What is the bad side of bitcoin according to your friends, because so far bitcoin has touched the highest price even everyone has joined the crypto community. I think your friend has selfish behavior because he doesn't want his argument to be weak so he keeps it until now.

Untill now In my country if you say/discuss about Bitcoins expect that their response are negative.

Why does some people always say negative about Bitcoins?

1. Lack of knowledge about Bitcoins, uneducate People only saw the negative sides of Bitcoins.
2. Some of them say negative feedback because of their experience on some sites about Bitcoins,  because now a days Bitcoin are popular but there are many site will scam you if you are spontaneous to invest in not trusted sites.

When you see an investment that is relatively new, its a nature for us investors already to see the negative sides of it.
People will be skeptical at first when they see a new investment or in this case a new asset/currency and that is normal.

Uneducated people will react negatively when it comes to Bitcoins and there is nothing we can do about it unless they are interested to learn it then you can teach to them at least the basics of it. Bitcoin is becoming popular already but only for those who are using the internet. Ask those people who aren't using the internet and they don't know Bitcoin or even crypto as a whole.

You can teach an uneducated person about Bitcoin if they are interested but a lazy and a person who isn't curious or doesn't have any interest about it will stay as it is and let them be.

Why does some people always say negative about Bitcoins?

1. Lack of knowledge about Bitcoins, uneducate People only saw the negative sides of Bitcoins.
2. Some of them say negative feedback because of their experience on some sites about Bitcoins,  because now a days Bitcoin are popular but there are many site will scam you if you are spontaneous to invest in not trusted sites.

Here in the Philippines, most of the Filipinos are uneducated and misinformed about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. They just simply listen more on the naysayers out there who are saying negative stuff about it claiming that it’s a ponzi scam.

These misinformed people need to be educated of course. It’s what I am doing since I’m very passionate in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Even with the pandemic, I still educate them online about the real and positive use cases of it.

In the past Bitcoin was known and used for illegal payments, because the transactions were anonymous so most people had negative beliefs about Crypto. Not only that, Blockchain is also a new technology that most people don't know about and they call it a scam. This is natural, because knowledge about bitcoin is uneven. Bitcoin is now famous for its price skyrocketing in the last 5 years and those who enter the Bitcoin market just want to get rich quick without any basis.

The word blockchain only made it into the limelight in global media and on the internet because Bitcoin's opponents were looking for a way to talk about the technology that they first denied to be innovative without having to mention the word Bitcoin. That also contributed to tons of misinformation to the public. They constantly emphasized all the negative use cases that Bitcoin could facilitate, but blockchain is the real deal. Huh??

Even for my lectures, with their master degree said that bitcoin is a scam, we shouldn't get involved in bitcoin and such. Not to mention that i took major in finance field, so they should be aware of bitcoin, or at least try to do some research with it since it's related to their study field first before saying shit about bitcoin. I don't say all finance people are like that, but if some of them are like that, we can't blame ordinary people to be so uneducated with bitcoin. Moreover, bitcoin had quite a bad name already before, which is only a false perception of people, so it'll be even harder to educate and change their perception regarding bitcoin.

Seriously, think about all the people who have trouble to put a desktop computer together or use outlook properly. There are still a lot of those people, most of them being maybe 40 years and older or perhaps around 50 and older. If you confront them with Bitcoin and Sha256 and private and public key, they are just lost and even afraid to get into it. That's just how it goes and maybe one day we are in a position where we can't understand the newest big thing that is happening around us while we are still stuck in the Bitcoin stone age!

Some people are uneducate about bitcoin because lack of knowledge and thier interest in bitcoin is also the reason why they don't take interest to learn about bitcoin. In this life, people often care more about the negative than the positive, for example you do 10 good things but you only need to do 1 thing wrong, those 10 things are nothing, because BTC already has a lot of ideas. ants. conflict and many people speak and think differently. but the problem you raised is really true because they don't understand the technology as well as the future and great potential of BTC, so they listen to the negative of BTC antifans.

1. They are following the wrong media. I am pretty much sure those people that "saw the negative sides of bitcoin" are the ones that read random articles posted on facebook and twitter. They gave little to no effort to understand or verify the claims made by those articles.

The negative perception about Bitcoin is gradually waning in my country, usually Bitcoin was synonymously termed Ponzi scheme due to it volatility, variability and unstable price, however the youths are becoming more enlightened and are gradually adopting it either as a store of value or for trading it with profit earned as source of income due to the growing rate of unemployment  Slowly and steadily people are getting more orientation and knowledge about Bitcoin thus the numbers of adoptions and users will increase compared to few years ago when the negative perception was massive.

The same with my friend even I explain to her what is bitcoin, how to use it and how to invest on it, still she didn't believe in me because she said that bitcoin is an investment scam base on the news. It's difficult to educate people who don't really want to learn about bitcoin, instead they choose to listen from those negative information found on different social media. Many people hates bitcoin and they are the one spreading bad news regarding bitcoin that gives bad impact to other people.

The reason why people have a negative impression about Bitcoin is different but the two major things that cause it are ignorant and the government stance towards Bitcoin and I can most people in your country that said negative things about Bitcoin does because your government has not acknowledged Bitcoin personally.

Yes. Bitcoin does not seem to create positive things to the people because even the government personally is not in favor of bitcoin and does not trust it because of what they always believe bitcoin being a scam. And for those citizens who don't even have enough knowledge for bitcoin, so they resort into believing the government which is not definitely right.

However, if the government can provide good education not just for their traditional finances but even to the new risen blockchain technology, then the citizens will not come up being naive and ignorant to bitcoin.

It's the media that should be taught about Bitcoin. The cryptocurrency had been around for years and everything about it can be found online actually, they are free which bloggers like Andreas Antonopoulos had been teaching on youtube. The media can change things if they are just going to be willing to learn.

Reporting correctly about the real information is suppose to be a responsibility but then today they are paid by big businesses trying to subdue this industry including those senators proposing terrible crypto bills.

@enhu, the media are playing their part in teaching people about Bitcoin and if you follow Forbes and other reputable news/article sites they are posting information about Bitcoin but it still won't help because every country are governed by the government and there are individual that will never go against what they said.
Therefore, it is the government towards Bitcoin that's the major problem hindering Bitcoin mainstream.
