As bitcoin's popularity grows, more altcoins enter the market, resulting in a massive increase in cryptocurrency scams, with many people losing money on a daily basis, particularly newcomers to cryptocurrency. These are the people who are most likely to fall victim to cryptocurrency scams, which is bad because they will be discouraged. There are a slew of bitcoin scam websites out there right now, and if you fall for one of them, your money is already gone.
Scammers' websites always include some fundamental features, such as standalone website and popups. Basically, the purpose of this website is to lure and mislead visitors. Scammers can deceive individuals in a variety of methods, including the following:
1. Goad: one of the methods used by scammers to attract people to a website is to do a giveaway or any other type of distribution activity that will attract people.
2: Execute: Scammers usually make sure that users abuse personal information such as their private key, password, or even request kyc for their own personal advantage.

There are several ways to avoid being scammed by scam websites. For example, if a website advertises a giveaway or asks you to invest and your money will be doubled, stay away from that website.
Stay away from any unauthorized or verified website that asks you for your login and password, your private key, or your kyc.
This, I feel, will undoubtedly assist you in identifying some scam websites and ensuring that you avoid them in order to prevent losing your money or personal information.

Yes. You have really spoken well with your well detailed points. But another way to know a scam website is,
1. When they promise to offer you a very huge investment profit within a short period of time.. (i.e to offer you 1000% within 24hours).. Please run away from such site.

2. When they ask for your wallet login details,.. abeg run away from such site. And last,

3. When they promise to offer a very attractive giveaway. My friend abeg runaway, because there sole am is to lure away your hard earn money.

But most at times, all these crypto trading signal provider is another avenue where most people gets scammed, as they promised to offer a 100% reliable signal, but after making a purchase, you will tend to understand it was all falsehood.

Stay away from any unauthorized or verified website that asks you for your login and password, your private key, or your kyc.
Even though verified website can do a scam one. Its so easy to pay its fee and make it look like a legit one. If asking a password and email, is already risky. What more if this one ask for private key.

The most obvious method used by many websites to scam is by asking visitors credit cards info, forcing you to click unknown links and asking some amount of money for some membership.
Ive also saw a lot of these kind where paypal and some legit cards like mastercard visa has been displayed but this isnt guaranteed of legit some using it to fake or fool someone in this method.

The common quote that we usually see and say that; "if it's too good to be true, it probably isn't" - isn't real, fake, a scam. That scam has been revolving in the crypto market for years and too sad that there are still newbies that believes on it.
They think that the crypto market is an easy market that those scammers are saying about depositing and giving back with double. But they don't identify it first as a scam because the problem is, they are new and they don't know such scams are existing.

There is no universal formula for identifying scam. As some have said, if it looks too good to be true, be very careful. If you are unsure, sometimes it is best to seek the opinion of the wider community.
It may cost you some time, but it is far better than the alternative.

Part of the problem is that some people join the crypto business with the mindset that they are going to make it big easily within a short period. So when they see some of these came tactics, they fail to see it for what it is and fall for it because of their impatience.

-  Imposter Websites - If theres isnt a small lock icon indicating security near the URL bar and no "https" in the site adress think twice.
Even if there is a small lock icon still think twice as that symbol does not guarantee security or the legitimacy of the website, it rather shows that messages to and from the website is encrypted, but you can still be on a phishing site. In general, never feel safe when on the internet, and view every offer as a scam until proven otherwise.

Many hosting services offer free SSL certificates, so moving website URLs from HTTP to https is not a big deal just a few clicks. it can only mean that he is a complete amateur behind this site when he did not adjust such a trifle.
I have seen proven scam pages that are done almost perfectly from that technical side.

Also, domain age for example. Of course, it is obvious when is a domain just a few days or a week old, and presents itself as an established service but even that is not a pure parameter. there is a huge offer of expired aged domains. So, it is possible to buy a domain 10-15 years old and run a scam service on them. in this way it passes this kind of check.

