It's definitely real, and i agree of not all coins you're going to invest would recover whenever it's price drops, it's just a lucky thing if it gets valuable from nothing, it you're inveating from it's lowest price it's not going to be huge lost, however if you start to invest from a single coin from it's high peak value, it's a fifty-fifty chance to recover if it's price drops. Yes i agree with you that investing in new projects is partly a game. For me investing in a new coin is more like a bet on a sporting event only here i can cancel my bet before the "end of the match" and not get profit or loss. However if i do a good analysis then it can allow me to make a good profit it attracts me in new projects.

That's FOMO. People buy when the market rises but they don't do anything and just ignore the whole thing when there's not that much movement. It's already attached to the knowledge and attitude of everyone who's quite new to the market for having this type of mindset.
They don't know that the risk is higher when they FOMO.
