Well, that's the most good way to make a gambling addict to stop gambling or control their urge to gamble. I have seen a television news in my country on 2017 where a gambling addict ask the gaming corporation to banned him for months or years from entering any established casino. It just proves that even if you are a gambling addict, you can find a way to control your urge to gamble if that person is desperate to stop being a gambling addict. Well, one thing i know for sure is this, if your really addicted to a thing, not even a ban can keep you away form it. Going to a casino is not the only way to gamble since there is always a group of people who gamble by playing card games like poker, pusoy (chinese poker), cock fighting and many more. It could be. But even if they think that they do not need others, the fact is they still need others. They can hide their problem from others, but they can not hide them forever. Sooner or later, their closest people will know and will help them if they needed. I even do not know how it can be solved but I am sure there will be a way to solve it. I think most of us are just going to think it's normal just as we got addicted to riding our bikes after we learned it when we were kids. But that was something that isn't affecting, unlike gambling addiction.

I have heard of such stories in the past from fellow gamblers and former gamblers when I was in church before and our pastor talked about gambling. Anyway based on those stories I have heard from testimonials from other people, what attracts them to continue pouring money in the game is when they win and they were able to win so much that they continue to play and they do not have the urge to stop and gamble for another day. Most of the time they can find a huge list of alternatives if they really want to play, I remember back in the few years where the pandemic was in its early stage, they were prohibited from doing cockfighting. This is really true because an addicted person in gambling would only stop if he losses all his money, no satisfaction when winning because of greediness, and still greediness to not accept losses, instead, they'll bet more to recover without thinking they're gambling aggressively already.

Besides keeping busy with other activities such as you mentioned above, I believe setting a time limit or even set a certain budget (if possible) for gambling purposes also is an important part of ways to cure gambling addiction. In my opinion the gambling addiction signs is when the gambler lose the sum of money he has set for gambling and try to get it back with his saving money and in most cases end up losing them i think that gamblers need to have some kind of self control and see the gambling as some sort of fun activity or a hobby which will make it easier for them to adapt in case of a loss.
