Let's talk about how to Encrypt and Decrypt a message using PGP key. In This case I'll use a plain text or message to be Encrypted with asymmetric types of Encryption I'll make this Thread in order to help everybody in the forum to know how to Encrypt and Decrypt a message or text using their Android Phones What is Encryption Email encryption involves encrypting, or disguising, the content of email messages in order to protect potentially sensitive information from being read by anyone other than intended recipients. Email encryption often includes authentication Before we Encrypt a message we must create a PGP key Using iGolder: https://www.igolder.com/pgp/generate-key/Step 1: just sign your google account in the box and your password. Note:you can create any passwordStep 2: Click the generate PGP keys Step 3: Copy your public key and private key to your notes Step 4: click the encrypt a message using PGP Step 5: put your PGP Public key inside the box Step 6: write your message. After you write a message click encrypt message then your encrypt message will appear This is the step by step to Encrypt a mesaageNow we will Decrypt our Encrypted messageWhat is DecryptionThe conversion of encrypted data into its original form is called Decryption. It is generally a reverse process of encryption. It decodes the encrypted information so that an authorized user can only decrypt the data because decryption requires a secret key or password.

I got confused a bit on what's this encrypt and decrypt thing but it is just signing a message? I understand that this post was meant to be educational but it could've been more on point to make it more simpler so that it can be easily understood by someone like me who doesn't have any technical knowledge. By the way, some of the images you uploaded is not showing properly.

I appreciate the gesture to include the thread I created about how encryption works. You should have make each steps followed by an image which will make newbies and other to follow your instructions step by step. Make sure to read some post how to have a post or thread as well organised. You should also learn how to use Bbcodes and learn how to resize images for you to change of ever the image size you share needed to change the size. UPDATE the image which is not shown or bitcointalk proxy invalid image. <...>
This is not about signing a message. This is about making a message encrypted and this can also be used to encrypt data or files. VISIT this thread about encryption and you'll understand how it works. Even the website you access also have encryption. Check it out here Asymmetric Encryption Vs. Symmetric Encryption!SSL vs. TLS! - which also shows some processes of encryption.

Thanks for tips about image resizes and bbcodes
I forgot to mention it earlier that there is already a thread like this but the other thread used kleopatra desktop application to generate pgp keys, encrypt and decrypt which some may think that it is complicated or not easy to follow. In my. Opinion, this one is much easier and faster than the older same thread but I don't know how safe it is (I didnused it once but for testing only) and I also don't know how safe or secured using kleopatra desktop application as I haven't tried it yet. This thread will guide some newbies on how to Encrypt or Decrypt a message without using their computer/Laptop etc. I think I can only Encrypt or Decrypt a message using my personal computer. But now it is possible I can Encrypt/Decrypt a message using my Android Phone. I'll Try to Encrypt a message following your thread if it is gonna work or not.

You should understand how encryption works and know the purpose of encryption. I'll ask you a question, why do I use encryption?. What are the uses of encryption? Will my data or personal data encrypted are safe and secured?. In that way, you'll know the importance of encryption. I think you know that encryption uses algorithm to make it hard for people to decipher.

To some newbies who are following this guide: In step 5 of encryption, you shouldn't put your own public key when encrypting a message for someone else. You should paste the recipient's public key there so he'll be the one who can decrypt the message (it's noted in the app itself).
I think OP has just set a bad example of using his own public key so he can reuse the encrypted message for the decryption part of the tutorial.
@Shamm you might need to inform newbies about that in the OP because most will literally follow what's written.

I'll make this Thread in order to help everybody in the forum to know how to Encrypt and Decrypt a message or text using their Android Phones
You mean using browser (while connected to internet), which isn't good practice from security/privacy perspective. There's no problem is someone only want to try using PGP keys. But for actual usage, it's better to use actual mobile application such as https://github.com/open-keychain/open-keychain.

I'll already give some tips if they use someone's public key If you have already your public keys then you will directly go to Encrypt using PGP

The reason I think newbies are being misguided is because I'm seeing replies in this thread - encrypted messages that aren't encrypted using the OP's public key. They might have used this thread as a reference and used their own public key.

I appreciate your effort wanted to help newbies about how to encrypt and decrypt using public key and private key but by you should edit your OP that it is a guide on how you do it. The reason why you have to use someone else public key is when he/she encrypted a message then all you need to do is received the encrypted message and decrypt it using your private key. If doing the opposite way may cause problem. EXAMPLE, I encrypted a message using my own public key and I sent you the encrypted key then how would you decrypt the encrypted message when I have the private key then I will have to send you the private key which someone may have seen or having access to both private key and encrypted message. Adjust the image, it used a lot of space. Okay, I'd just advice you to rephrase the sentence because it doesn't sound like " others' public key". The reason I think newbies are being misguided is because I'm seeing replies in this thread - encrypted messages that aren't encrypted using the OP's public key. They might have used this thread as a reference and used their own public key. I did see some encrypted messages that aren't encrypted by OgNasty's public key. I'll add additional pointers why encrypting a message must other people's public key rather your own.

Well, I am thinking the same way. I wouldn't consider online services like this as personal used for encrypting very important message or other stuff unless I only used this for private messages when you have conversation in a public chat that only you and the other party gets the message privately if that person doesn't used social platform yet. Let op know that this is for educational purpose only.

Ognasty will know if you did do it properly. It should be fine if you did encrypt a message using OgNasty's public key which later on OgNasty can decrypt using the private key. You should visit the thread provided by tranthidung. There are other ways to have public and private keys using kleopatra desktop application that you can download.
