How to be on the first page or top of the list on Announcements (Altcoins) board

Does anyone has idea on this?

To limit the amount of abuse in some sections, a new mechanism had to be put in place for bumps and the order in which topics are displayed.

Essentially, you have no Base bumping power, so your posts on the thread will only bump your thread to a position below all those that do have and use their Base bumping power, be it through the so called Mini Bumps or Super Bumps.
Your posing bumps fall under:

Topics with equal bump score (such as topics which haven't been posted in for 36 hours) are sorted by last post time.

In your case, the "equal bump score" condition applies competing against all those other threads with 0 Base bump score.

I wonder if you noticed a red bump in the upper right corner of your ANN post.

There's long been a problem of spammy bumping being used to keep topics near the top, but lately it's become unbearable. Therefore, on these boards, bumping has changed:
 - Service Announcements
 - Announcements (Altcoins)
 - Tokens (Altcoins)
 - Bounties (Altcoins)

Topics are no longer ordered by last post on these boards. Instead, each topic has a bump score which is calculated based on recent "bump events". Posting in the topic once per 7 days increases the topic's bump score. Clicking the new "bump" link (near "watch", "print", etc.) once per day increases the topic's bump score up to 100x as much, but it also decreases the power of your future bump-link-clicks for 30 days. Neither action is guaranteed to bring the topic to the top, since it only increases the topic's score.

I can see several things about this which may not be ideal, so adjustments will likely need to be made, but something is probably better than nothing.

That's because you're newbie, the bump power based on
your activity and merit.

If it's zero (as it will be for newbies), then you don't bump at all.

I understand you want your thread in top pages to make anyone will be visible to view your thread, but you shouldn't cheat by paid shills to bump your thread since it's suspicious and bad way of marketing in this forum. Your account could be tagged if someone caught you paid shillers.

And for the most post paid shills / account bumping services don't do anything because none of them have any bumping power.
And they are well known, if you use one people will know.

You need to attract good members to comment on your post / bump it.

I'm pretty sure your little project is a scam though, just like 99.9% of all money grabbing ICOs. You don't come off as someone who should be handling millions upon millions of investor dollar.

Or created an alt account, make a post and then posted to it.

@aucoinmaster incase some of those "marketing agencies" (as they like to call themselves) contact you after seeing your thread, claiming that they can push your ANN thread to the top and create "organic" conversations and fake the interest, just ignore them. It doesn't look good at all and if anything can make your project look dodgy. You ANN might end up on this infamous  list of ANN threads that are using bumping services, where you can see some examples how bad that looks.

I just made a experiment. I super-bumped this topic. (As the topic had been sorted by its creation time before my bump, its bump score was zero)

Since my earned merit in the last year is higher than the activity earned in the last year, I haven't lost any 2-week activity period in the last year and I haven't super-bumped any other topic in the last 30 days, I should have the maximum possible bump power and I was able to bring the topic to the first place.

If its any indicator, when I have used the bump button its almost always bumped it up to the top. I've never really paid attention to my bumping power at that point though, as it was mainly for testing it out without going into too much detail.

I believe I've tested this with a super bump, and a non super bump, and the end result was the same top spot.

The effect of mini-bump should be much smaller than a super-bump.
LoyceV has the maximum possible base bump power and as stated by him, his mini-bump could move the topic to 11th place while with a super-bump (if you have the maximum possible base power and you haven't super-bumped many topics in the last 30 days), it's very likely that the topic move to the first place.

The bumping rules are changes for some boards but i wonder why are you so curious to keep your page on the top ? If your project is good and promising, you don't need to see where your page stands. It will automatically rank up when people will take interest in your project and eventually the discussion become bigger.

I have not been watching it, so I don't know how long it stayed on which position of which page.

If no one else with bump power posts in the thread and no one super-bump the topic, it takes only 36 hours to completely lose the bump score.
So, after only 36 hours, the thread in question should probably have moved to second or third page where threads are sorted by their last post time.

I second this warning (although I confess I didn't know that people were offering organized bitcointalk thread bumping services; I thought it was always just random members looking to make a few bucks).  You can probably tell pretty quickly whether a conversation is "organic" or not simply by looking at the ranks, registration dates, post histories, and even usernames of the members having said conversation.  The idiots who do crap like that don't tend to be stealthy, and they're easy to spot by mods, older forum members, or anyone else who's frequented the ANN section for a while.

Well, obviously anyone with a project that they're promoting wants to keep it visible, which it won't be if it's buried under a mountain of other ANN threads.  I doubt anyone ever clicks past the first page of that section.

If your project is good and promising, you don't need to see where your page stands. It will automatically rank up when people will take interest in your project and eventually the discussion become bigger.

Uh, yeah.  Easy enough, right?  Well how are people ever going to even notice his thread if, within seconds, it's already on page 2 of the section?  That's the fundamental problem: anything of value created by members who don't employ thread-bumpers or use shill accounts is not going to be seen, period.  It doesn't matter if the project is the next bitcoin.  If nobody has the chance to read it, there won't be anyone getting enthusiastic about it.

It's very well organized, and the one that has monopoly here on bitcointalk is Vitor Services. Per my guesstimate they are responsible for at least 80%+ of all thread bumping that is going on. I've been playing whack-a-mole game with them for quite some time (not so much lately) and it seems to me that they have unlimited amount of old newbie accounts made years ago, that they activate once the ones they are using get banned/tagged.

One would think that kind of "marketing technique" would die after bumping changes, but they are still alive and kicking as in the last ~year and a half we identified more than 120 ANN threads that are using bumping services while real number is probably much higher. That reminds me, I have to update the list as I found several more threads where thread bumping is going on as we speak.

Yep, it's pretty much obvious to everyone that those conversations are not organic at all. They usually use newbie accounts, write one liners, or ask some stupid question and then they wait OP to answer.  Rinse and repeat. I suspect that there is one high-end group doing the same but in a way less conspicuous way and using higher rank accounts, so it's much harder to connect all the dots.

But there is some poetic justice in all of this, those that are trying to scam investors are getting scammed by those "marketing agencies", selling them something that doesn't work.
