I created this thread to help newbies in repositioning they mind concerning this forum, first, let me take time to welcome you all on board this noble forum which serves as the highest cryptocurrency library with a wealth of knowledge which is domiciled in every member of this forum.

I have been around in this forum for a while now and have gained loads of experience, all thanks to the high-ranking members and every quality poster in whatever rank.

I would like to point out a very important aspect for you as a newbie, which is learning this will help you greatly, not on this forum alone, but every other aspect of your crypto journey

This forum is definitely the best place to educate yourself on bitcoin (apart from the whitepaper). I have learnt so much from other people here & I wouldn’t have bought so many bitcoin or even known how to keep them safe without help from people here.

Before I joined the forum in 2014 I kept my stash on blockchain.com (I know, right).
One of the first things I picked up here was, not your keys, not your bitcoin (referring to controlling your own private keys, not leaving your bitcoin on a third party website/exchange).

I would reiterate the sentiments of LFC_Bitcoin above; the forum is a great repository of information on all things Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, and proper use of the forum would allow one access to all that knowledge. But proper use also entails having a mental filter and taking all information presented with a pinch of salt;

• Do not grow to trust any user completely, but verify all information you get,
• Grow a thick skin if you want to be a frequent user on the forum,
• Know how to properly search for relevant information,
• Always stay updated as the Bitcoin network is dynamic with new updates regularly added.
The forum has surely taught me a lot in the few years I have been registered.

There is a need for you to be fully aware of the pros and cons of what your investment is, how to secure and make the most of the opportunities that exists within that field. The cryptosphere is filled with opportunities. Opportunities ghat only the learned can spot and utilise. It becomes of utmost importance that you should study and better acquint yourself with the field other than running straight ahead to bounty hunting and guve aways. You stray far off by doing that!

It's on this premise I was introduced aswell. But a saying goes thus; "When a dog meets a situation greater than barking, it paves a way for the hunter..."
When I joined this community few months ago, all I thought of was how to make some money, which I actually needed. But, as a desciple of knowledge, when I saw and read for few days, I traded the mindset of making money to gaining knowledge. Yes, I am not regretting it because I am fulfilling the saying "L-EARN and then you EARN.
I am happy I could learn without paying. However, some newbies already have ample knowledge of crypto, they are here for strictly earning and are willing to earn in whatever way.

I tend to agree with this, as we saw there are a bunch of threads here that come from newbies asking how they will earn and also ask how they will rank.  So it might they are here got introduced to the platform with the essence of making money knowing the fact that forum is a house of discussion regarding crypto-related stuff and most especially focus on Bitcoin.

That's why as a senior to them we are here to guide them and change the motive and reason why they're here.  More reading and learn and then becomes an established member and the last part earning isn't that hard.  However, I admire non-signature wearer users especially our brothers and sisters on the WO thread, they are here for speculation and discussion on Bitcoin nothing else.

Since they were called newbies, they should take a lot of time learning to gain some knowledge and experience before they demand to make some money. There's a lot of room to improve since they were newbies and I myself took some time to learn almost everything in this forum searching and reading every questions and suggestions on almost every board in this forum.

Newbies should focus on this one first and I'm sure they have lots of knowledge to gain before they even know they can make some money if they have to. Gain more knowledge and experience first so you won't be blindly walking if no one is around to guide you.

Forum is just a place to share our knowledge and gain information from others but since this forum has signature campaign and allows anyone who meet the requirements can earn made it to be a earning site over the actual reason of existence.

Knowledge is wealth, so learn as much as you can then you can make as much as you can from the knowledge you gathered.

Absolutely this is the best place to learn! But you cannot remove the earning part. The problem with Newbies is that they come here only to earn without even knowing how much they will earn. Most of them straight away go to the bounty board and later on get cheated by the projects. They will join all the projects without even understanding the project. Then they will create a topic on the Altcoin board about those bounties.

First, learn how the forum works then learn about the projects then think about earning from the forum. There are so many different ways by which you can make good money if you know how to do it.

