Introduction

WHACKD was initiated in November of 2019 by John McAfee and his team. McAfee’s vision was to hold up a mirror to society. It should be shown how parasitic malicious actors constantly skim values from society. In addition, the project aims to remove the power of influential entities (market manipulators), which otherwise can do whatever they want and instead reward the well-intentioned participants (holders).
 

Originally planned as a social experiment, the project has so far found many enthusiastic supporters.

Tokenomics

WHACKD is a deflationary asset and has a burn mechanism embedded in the token’s smart contract. With every single transaction, a portion of the tokens sent is sacrificed to the burn address and these tokens are thus taken out of circulation forever. In addition, every 1000th transaction is fully burnt.
 
In short:

• 10 Percent of every transaction will be burnt!
• 1 out of 1000 transactions will be burnt completely!

I've been trying to find more information on the project lead to encourage more information disclosure and updates.

You are right that the original team left the project after Johns death. However, on the other hand the project has found many enthusiastic supporters which form a decentralized community and are now working together to push the idea of WHACKD and thus McAfee’s legacy forward. We are mostly active on Telegram so feel free to join our efforts in building a community, meme and memory token.

Project Update

The WHACKD community has been very busy over the last few weeks pushing the tokens development forward.

Listings
Some of the latest achievements include a tracked listing on CoinMarketCap among other coin listing sites and with CoinGecko next in the teams crosshairs. WHACKD can be purchased on Uniswap as well as Finexbox but the team does not endorse Finexbox since it witnessed dishonest practices from their side. To be fully transparent it seems right that we mention this here. For this reason the next goal is to be listed on an alternative low tier CEX and scale up with increasing success.

Social Media
Organic growth can be seen on all social media platforms. Furthermore, the team frequently adds new platforms to be represented on. In particular the team has had great success on Twitter (@TokenWhackd) by hosting giveaways that have been well received by the NFT community. Especially the WHACKD CryptoGoonz collection has caused quite a stir.

Promo
The community has also written and published articles to document some of John’s life as well as to help people who are new to the project to get some perspective on the WHACKD saga. There are further community ideas planned with guerrilla promo campaigns where the team provide custom sticker templates for members to print and stick in the appropriate places in their respective countries. In the past the community has already had many great collaborations with legal Graffiti missions being completed across the world, Telegram stickers and other art being created, international news articles and interviews have been published about WHACKD.


With a lot of dedication the whacked team has managed to generate an income stream to fund further project development. These funds are generated from the following community efforts:

Merch
There is now a merch store that adds unique content every week ranging from T-Shirts, stickers, mugs, mouse mats to many more items.

NFT Collections
The team is building 31 thoughtful and unique NFT collections created by 31 different artists. This is to pay homage to the mythical 31 Terrabyte “Dead Mans Switch” that John threatened to activate. Every single NFT is based off a relevant moment in Johns life and a famous quote of him is forever burned in to the NFT’s description, truly immortalising Johns legacy on the Blockchain. 

NFT Gaming
NFT Gamification is a sector of great interest for the community which is currently developing the concept on track with the projects roadmap. The current NFT gamification concept consists of a 2d shoot em up game with purchasable/unlockable and playable John McAfee NFT characters, with additional in-game weapons being purchased with WHACKD.

Further development ideas in the context of NFTs include NFTs that trigger WHACKD token burns as well as dedicated collections that donate to a suitable charity.
