Get the jump on which alt coin is about to boom

I'm working on an app that provides insights into over 5000 different coins including BTC. Its aim is to alert users when certain coins are on the rise.

How much the alerts work? Many altcoins boom in price and go back and forth so you could be alerted multiple times a day for small amount of changes in the price? Are we able to select the frequency that we get alerted about the coins? If we cannot this would quickly become annoying.
