You took a risk as you bet on a feeling rather than the odds. If it was greed, we can safely say that all gamblers are greedy! However, that would not be true.

But that feeling doesn't just happen... Uncontrolled betting or betting on unfamiliar events starts after you first make them consciously... Then you bet again on familiar championships... And then you get the urge to bet more in the hope of winning more... That's how addiction starts, I guess...

There are lots of forms or ways to describe it but do really end up on the same outcome which is on addiction which it is something common on this field or business.
You would really get addicted if you dont know on how to handle up yourself into this situation.Playing isnt bad and betting with other sports thats out of your scope

Especially, with the current situation that makes people stay at home, I suspect those can play slots all day. Their family will have a big role to cure their addiction, so I think you need to talk to their family. You also can advise them to limit their time in playing and remind them about the bad impacts of addiction. Yeah if gambling is destructing you from your other supposedly priorities ? then i guess this is different from being not addicted.
Specially in bed when that is the only place in our house when we are very aware to think what is for tomorrow and what is for the future.

I think it all comes back to the person himself. because of his decision, I watch a lot of youtubers and twitch streamers who are active in gambling. lots of complaints about it while playing . but still play  .  at the end all back to the mind of each person. Probably this is a problem of a high standard of living (paradoxically) people do not really need anyone and they may well live alone, therefore a small number of common interests and affairs leads to what you described. But after they find themselves alone, the danger of a variety of addictions will increase. In fact, I have no idea how this problem can be solved.

I'm sure you know what game I mean because it's a trending game in recent years in Indonesia. Slot game are played by all walks of life, even minors who are currently still in school. Obviously very bad because Indonesia has rules about banning gambling but there is no real effort from the government to prevent it.

I know that gambling is an absolute decision for anyone whether they agree or not, but if there are no rules about age limit for the players, it looks like mass addiction will get out of control. Every emotion has the acceleration and cooldown periods for gamblers, betting here and there just for sake of making money can cause this addiction, I agree. Betting on unpopular events is the point when you don't care about money and only wanna "taste" the same feeling when you get chasing an over2.5 goal, win, or whatever.
