Would you buy p106-100 or gtx1060 for ETH mining in 2021? If yes can you give me some reasons? The thing is these are the only cheap GPUs in my country right now, these cards are for 300$ each and after telling a friend he said 300$ is much for those GPUs

You have been waited until this time i think you can wait 1 more month. These cards are very old in my opinion 300$ for them is expensive. it is better wait another month for better prices.
On ebay p106 3g was selling for 35$ and gtx1060 6g was for 120-140$ it was just 1 year ago.

Exactly, even gtx 1660 super was around 300$ at that time which is a very good buy, if you can get one of this for 400-450$ presently they are good buy, now I prefer buying fairly used GPUs and keep mining to limit money spending and it works for me, I got couple Vega 56 & 64 days ago at 600$ simply because they are so good for Ergo

it was because the market is not pumping and the supply of new cards are not terrible. but right now, and possibly a year later or at least until the next gen comes out (late 2022), i think the situation would be more or less the same.

So you are saying GPU price will never go down to that same stage again? I actually was thinking the same thing 🤔, it was a good opportunity missed, a friend of mine bought 10 pieces of rx580 8gb for 200$ each in 2019 and today he is like a king

P106-100 is just like gtx1060 6gb, the choice is yours to make so look at the energy efficiency side Vs hashrate, if you are the type that has free electricity then you can buy and use any GPUs you see even the R9 390x will do fine but if you are like me that runs on solar panels energy efficiency matters alot.

Yes i know market was silent and price was always down. Right know we are in middle of 50/50. I never buy or sell when it is 50/50, there will be better opportunity.Of course it will not happen tomorrow or next week, this is crypto you dont know what happens next,in my experience always happened opposite what people want and believe(when people buy you must sell when people sell you buy. Right now people are buying gpus it means for me sell.Maybe im wrong so all risk people must understand.
If you have your gear then continue mining and be happy Smiley

If anyone is planning to buy graphic cards right now it's better to look at the long run because bear market is still lurking around, don't buy cards if you aren't ready to mine for a very long time because your ROI will definitely be longer than you planned for.

P106-100 does about 11 Mhsh in Ravencoin and it can mine it for a long time to come,I am talking about the 6 GB card because with the 3 GB version it is already impossible to mine Raven anymore, 2.92 GB Dag right now.So if you can find three of these GPU-s at 100 USD each, for 300 USD you get 33 Mhsh in Ravencoin or about 115 USD monthly profit with 0.07 USD kwatt electricity price. The ROI as you see is just a few months but only if you manage to find these cards cheaper which right now I don't think is the case.

What is your price for 1 kilowatt of electricity?
I sold my 1066 video cards a long time ago. Now you can mine a lot of coins on them, but I would bargain with the seller about the price, provided that these video cards are in good condition.
For myself, I would not buy these video cards, but if you really want to mine and there are no other options, then look at the statistics after the London hard fork, and then make a decision.

Someone is offering me 10x gtx1060 6gb at 3000$, to me it looks like a good deal cos that's like 230MH so that's 17$ per day presently and they will pay back in just six months if mining still remains profitable but......damn those cards are old and they such 80-90watts each

Yes but also get prepared for opposite side of the market. What if next week crash? Im not saying crash will happen just if happens. Can you handle these 1060? Last bear market they made me angry gtx 1060s i had bunch of hynix memory i sold them. i got 8g polaris cards for cheaper price which still giving 30mhs solid.i sold gtx 1060s at 150-160$ and bought rx 480-580 8g for 120-130$ each.Im not even looking those cards, each time i hear 1060 it drives me nuts.

Same here mate, I hate the gtx1060 and I'm sure they will be useless if bear market becomes strongs as it was in 2018/2019, if I had 3000$ that bravehash is talking about I would invest that on four Vega 56 because

1. You can find them at 650$ each ( 2600$ ) you still have 400$ left
2. They have 8gb memory and they achieve 50mh easily on ETH
3. They are so good for Ergo coin so if ETH PoW is down they will be useful still
