Hi! I recently found out that all my BTC were stolen from my Ledger Nano S. The withdraw was done 1.5 years ago (I rarely check it).
Recovery phrase was stored in 1password and at home on paper.
1. Ledger was ordered from official site and I'm sure for 100% Ledger wasn`t hacked (my friends use devices from the same order, everything is okay). 2. Regarding 1password..I also think the cause of the problem isn`t here, I haven`t heard about their leakes. 3. 99% chance that it was due to theft from paper, which means it was the person around me.
Thief's wallet: 36zzz7ZRmsp9v7WFBnFNuuYXMyzPZsTTyR
Are there any tools to find out anything from the recipient's wallet number/transaction? or any other advices - I won`t return the money back, but I want to find out who it is/ It's hard to live when you can't trust those around you
Thank you all in advance for your help!

How do you know the individual who stole it when bitcoin addresses doesn't have a name? (unless he/she uses a custodial wallet or wallet from exchanges that might require personal identification).
And as you have said, it was stolen 1.5 years ago, gonna be hard to tracked that.
You are the only one who can answer it, you said it was a person/s around you. Perhaps you can narrow the gap and identify the thief itself.

Even information about which exchange the wallet belongs to would be helpful. I don't know all modern tools..maybe there is something. I even heard that some guys track transactions through btc mixers I'm a little desperate and I can't figure it out without additional information.

You can't really track him/her down if he/she has used mixers. This is what they do; they obfuscate the transactions so they can make the final destination untraceable. Even if he/she didn't use any mixers, you'd find it pretty impossible to find his/her identity. The fact that you'd know the transactions he/she made and the amounts transacted wouldn't reveal you anything significant.
Can't you suspect who could do that? Could he/she be a person from work? Do you have any close friends who are related with Bitcoin?

Probably it's someone close to you that have stolen that money because that kind of information isn't normally known by many people unless you are a tattle tale that always brag about your hardware wallet then you will have a problem since anyone could've known that you have it.

It's really hard to determine which exchanges the address belongs since the transaction was combined with other 1000+ address which is like the thief was send to a mixer to remove the trails. In Bitcoin explorer all transaction is transparent and anyone can search it, but it's impossible to know who are the owner of some address especially not from known service, exchange or casino. If you really want to know who's the thief, you could contact Chainalaysis and negotiate how much they charge [1]

I don't know how many times I need to repeat this, but you need to keep your recovery phrase or private key offline and written on paper in safe place.Using some password managers and cloud for saving your seed words is worst thing anyone can do if they care about their ownership. If 1password was not hacked, than you most likely gave your keys to thieves yourself, maybe with some phishing website or phishing email. Are there any tools to find out anything from the recipient's wallet number/transaction? or any other advices - I won`t return the money back, but I want to find out who it is/ It's hard to live when you can't trust those around you
Don't trust, verify. You should not trust anyone else around you when it comes to crypto, and only thing you can find is what address thief used and maybe his IP addresses, but that is a big maybe.

It must have been a sad day to you when you realized that for the past 1.5 years you hive been Bitcoin which is not there anymore. In most probability, you can be right in suspecting that someone close to you is the culprit. But how did that happen? I am sure you are keeping the private keys safe within your house...so in that case someone you are living with you can be the responsible. So maybe you can be a Sherlock this time and slowly unveil who can be the thief...and you can do it subtlety of course. Good luck and happy hunting.

One of the reports states that it?s a Binance hot wallet address. I can?t say it is, but it does have a current balance of 12.925,71430984 BTCs. Yes, I followed the same path and found that recipient Binance wallet. I contacted their support for information, has anyone heard of successful stories?

It is indeed a hot wallet of binance, The official statement... https://twitter.com/binance/status/961666467325358081The possible thief's binance wallet address is 1Q7nqUkXatf1sDZsaw6BPn9tyox524zC1Z which always sends to binance's hot wallet the same amount as the input transaction. And if this is true, I see a lot of deposits are more than 2 btc which means it has reached the minimum mandatory KYC requirement. Yes, I followed the same path and found that recipient Binance wallet. I contacted their support for information, has anyone heard of successful stories?
I've never heard of it, but you still have a chance of finding out the identity of the thief, it just depends on how you convince binance support. Just my prediction, Binance may ask for your personal identity or you should be able to stake your address as proof of ownership.

I don't think Binance will cater to such cases even if the coins were found to end up on their hot wallet. They have lots of users, and they cannot identify who's who, plus they are not a law enforcement agency to do investigations on non-customers' requests. It would pretty hard to ask them for such since they only cater internal problems that occur within their platform. They could care less with other people's concern that doesn't use binance or doesn't concern the platform's operation, really. If you want to really get to something on your endeavor, you might want to ask your local law enforcement to aid you.

But before reaching Binance, your funds from the purported thief's wallet 36zzz7ZRmsp9v7WFBnFNuuYXMyzPZsTTyR actually passed through 1Q7nqUkXatf1sDZsaw6BPn9tyox524zC1Z first. Others, please correct me if I'm wrong, but this could mean the person who sent the funds to Binance is not anymore the thief or the same person who owns 36zzz7ZRmsp9v7WFBnFNuuYXMyzPZsTTyR, right? As to successful stories, what exactly do you mean? That Binance would divulge to you certain personal information behind a particular address? I doubt it will. At the very least, it might require a court order. They certainly don't just dox anybody out of a simple request.

Your BTC was stolen and I think maybe you left your key somewhere in the paper or copied it into an email where others can see and they tried to withdraw your coins. really BTC if transferred to another wallet can't identify who they are unless they have KYC on exchanges.

In ideal Bitcoin setup, if you could prove that the coins was really stolen from you, the coin would be tagged after thorough investigation and the thief unmasked by those qualified to do so within the decentralized setup, then your coin is recovered & given back to you. Bitcoin is still a work in progress, hopefully we will get there. But I wouldn't mind seeing this tried out on a new crypto without compromising security and other important crypto ideals/principles

I'm sure that there's a way to track it down however there's no assurance that you will know the owner of that certain address not unless there's a data online that is connected to that wallet address. Even if you wrote it down on paper doesn't mean it would be safe I think if you repeat it you might want to change 1 or 2 phrase and keep it yourself in that way even if they steal your password written on paper, they still can't have an access to your wallet.

That's rarely happen, not unless you/op file a lawsuit on your country and ask binance to do such thing, it's not just convincing their support but their legal team since we're talking personal information here. Again that was more than a year ago already, but why you just make a move now.

I don't think binance will help much because if you look at past cases it seems that binance will not be able to help optimally because we know that they have a lot of users and it will be very difficult to verify just from the address. besides that binance is also not a legal institution that only focuses on things like this so I think doing it to binance will only waste your time

Wouldn't the thief using a mixer insinuate that OP wouldn't have the destination wallet? He has that.
