Former New York governor has been ensnared in a sexual harassment / sexual assault scandal after the New York Attorney General issued a report in which Cuomo harassed 11 women over a period of years, and retaliated against at least one of the women he harassed.

Earlier today, Cuomo has resigned as governor of New York. The resignation will be effective in 14 days.

Cuomo has survived other scandals over the past year. This includes the killing of tens of thousands of seniors in nursing homes and unnecessary lockdowns.  

Meanwhile, in CA, governor Newsom is facing a recall election in September that will likely result in him being removed as governor, and may even flip CA red with Larry Elder being elected as governor. This is after Newson imposed unnecessary covid lockdowns, while he and other Democrats have ignored his own lockdowns. Newsom also exempted his own businesses from his lockdowns.

What other Democrat office holders are going to be removed from office? Biden?

Yes, I am surprised how little accountability governors have faced for killing all those seniors. They clearly knew their decision would kill residents.

Obviously, sexual harassment is very bad, but it is nothing when compared to killing 15000 seniors.  

Cuomo apparently attempted to strike a deal with the NY legislature to allow him to stay in office in exchange for not running for reelection.  If Cuomo would have been allowed to finish his term, it would potentially open the possibility that he would be able to restart his political career, or if not, be able to get a lucrative position in the private sector. Having to resign (or being impeached) pretty much means Cuomo's political career is over. The Democrat leadership in the NY legislature apparently was not interested in this deal.

Would've been a lot easier on him if he were a republican.  Imagine going through all that with nobody* having his back crying cancel culture, fake news, investigate the investigators, witch hunt or attacking all the women that came forward.

He acted based on the information available at the time.  The concern was there would literally be no more room in hospitals, including the ones they built in central park.  I know this is not something you would ever stop to consider, but make no mistake, the whole killing seniors/high death count being his fault is purely right wing rage bait.  Cuomos crimes are covering up the numbers and sexually assaulting/harassing women.

The recall effort began right after he was elected: it's an effort fully motivated by political partisanship.
We would be legit voting on a new governor in California next year---it's too tough to legitimately get a republican elected in California so recall vote it is.

Newsom won because he campaigned against Trump instead of running on his own record. The standard of living is in a freefall under Newsom.

The politicians & government officials are the representatives of the public so should be a role model who can represent any society or nation. I think they should not be involved in any of such activities. But the proper investigation is mandatory. We should not be a judge by ourselves to declare him guilty. On the other hand, if CA Governor fails to secure the confidence of the public he should not be on the seat of the governor and must be replaced by the democratic process. Which obviously is re-election.
