Amazon and Jeff Bezos are known for constant innovations. It makes sense to at least try making a move with cryptocurrencies. They might lose market cap against a competitor who could decide to accept only cryptocurrencies in its business model. Who knows..

Nevertheless, this could have a big impact on the market especially if Bezos also decides to join "arms" with Musk and start stacking bitcoins as well. 

If small and middle tech companies accept cryptocurrency more popularly, Big Techs will participate in the trend. They can not stay outside the trend because if they do so, small or medium companies will beat them, and take over their Big Tech positions.

In technology, things change very fastly. Apple, Sony, Toshiba, Kodak are good examples on how fast a big company can fall to bankruptcy.

Amazon will not want to end like that. They will reconsider about cryptocurrency or it is already in their plans.

but we don't know if Amazon will accept Bitcoin in 2022, maybe they will change their mind. Bitcoin adoption can't be denied, sooner or later they have to do it.

Of course, those who have closed their doors for bitcoin might eventually change their minds and will soon to accept bitcoin in the long run. Bitcoin adoption is inevitable and that big or small companies will soon to be accepting bitcoin so they can cope up with this fast changing world of big technologies.

For now, we may feel upset if amazon will not yet accept bitcoin as a payment method but sooner or later, bigger companies will open doors for bitcoin and will surely create huge impact on the market.

$70,000 is a long way to go from here and I am not sure we are going to see $70,000 this year. I would be happy if we can get at least a little bit closer to the ATH.

The good thing about it is we knew earlier that this news was only a rumor but on the other hand it would be a beneficial thing for the general cryptocurrency especially bitcoin if Amazon will going to accept bitcoin as a payments by the end of the year. This will lead for a flight to the moon of the bitcoin price, however, bitcoin will probably going moon soon even without this big news but as I've said earlier it would be a great additional to the flight of btc price at the end of the year.

I asked myself exactly that question. If the Amazon rumor got Bitcoin moving towards $40k, why didn't Bitcoin retreat massively when it turned out that the rumor was in fact bullshit? There must be something else going on or it is a kind of snowball effect that Amazon got the ball rolling and now there is some momentum in the market. Or maybe some institutions know a little more and do actually know that Amazon might not be planning it for 2021, but for 2022.

I don't think so. Recently most of us know that amazon will accept tow altcoin in the year 2021 and then 2022 they will accept more coins for thir payment method. Actually i don't believe such type of news until they officially published. I think this would be the news of gambler for their interest. We have to stay away from such rumors.

even rumors would be an important turning point when it actually made news. We can't really be sure until there is an official announcement from Amazon, but the important thing we have to understand is that if this adoption really happens, it will increase people's trust even more. Technological developments provide many choices for people to choose a payment system according to their needs.

I am planning to buy Trezor wallet before the year ends on Amazon, and I'm planning to wait until Bitcoin payments are finally live and running in their e-commerce platform. Amazon Affiliates would also be happy about it as crypto and blockchain enthusiasts are gonna shop more on Amazon because of it's acceptance of Bitcoin.

However, the concerns that we are having nowadays if Bitcoin will be used as mode of payment are transaction fees, volatility and the duration of it's confirmation (unless they use lightning network).

Yeah, that's been shot down already. This is just rumours and none is true. Though at least for now, there might be a not too distant future where BTC payment will be accepted by Amazon but considering this rumour perhaps it will be wise to wait for the official announcement.

These rumors started in late 2013 or 2014 if i remember correctly that Amazon is going to accept BTCitcoin when Overstock, Wordpress, Namecheap started accepted payments in BTCitcoin we started hearing the rumor of Amazon planning to accept BTCitcoin and we never saw that 7 years down the line, anyone who is in the market during that period will remember the same rumor with Paypal as well accepting BTCitcoin during late 2013 and it took 6 years for them to start accepting them and like that we might see Amazon accepting them as well in the future.

I agree with you that many irresponsible parties create rumors that are not true, this is what causes the market price to collapse I am very worried about the rumors circulating in the end the price of all coins fell as you said yesterday's experience was like Tesla.

The Amazon news was confirmed to be a rumor so far. The prices of Bitcoin should fall back down in 2 weeks time. Then buying opportunity around $30k Bitcoin.

Everyone always talks about a buying opportunity once the price drops but most never actually buy but talking about how that price will continue to fall. However, it is not certain that the price of Bitcoin will fall back down to $30k because Amazon confirmed that the rumor was not right but we can see that the Bitcoin price is still holding around $40k current trading @ $39k+ as am writing this. Let's see how everything goes in the next few months. 

Obviously some people do buy the dips or otherwise we wouldn't see those strong resistance levels hold. If Bitcoin drops 20% I think that is when real opportunities arise. 10% up or down is neither a threat nor a great opportunity, but if it loses 20% that's where you can slowly expect a bounce back in price. Even though Amazon now denied the rumors Bitcoin is still holding strong. That is a very positive sign!

No question, I too believe that some investors buy the dip even though @nicerypto was right about people always talking about price dips and end up missing because they were still hoping on some more downtrend.
True that Bitcoin is still Hodling good in the upper $30+ks despite the Amazon rejection of them accepting Bitcoin by EOY which shows that, Bitcoin seems to be doing good and I have seen some charts from some Analyst indicating that Bitcoin seems to be recovering when compare to past weeks/months price chart.
 

But I also dislike most of the talk surrounding charts. All those charts can't capture some of the most important events anyway. Let it be political decisions or any other events that are not in favor of crypto. Charts can catch trends and given all the uncertainty that Bitcoin is dealing with all the time, I just stopped listening to those chart gurus and paid way more attention to what is happening in the political and regulatory environment and of course also what is happening on the tech development side of things. How would a chart tell me if in 5 months from now there will be a breakthrough announced by Ethereum developers that elevates its tx capacity by a significant jump?

I think this was already rumored to not happen, Amazon already confirmed that it doesn't have any intentions so, it seems that your aspirations is going down the dumps. Irresponsible parties? Irresponsible to whom? To those who don't use the rumors to make cash? I mean whoever put that rumor out into the world certainly made some people happy. They could have gone long with leverage and make a lot of money once such a rumor actually is working out successfully. Those rumors definitely serve a purpose, at least in most of the cases.

It doesn't work that way. Don't forget we're in the open world space, where you cannot trust anything or anyone. Just because they gave a guarranty doesn't mean they'll stick with it. But, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that they'll mess up. I'm just saying that we shouldn't really carry it in our minds. Amazon can choose to do anything; we do not and can not control them.

90% of the news posted here is fake, and in case you want to know what Amazon said about Bitcoin, you need to refer to the official statement made by them. And here is what they said:

The statement is a bit tricky. It indicates that Amazon has some interest in Bitcoin. And similar to the case with PayPal, we will get to know about it only after they actually implements it in their system.

Where's the article or proof that Amazon announced it because there's a news around that this was all just a rumor that was already debunked by Amazon themselves. I really hope that it's true but I don't think that we're going to see them by the end of the year accepting bitcoin or crypto payments.
