I think it's a silly activity to you because no one in the world hungry with having a lots of Bitcoin in his personal wallet. Money and others assets be worthless after your death. So you should sell your bitcoin and buy some foods for your family.

I agree but if someone has that type of commitment, we don't know how it's possible for them to survive but profit from investments, they are tend to be spent including food.

You made a very complicated decision, basically the theory of investing with bitcoin is very simple, buy cheap then sell when the price is high to take profit, don't put all your hopes and don't push yourself too much with bitcoin, because we never know for sure what bitcoin will look like in the future. in the future, maybe later you will regret if you miss a good moment.

It's not as complicated as you might think it is. According to what OP said, he's pretty confident that he's going to hold his bitcoin holdings through the current market. It's not the same for everyone. Some people would chose to sell at loss and move on but that's not the case here. There's only three ways that it could go:

- sell and use money to sustain (eat)
- continue holding but find alternatives to sustain with (job, gigs, business, etc).
- do nothing.

Either one he chooses is his choice.

I think it will be good if you enjoy life more too mate. Bitcoin is important but it is not the most important thing. Starvation will be bad for your health and you may spend more money for medical care. Everyone has different personality, but for me looking for better strategy is better than push my self through hard situation. I don't invest all of my investment fund to bitcoin only but I also invest in something else which can give me other income.

Investing in Bitcoin is actually a good idea and plan, but will you really risk yourself that high?

If you don't want to sell your Bitcoin, don't need also to keep your starvation or hungry. Move and get money from other income. Eating will not spend of all your money, it is just for several cents to keep you alive and make others for trading again to get profits.

In that state of mind, I mean yes I'd agree with Holding off your Bitcoin thing. But knowing the risks of holding without making sure one's health, I think it's a dumb decision after all. Well, we are in this shit pandemic and health should be our Top priority.

Why would it be that complicated? Tbh, I don't understand when someone doesn't like to use their savings or any form of assets they have when there's a threat to life or there's a life and death situation. Isn't that Life as much more valuable than these? It's absurd to think that when someone died because he/she didn't want to use up some or all of its assets to help his/herself to survive in the first place.

Without the owner of the assets, it's floating money that no one can use. With that as well, you can't bring your money to your grave nor use it in the afterlife (whether there is).

It is a wise decision. For urgent needs, selling some of our assets is the right option. What for the assets if they cannot help us when we are hungry? Crypto assets are not only for investment but also functions as reserve money. So, when there is an urgent need, we can convert the asset to fiats. In this way, our crypto assets can be more useful.

If I sell off my coin I might not be opportunied to buy back the coin at the exact rate I bought the previous one and had to come to a concrete decision of not selling my coin no matter the consequence.

Wait till you hear that one of those consequences is a form of cancer so you will need to sell your bits bitcoins at 1million/piece to get some 5-10 years more to live. Everyone is a hero when there is no real danger around.

If you are going to think about it, the market can definitely go lower very quick if the pump happen so quickly also. I think it is very better for all of us to find other things to do in life rather than boast here that you can go hungry than cash out your bitcoins. Common sense dictates that if you are hungry, you find something to eat. If you don't have the fund to buy something to eat then you find ways to earn money. Usually, those who hold for the long-term will be the winners, as proven in the past. However, we are dealing with realities of life here so there can be a time when we really need the money, and so we can be tempted to sell our coins. It happened to me years ago and I can still remember that mistake I made, but then again, that was a sacrifice I made for a purpose. I would not rather go with the idea that I would rather go hungry than sell my Bitcoin...actually there is no need to go hungry when you have Bitcoin because you can use it as a collateral to have a loan or just borrow something out of your Bitcoin and we already have those platforms dealing with this.

Maybe he is just an idealistic man who believes in the power of Bitcoin to make him rich. I know many people become like him in 2011 when they bought their first bitcoins. He should have bought during the time when Bitcoin was at 3000 to 10000 dollars a piece, because he wants to make his investments increase a little more. Ten fold if he bought at 10,000 dollars and price reached 100,000 dollars. So if he invested 10,000 dollars then that would be not enough if his investment made 20k or 50k. It must be higher and higher. So don't eat for him.

If you work on cryptoindustry and get paid a coin maybe you need to sell some for eat, but if you buy coin for a hodler the answer is yes u need to stay hodl and buy with dollar cost averaging it would be really help

Well, that is a really tough one dignified statement that I wish the OP can be able to make it because even if you wanted to resist the temptation, there really comes a time that you cannot endure it because you are already being triggered into something that will push you to do it even if you have promised not to do so. It is just fine to hold into your Bitcoins if you really want to and if you are not being short with finance because it is indeed great to treasure Bitcoin rather than spending it or easily selling it since it have the nature to rise its value and losing the opportunity to experience such is kind of frustrating.

Sometimes we need to enjoy our results. No exception from trading and BTC. It may not be much but keeping you full with BTC is a satisfaction in itself. It will pump your desire to keep looking for it. Maybe everyone has a different technique, but I won't hold back BTC if hunger can kill us later LOL. Maybe if you are a financial owner enough and BTC is a cold financial residual then that is natural. But not everyone is like you.

As for bitcoin, I wouldn't foolishly cut my losses to sell at a lower price.  If you are not brave enough to do it.  You cannot successfully and effectively survive in this market.  Bitcoin is very difficult to buy at a good price, sometimes it takes you all night to decide a buy price.  So just hold and wait for the opportunity.
