Other than Bitcoin all coins are altcoins and gem coins are those that have good potential for investment and give you huge returns from your investment, for gem coins you can find in coinmarketcap. I suggest don't invest before your own research.

What is needed is an understanding of the functions and features of the coin or token to be invested. if seen, most choose coins/tokens that already have good fundamentals at least the top 10 coins.

but I don't think it's wrong to try Cardano considering that the hype for this coin is still ongoing. Besides that, this coin is also unique in my opinion because Cardano is the first blockchain in the world that is peer-reviewed. Gem coins speaks for its own meaning by the way, because there are many shitcoins in the market. It could be either copy pasted blocks of codes to make the similar coin or just simply those pump and dump schemes.

The price has been trading in the range of $1.3390 to $1.7634 in the last 7 days.

If you are talking about finding undervalued altcoins, I would suggest you not to try finding x100 coins, but to focus on fundamental projects. They are all still undervalued and they can bring you x10 easily in a year or two.
