be good for them because they can continue what we did.

The two extreme things will happened. Either bitcoin became a transaction tool as like fiat or it will exit from the market. But my wish and most of the traders wish will be same. They surely hold huge amount of bitcoin, so they will like to bitcoin rule the world.

So it is really impossible to predict bitcoins position in 100 years but we can guranteed that it will creat a history. Bitcoin might be in heavy progress and possibly a legal tender by that time. Looking at how bitcoin had improve even in just 10 years after birth, so how much more 100 years from now. It's price will be in its highest peak if volatility will stay.

But one thing i'm certain, i don't think we still exist by that time. People just get old and then gone. But bitcoin and its blockchain will have its long way to go and a brighter that awaits for it.

100 years is a long time. It's hard to say if there even be life on Earth in 100 years. To give you a perspective 100 years from now people were barely able to fly. There was almost no commercial airlines and most of the traveling was done by trains and ships. Now we have electric cars and supersonic jets and millionaires are sending cars into space

I feel like there's not going to be a normal currency in 100 years it's all going to be electronic. Fiat money will be dead and you'll be able to see cash in museums. Everybody will use electronic currencies and crypto but will Bitcoin be good enough for that period is hard to say. Bitcoin will probably be what a a steam powered ship would be for us now.

Bitcoin should be the rarest digital asset that's tradable with real life items as long as governments and businesses accepts Bitcoin. There are NFTs that are the rarest blockchain but it cannot be used like a currency like Bitcoin.
