Greetings,

Updated my Electrum software to 4.1.5. But when I opened the app it shows me this error.

Version 4.1.5

The previous version 4.1.2 appears to be working fine.

Version 4.1.2

Tried restarting my pc to no avail. Any fix for this? Will re-install if the error persists.

Reinstalling is probably the best option, also make sure your operating system has had recent installs.

One solution would be to get Electrum portable version, copy it somewhere you know and try to use that one.
You may want to make a copy of the wallet and use the Open from the portable electrum to get to your known data; you will also have to make the settings again. But I think that it should work.
Also in case you want the daemon too you may want to read https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/5511

Reinstalling is probably the best option, also make sure your operating system has had recent installs.

Restarted the pc and re-installed a fresh Electrum 4.1.5 had no errors now.

Also, tried to use the portable version after checking the Signature it worked well too.

I don't know what happened with the previous installation having fatal error.

Thanks for your help,
-Clairvoyance.

I'm going to throw out a wild guess here and suggest that you had a version of electrum running when you tried to install the new version.  If you're installing the new version into a different directory it may work, but it'll still look for configuration data in the same user directory.  That's very likely to cause a conflict.

In my opinion, the best practice is to uninstall all previous versions of Electrum before installing the new version.  Make sure to backup your wallets first as a precaution.

This could happen if your wallet file was corrupted. Try deleting all of your wallets, after you've backed them up, and open it again. Your wallet files are located in “C:\Users\<WindowsUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets”.

If that won't work, you'll have to completely get rid of Electrum from your computer and redo the installation. You should also try the standalone executable.

This could happen if your wallet file was corrupted.
I don't think so. The error "Failed to execute script" comes from Pyinstaller, usually from it trying to open a file which doesn't exist or is at an incorrect path. If the wallet file was corrupted, Pyinstaller would still be able to launch Electrum normally, and Electrum would instead return an error regarding the wallet.

Still, looks like OP has resolved it with a simple reinstall.
