It is common to see people with negativity on everything. With cryptocurrency even a highly technology adoptive person will find it hard to believe at the beginning. This is all because of the way bitcoin is being developed.

Next important factor for people to have negative opinion and talk negative about bitcoin is all because of the governments. Very few governments have legalized the usage and the country where it is illegal people who are fearful find it a negative one.

Scams are part of every form of investment. As bitcoin is much associated with internet connectivity people who are new to bitcoin were easily scammed. This is interpreted as bitcoin is scam.

Most people know about Bitcoin what they heard on news/TV:

* central banks telling that's not OK to have bitcoin and it can make you lose all your money
* this or that (exchange) is hacked and money is stolen

I've seen even smart people who don't trust bitcoin just because they didn't care to read a tad more than what they are fed with by news/TV, so chill...
People will see the truth behind Bitcoin, but it won't be easy nor fast.

Yeah I think you hit the nail on the head with why people tend to be negative about bitcoin or when it comes to talking about bitcoin.  I think most people whom are negative about bitcoin simply don't understand the technology or it goes against their beliefs..here is my all time favorite quote from Andreas..

Can't blame them, I mean just teaching them solves the problem, we are just too stupid to accept that it's easy to solve that and they find it much easier to make fun or mock these uneducated people. Few days ago, I talk to my friend he hates bitcoin and he always says bitcoin will die when bitcoin from 60k$ dropped $30k and it will drop to 0$. He feels jealous because the bitcoin's price rise so fast and he doesn't accept it as fact.

Most people are unaware of bitcoin simply because most of them refuse to learn and discover new things. They are enclosed with the idea that bitcoin is a kind of scheme/scam that could take their money away. What they don't know is it ould offer them a lot of benefits if only they would opt to study it. I can't also put all the blame on these people because back then, bitcoin has a bad reputation and was really put in a bad light by those who are against it. There are also a lot of scams that are often forced to be associated with bitcoin, hence, people believe that bitcoin is a bad thing and anything about it should not be entertained upon.

The two things you listed are really the common reasons why people are ignorant about it. Let me add mine for additional information too.

1. They limit themselves to what they already knew and enclosed themselves in the traditional way of earning money, investing, and storing.
2. They refuse to be educated upon by the users who have been in crypto for a long time. They are settled to what they currently have and are close-minded on learning additional information to generate more income.
3. They easily believe the gossips and rumors that are all around the mainstream media without fact-checking whether if it is true or just fake news. They easily assume that what they heard and read is true. Hence, it is always easy for them to assume bitcoin is a scam. They don't even know what is the difference between bitcoin with Ponzi scheme.
4. They simply don't trust a speculative asset because they know all the possible risks of entering something they aren't properly knowledgeable with.

This is the list of things I think why a lot of people are still uneducated on bitcoin. Fortunately, here in our countries, a lot of people are now aware of the advantages bitcoin may bring. Although I just want to remind everyone reading here that bitcoin is not a get-rich-quickly scheme because I think most people thought of it that way. Always be reminded to invest what you can only afford to lose. Be responsible for your funds. No other person can take good care of it except yourself.

Other than what you've mentioned with regards to why people tend to uneducate other with regards to bitcoin, it can also be because they are trying to promote other investment platforms or cryptocurrencies. They try to ruin bitcoin's reputation through spreading false information that is mostly deemed detrimental for the individual listening. As they still exist, we should take on the responsibility of straightening and correcting the things being defined to bitcoin. Whenever we see one trying to uneducate, let us argue with them with supporting evidence so that we will win other people's belief.

If we see them promoting something then we can point out there problem that they are promoting somethings that's why they came to the point hating or giving some bad feedback to bitcoin, but if they are new and doesn't really understand the industry for sure they will say that thing especially we see so many mlm scams or other types of it so its not a surprise that they will think about that bitcoin is the same with those scams.

Don't know then don't love. It was a human disease that could say something before he knew any further. Only bad traits look bad in any way. Even though it's clearly a positive thing, but if you don't like it already, then negative talk and responses become a benchmark in judging something. Yes and the role of social media and big influencers is of prime importance, look at what Elon Musk did in few months , things like that are often detrimental for the overall growth.