Speaking of this noble forum, we should treat this as a place where newbies as well as guests are welcome and safe. I guess it would be ironic to praise the forum at the same time use it as platform to promote a scam such as 1xbit. It would be an insult to the forum and to all those who came before us including Satoshi to use it as a means to find more victims.

As you've said, newbies work to learn and not to earn. However, it is one thing to say what the good is and another to actually do the good. It is one thing to encourage newbies to learn and not earn and quite another to actually reject the opportunity the earn a few dollars from marketing a scam business.

Learning is a kind of working. You will make your works better if you are learning at the same time. Learning will help you improve yourself everyday and practice what you learned will help to improve your work quality, effectiveness.

Work, Learn and Earn, they are happening at the same time. Sometimes you have to sacrifice earning and prioritize for working and learning. The pandemic is perfect to learn more. It gives you more time at home, free of work at companies and have more time to learn. You can learn things for your current occupation or learn things for other occupation that can be your part-time jobs later.

@KingsDen You are right when you say some newbies already have expert knowledge on crypto currency and other technical aspects and skills, but sorry those users are no longer newbies the newbies I refer to in the thread are those who have no knowledge before coming here. Those that already have some skills in the crypto space are referred to as pro newbies they may have a newbie account on this forum but have been into cryptocurrency for a long time.

Are you serious? For example, are you only here to gain knowledge? With your reputation for posting like this, it's like saying "trust me people no matter what!" Newcomers like you just use the forum as a "cash cow", who are not content with one account but produce a lot of alternative accounts here, and at the same time, they still work dishonestly.

It is no doubt that most people who came into the forum, came on the very basis that on bitcointalk.org, you can earn free bitcoin, and not that it is a platform where you can learn all about bitcoin. Because even I too was a victim of such idealogy. But when I finally got into the platform, came across some articles here on the"Beginners and Help" trend, then did I finally got to know that are is much which I never knew about bitcoin and had to learn, because I came to understand that in the cryptocurrency field, there are lots of opportunities.

Your point is very clear, it's obvious that most of the new users don't really suffer or research to this noble institution, base individual recommendation and information passed to them before joining the community, i noticed that it's what is making some of them to backslide, the Genesis or aim of this forum is not to make money or earn a bitcoin but some of us do misunderstood the concept of forum, more especially newbies, let us try inform our people well before introducing them here, because to acquire knowledge first is more of important than earning bitcoin that you can't defend.

The reason I was attracted to this forum is because I saw it somewhere that I can earn while posting on this forum, but when I joined I noticed you can not just earn, you will have to interact with people with good posts, I have to make researches about bitcoin and altcoins, I share my own ideas and learn from people. What I have noticed recently is that I have learned more than I expected because I make this forum my hobby. But most people will not want to learn but determine to only earn and become the father of spammers that will be banned or remain stagnant.

The problem is that crypto is so volatile and therefore comes off as a great way to make some quick money. With that in mind, the new members that come to the forum come, at least in this phase of the cycle, to get a quick turnover of profits and not really with the intention to actively participate in the global crypto discussion. I don't think that's something that can be changed until the market stops being so volatile.

Indeed, this forum is a good place to learn. But indispensable, there will be some alternative accounts for uninterrupted participation in bounty. But from another point of view, those who participated in the bounty replacement account did not disturb the normal order of the forum, and their scope of activities was limited to the Bounty section.

I was introduced to this forum by a friend in my university days and I was told I can earn for being a regular poster, but at the early stage it was a kind of hard for me to comprehend properly but as time passes with persistent learning, I could gain knowledge that have helped in my entire cryptocurrency journey. so to me am strictly here to learn and earn if the chances are given.

Merit already made it harder for newbies to see it that way, and it is really effective for sure. Surely even existing merit abusers these days that are trying to help those kinds of newbies will surely run out of sMerits.

It sucks that we gonna have to live with it. Even by searching "Bitcointalk" in Youtube gives me a result on how to earn Bitcoins there.
