Recently, I have sent a lot of reports on similar actions of newbies. Many accounts were banned, the posts of which were copied from Reddit.
Ugh....I hate to see this shit still happening. When cryptotalk.org was active (and it may still be, though I haven't checked), there were tons of posts that were cross-posted on that forum and this one, and I recall reporting a few of them. The situation seemed to have quieted down for a while--or at least I haven't noticed much newbie plagiarism from other websites--but there have been a few ban appeal threads in Meta recently that would suggest members like OP are at it again. If it's not Reddit, the posts usually come from crypto news sites, or at least that's where a lot of the plagiarism of recent years came from.
To ban it or not is the right of the moderators. I just want to warn you, be careful about the posts of newbies who copy posts for the sake of getting merits, and after plagiarism is detected, the topic created by such a newbie-pest is completely deleted.
They could be trying to get merits or simply upping their post count for bounties/sig campaigns. Who knows. But you're right to caution people about newcomers who make substantial-looking posts. If a member of Newbie rank posts something that looks like it was written by a blogger or has that "journalism style" to it, that should be a huge red flag. Unfortunately most newbies don't possess great writing skills and won't start their journey on bitcointalk by writing profound posts on anything related to crypto.