I am gonna be honest. If you ever mentioned Bitcoin to me back in 2013, I would indeed say something negative to it. I was not knowledgeable enough that year that Bitcoin isn't "illegal coin". We still got negative perspectives from people who doesn't value our idealism about money. What they only knew is physical form of it, and only few people understands about digital currency which bitcoin involves a wide trading demand. The reason why people have a negative impression about Bitcoin is different but the two major things that cause it are ignorant and the government stance towards Bitcoin and I can most people in your country that said negative things about Bitcoin does because your government has not acknowledged Bitcoin personally.

Yes. Bitcoin does not seem to create positive things to the people because even the government personally is not in favor of bitcoin and does not trust it because of what they always believe bitcoin being a scam. And for those citizens who don't even have enough knowledge for bitcoin, so they resort into believing the government which is not definitely right.

However, if the government can provide good education not just for their traditional finances but even to the new risen blockchain technology, then the citizens will not come up being naive and ignorant to bitcoin.

I've never seen the media teaching something useful about bitcoin, and maybe what you pointed out is actually the reason behind it: they were never taught. The only news I see are about fluctuations in price, people who got insanely rich by being an early holder, people who lost huge funds in btc because they have lost hardware wallets or news about companies, central banks thinking about creating their own crypto currencies.
Since the media doesn't teach anything useful, people will remain uneducated, as they fully rely on it to have access to information and knowledge. That is the main reason why most people aren't interested in bitcoin and probably won't until it's too late.

Most of the time OP, negative and fake news are more to listen to than hearing about the positive one. No matter how we encourage and tell them the truth, it was just ignored and sometimes asking for any proof. They are not uneducated people, I think but they are just one-sided. Or, they are not totally aware of the market situation leaving behind this development and some factors are having no internet connection and their capabilities.

That happens because people love conspirative theories. A lot of people think that Bitcoin is just a scam/ponzi scheme that lasted long and one day it will totally lose it's value and you'll be left with nothing but at the same time these people have no idea that even if they were true, they could make the money because there exists futures trading.

Overall, people have no idea what blockchain means, what is decentralization, how it feels when you are your own bank. A lot of people even told me during the arguing that it's bad that bitcoin isn't regulated and it's decentralized. They were telling me that everything has to be centralized and managed by the government. It doesn't worth to waste your time with these people, you can't make an independent person from slaves when it's deep in their bones.

When you see an investment that is relatively new, its a nature for us investors already to see the negative sides of it.
People will be skeptical at first when they see a new investment or in this case a new asset/currency and that is normal.

Uneducated people will react negatively when it comes to Bitcoins and there is nothing we can do about it unless they are interested to learn it then you can teach to them at least the basics of it. Bitcoin is becoming popular already but only for those who are using the internet. Ask those people who aren't using the internet and they don't know Bitcoin or even crypto as a whole.

You can teach an uneducated person about Bitcoin if they are interested but a lazy and a person who isn't curious or doesn't have any interest about it will stay as it is and let them be.

Here in the Philippines, most of the Filipinos are uneducated and misinformed about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. They just simply listen more on the naysayers out there who are saying negative stuff about it claiming that it’s a ponzi scam.

These misinformed people need to be educated of course. It’s what I am doing since I’m very passionate in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Even with the pandemic, I still educate them online about the real and positive use cases of it.

Seriously, think about all the people who have trouble to put a desktop computer together or use outlook properly. There are still a lot of those people, most of them being maybe 40 years and older or perhaps around 50 and older. If you confront them with Bitcoin and Sha256 and private and public key, they are just lost and even afraid to get into it. That's just how it goes and maybe one day we are in a position where we can't understand the newest big thing that is happening around us while we are still stuck in the Bitcoin stone age!

The same with my friend even I explain to her what is bitcoin, how to use it and how to invest on it, still she didn't believe in me because she said that bitcoin is an investment scam base on the news. It's difficult to educate people who don't really want to learn about bitcoin, instead they choose to listen from those negative information found on different social media. @enhu, the media are playing their part in teaching people about Bitcoin and if you follow Forbes and other reputable news/article sites they are posting information about Bitcoin but it still won't help because every country are governed by the government and there are individual that will never go against what they said.
Therefore, it is the government towards Bitcoin that's the major problem hindering Bitcoin mainstream.
