This story start from a facebook post which is posted by Mohammad Asif raja. An edited photo wher he mention he is breaking up with his best friend because he got a new best friend. And his old best friend is selfish like something. Caption and photoedit was epic thats why that post becomes viral overnight.  And the memers make it trend to make their new meme. They become famous. Because we usually know breakup is happening with two couple to end up relationship but no one watch friend breakup post ever. Well it happened maybe but this post becomes a meme. Then Years later, the post which had become a popular meme, was auctioned off as a NFT (non-fungible token), and sold on Friendship Day.

Now in 2021, the announcement-turned-meme was auctioned as one of Pakistan’s first meme NFT, selling for $51,530 or 20 ethereum by Alter, which conducted the sale on the digital art marketplace Foundation, the world’s largest platform for NFT listings.

Now whats your opinion about that. In my opinion anything can be nft which is possible to happen in virtually.  And NFT price is unpredictable.  And for this NFT i truely want to say they creat a new history for friendship day in crypto industry. Whats your?

My reaction: speechless! Bocaue I could not believe that a simple story like that which was not really considered as a breakthrough or history-making can be commending a spectacular price as an NFT and that it was sold or bought by someone who we assumed really got the money to splurge. Now, I am wondering, what kind of value or use-cases that NFT is bringing to the owner? Of course, this is always subjective because generally we categorized NFT in this case as an art and the value and beauty of an art is in the eye of the beholder...which is akin to choosing your own wife or husband. Now, how many other people are right now thinking of maybe breaking up with their boyfriend or girlfriend in a dramatic way and make huge money out of it by converting the story into a meme NFT?

It seems people don't know what to spend money on, to be honest some nft are not worth the trouble or the amount paid on it, just like this very meme nft, it doesn't seem like any hardwork was put in creating it imo, I guess different stroke for different folks, seem too overpriced for it's simplicity, $51,530 is too much for this, what benefit will the buyer derive from spending so much!

The desperation to make NFT converted pictures widely popular in the region is pretty evident on this one. They wanted to create a buzz and so they are willing to pay that much. I won't be surprised if the winning bidder is also part of the marketing scheme. It's their ETH anyway.

This type of arrangement is not new,  money can be paid,  laundered or use for any kind of motive.  Nft is actually pretty good aspect of Cryptocurrency trading but people can do a lots of things for self promotion!  I have seen a situation where so much was paid for few dollars transactions.  What happen in cryptocurrency could be strange sometimes!

It doesn't seem to be a money laundering. When you are buying it and then it doesn't mean if you can sell it instantly. You must also find someone who interested to buy your NFT
I do believe someone who have bought such NFT is just wanna wasting his money.

This entire incident shows that people are selling from craps to garbages in the name of NFT that literally translates the NFT to "New Foolish Trend" instead of "Non Fungible Token". Just doesn't make sense! I understand some people have so much money that they don't mind spending that much for a piece of shit. I encourage them to feed the poor people at least once in a week instead of throwing money into drain. You will get the blessing from these poor people which has more value than having a shit NFT.

that's right, the maker bought back the nft because which sane person would buy an nft with that bad picture.  Expensive nft will only be bought if it is truly historical or owned by a famous person, while those in the picture are not both.  until now i still think that nft is ridiculous

It's nonsense to call that as an image. it has a very bad resolution and this is a nonsense thing to have a very high value. I do agree about what you are saying above and it could be a manipulation that has already been done by him to create sensations to attract the users from the crypto.

I get that a lot of people find it hard to grasp how a meme can be sold for such a huge amount of money, but this isn't in anyway different from a lot of things that has been happening outside the blockchain for years.
There are always auctions of properties with sentimental value & they have always sold for a lot of money.

Now with NFTs i love how these auctions can now be extended to the Blockchain and how unique digital items with sentimental value can be sold for a lot money and they retain the unique properties to retain their value.

I cannot wait until this stupid NFT phase is over what is clear to me is a lot of people are going to lose a lot of money for investing in stupid digital certificates that they own something which is valueless. In 10 years NFTS with big value will probably still be worth something but not as much as people paid for them.

The NFT platform has been running well and the concept is also very unique so that the NFT trend is welcomed very positively and can be able to have a decent price in the market, so don't be surprised when there are good products that are expensive.

How is it unique? Card games have existed for a 100 years and NFT are a similar idea. They are not unique and they are not guaranteed to be worth anything in the future I think this is like the phase of ICOs in 2017 and will die down with a lot of people losing money. If you want to make money with NFTS you need to invest in one that you think will be easy to offload in the next couple of months and not the long term.

Did you not find any aspects that are included in the NFT category that has a high selling value. At such a great price, what are the benefits? Even if it's for a charity fundraiser, it should have useful properties. This is too much of a joke to be called NFT. There are a lot of mistakes in understanding NFT, as you said, it is indeed too expensive. And I think this MEME is overkill. Just imagine the price is more than 1BTC. It is foolish to pay for it while what is much more valuable is forgotten.
Better to visit an exchange, then buy Bitcoin with that money and keep it however you want, The value is getting more and more expensive, while this photo that is considered NFT will last a long time? NO !!!!! it doesn't even have a price at all.
