How a post should be

Post should be quality that will originate vital discussion, discussion that connects to Bitcointalk forum that can encourage  and enlighten members of the forum. quality post is not about lenght but the quality of the content it carries, that can add value to the forum. A post must be a write up  of good discussion that everyone can understand that will breed quality answers.

Erm. I wouldn't put too much pressure on people writing quality posts, they come in many different forms.

I'd rather you post something natural and uninfluenced/unpressured than suggest posting something of "quality" - that feels it might discourage users from posting, especially if their English is bad.

Bad in English does not make a post not to be quality. Nobody is perfect in language.. what makes a post quality is the message been passed . Not if the English is correct or not

Post should be something useful that everyone can benefit about it like a new knowledge that they may never have come across. It should be natural or normal post where you share your vast knowledge about it. It should be simple as possible or keep it neat and short if you can that could convey a useful information, thus connecting your post to a specific board/topic is a good one.

It's not necessary to make a post like an article if you can express it in a short sentence but if you feel like to elaborate all of the details then make an article and post it here. That should be worth it to read.

It's what I also mean by quality post. Those quality guide can add value to members

Provided your post weren't meant to meet some weekly posts count by the campaign you're working for then it should be fine. How do you know such posts, is by simply reading it. This posts has less generic content in them. The contributors of the post are usually interested in adding to the discussion on ground. They aren't just posting because they have to but because they want to.

Our posts should be an expression of ourselves so if there's any need for corrections we can get that from more experience users. Don't be afraid tit join any discussion you're interested in, if you're wrong we have those willing to correct and guide you. We should not make quality discourage users with less knowledge from contributing on the forum, remember this forum wasn't created for the so perfect but to accommodate all. Although that privilege shouldn't be misuse by spamming the forum.

This is important. Unless the post is completely broken, and hard to understand then bad English is fine. Just as your knowledge of Bitcoin might be poor. Hell, I've been researching, and reading up on cryptocurrencies for a while now, and I'm still far from perfect on my knowledge, and usually learn something new every so often. Even the experts will learn something new every so often, and I'm far from that.

Anyway, back to the point; bad English doesn't necessarily mean its a bad quality post. I've seen many of posts that contain poor English, but their point was still valid or they demonstrated that they had put effort into the post despite not being fluent.

I feel collectively as a community, we are a little too hostile sometimes.

In short, it should be as short as possible with the meaning which the user actually wanted to express whether it may be right or wrong statement but letting others know easily will let us to continue quality discussion instead of posting lengthy wall of texts or meaning less quides or some posts which actually created with the intention of gaining some merits so the users can get the more incentives from signature campaigns.

Constructing the post will have extra benefits since it will attract more people to actually read what has been written there.

OP you're on the right track, quality posting isn't determined by the length of the post. This misconception has led newbies astray they post truck load of junk on a thread where a few lines would carry the information.

I also want to emphasise on this. Don't let yourself to be so worried about coming short on expectation and forget that this forum is a place for crypto discussion. Your thoughts and opinions on any subject re authentic and it is the originality and authenticity that is valued

English is a tool to describe your opinion. If your English is broken seriously, your opinion will be misunderstood by the others.

Bad, at somewhat extent, can be acceptable if the others can still understand your opinion well enough. Nevertheless, if your English is bad, and you are aware of it, let's spend your time to improve it.

Eventually, it help your posts look better and also increase its quality (just somewhat, because the most important component is content of your posts). It help you to become a better English writer, beyond the forum, for other jobs as well.

If you are fluent in any language other than English, then it is highly encouraged for you to post in your local board. These boards often have tight-knit communities which will be able to help you, and in some ways you might be at an advantage compared to English-only posters.

In the English sections, only English is allowed. It is not necessary to speak perfect English, though you should be understandable. Try your best. If you're unsure whether your English is good enough, ask in your local board or in the Beginners & Help section

If you post in altcoin/bitcoin discussion, you don't have to follow anything yet it will get replies and lots of it xD

Often I come across posts that repeat the answers of other people, only written in different words. This happens very often. Why do this? After all, the correct advice and answers have already been given.
Let's make each open topic a live discussion, where people read all the written messages and just continue the conversation. But some posts do not bind the conversation in any way, but contain dry information. Most often, they are copied from somewhere or paraphrased, thereby simply proving that a person needs to fulfill his subscription quota.
I don't think all posts should be useful information. Sometimes a well-asked question, or a request for help, shows the questioner's real interest and engenders a necessary and interesting discussion.

I think it should be real, write what you understand, regarding a certain topic in the forum since there are lots of members who are willing to help, so it's okay to ask questions we are here to learn and sharing information, realistic is also one of those, and just follow the rules if you don't do what is against the rules its okay,

Aside from assuring the quality of your posts, you should also pay attention to honesty on the information you are sharing to others. Plagiarism is a crime here and might even lead you from getting banned from posting in the forum. No pressure should really be given for the newbies about this matter yet as they are still learning and coping up with the ways in here. If you really want to rank up and gain merits, make sure you post related stuffs to the topics and make sure the build up is great as well as the pureness of each word you are saying. Just be real, write what you know and share what you learned.

There's no need to put pressure on beginners because here sharing posts that are on their minds I think with quality it really should be needed to add value to the forum but if it's a normal question asked a beginner I think it's fine everyone has ideas which is different in each post and some understand some do not because this forum is very wide with many boards provided.

So I'll be myself with what I know it doesn't need to be quality according to people but if the idea is unique then I will post it on this forum.

First it depends what kind of post you are making , if you just reply to another post or if you starting a Thread !
Sometimes its Quality if you just deliver an important Message or Information about a thing you want to share with others.
A post should be written from your one thoughts and in your one words if possible that brings understandable the Information to others.
Sometimes less writing is more , it really depends on the content.
Everybody has his one Style.

Post should be related to the topic. The topic should be appropriate for all of the guests and users of bitcointalk. They should be on the right board in where they should belong.
Just take posts casually as you're just talking to your friends.
If you're in a campaign, in order for your posts to be counted, you must follow the rules of the camp.

I wouldn't focus on trying to fit some imaginary rules of quality if I were you. It's better to understand what is not allowed like spamming or posting referral links, the quality will come in its own pace.
Remember that what one person will see as quality post the other will not and it's not your fault in most cases. If you want to express yourself, do it by all means, just try not to annoy to many people in the process.

I believe everyone has their own quality measures on content.
As long as the forum rules are respected and the post are natural, done with honest intention to enrich the community, I am ok.
I would not like to make this place too intimidating for newbies to come in the future, specially if we all are hoping for further adoption of crypto.

Exactly, what I might consider a quality post isn't what another users reading that post will consider quality. Most quality users have been known for having so much to say which is why their post is always lengthy. This has been misunderstood by their admirers wanting to write like them and probably get rewarded with merits.

This misunderstanding has resulting to them writing lengthy without having any idea of what they're saying, that's exactly why it's never advice to write like others just to pass the impression that you're been a quality user to the forum.

Quality comes in different ways which is why you can see a short reply gets huge merits reward but to you, you might think the merit system is been abused right there but that's not the case. Funny posts can also get merited, same as memes. Sometimes for a post to get merited has nothing to do with the quality of the post but if it's the write answer to the post it's responding to.
