Guess you are talking about the logs or cut down trees. Sometimes I wonder what tree is ok to cut down with little to no consequences to the environment/world.... Maybe we should be planting new trees in a particular location years before a tree is cut down in the location, or we could only cut down the Dead/Unproductive/Useless ones, etc. The trees should be beneficial to the environment and society else they could be replaced.  
I think People could be charged for cutting them down based on how beneficial they were before they were cut down