There are several ways to avoid being scammed by scam websites. For example, if a website advertises a giveaway or asks you to invest and your money will be doubled, stay away from that website.
Stay away from any unauthorized or verified website that asks you for your login and password, your private key, or your kyc.
As a newbie you have two things to observe before investing in any platform in order to avoid scam victim, at first before investing ensure that the investment platforms is not new platform and ensure that you read the history of the platform first, and don't be over interested to an investment platforms that gives you much interest, so their bonus or interest is what trigger or attracts people to enroll into it. Giving out login details to anyone is forbidden even though the platform you login is useless, don't give it out, i think i really like this courage of not issuing out login details to anyone.

A good platform that is not intending to scam its investors will not guarantee a huge return of investment within a short period. Avoid random projects you see on telegram. They're not recommended unless you've done due research. Another criterion is to know the blockchain they hosted the coin. If they claim to have their blockchain other than ERC20 or Blockchain, then move away from the platform cause it won't help as they may be a scam project

Very well said, the small key icon is wrongly misinterpreted and has led many to be scammed, including myself. Not until after the scam, I research about it.
The best advice is not to feel safe when on Internet according to you.
Everything is manipulatable and maneuverable. Where ever your skills stops is Where another begins.

You can also see visually how they (the scammers) copy/paste the websites. There is actually a long thread on this forum of websites that had a similar design and were all scam sites. And that type of template is still being used by lazy scammers. So be on the lookout for lazy design and the same outline, that's a dead giveaway.

Well, it gives us tougher on us to identify scam websites because we cannot see visually the potential of scams.
I do always check the site upon using it, check how long they have been registered using this tool [who.is] which gives a little clue about the site that you are using. However, there is no safety on the internet, even those popular exchange platform has been hacked and cloning website template is also very common by changing similar character on the domain name. We should always be vigilant in using the site.
Bookmark if you have already access it to avoid searching in google search which is very worst that people will perhaps lead into a scam site.

I do always check the site upon using it, check how long they have been registered using this tool [who.is] which gives a little clue about the site that you are using.
Who.is is great but you can use Wayback machine to trace history of a website. https://archive.org/web/

Some scam teams use old domain names to scam. It does not mean old domain names will always come from legit teams. Wayback machine can help us to check past activities of one domain.

Website is not all and you can look at their design. If it is bad designed, and has many typos in text, it is another bad thing.

You must look at their social media which should have high members and members should be real, not bots. With Twitter, you can check audit score https://www.twitteraudit.com/

Scam projects might have bad website, low members in social media channels and their post, tweets have low quality.

You can also see visually how they (the scammers) copy/paste the websites. There is actually a long thread on this forum of websites that had a similar design and were all scam sites. And that type of template is still being used by lazy scammers. So be on the lookout for lazy design and the same outline, that's a dead giveaway.
But for the record some people still fall for this because some of them never bookmark the site because they like to find it on Google then click. I've seen some people around here who fall for that and it's obviously a scam site because the link address is different from the original yet lazy people doesn't bother that—that's why they regret in the end. He basically typed all of the info to that scam site and hit enter just doing the basic stuff yet didn't bother to bookmark the site which is the most basic if you want to trust a site.

Google search isn't recommended if you're looking for a website, it might be good to make sure that you have landed on the right website always remember the domain name, double-check, and once you've reached it out, bookmark it to your browser.

But Google has a tool to determine a scam website, just search the URL in the search bar and you will know the status of the site if it has a phishing link.
Google’s Safe Browsing.
And Report to Google if you found unsafe browsing.

In addition, make it a habit not to click on links to whatever website. Whether it is coming from an email, a direct message somewhere, a post on a discussion forum, an image, an ad, and so on and so forth. If you wish to go to a specific website, it is better to just directly go there through your browser. If you are constantly visiting specific sites, it is much safer if you bookmark the site. And, of course, make it a habit to double check as well.

To add an extra layer of security, you can also utilize the search bar function on the forum to check if someone had already reported such fake website/giveaway.

Normally, there are accounts who continuously report these types of scams in under the "scam accusation board" where they post all the fake giveaways done by scammers. This will not only contribute to the support of reporting these scams, but you may also report them yourself if no one reported them. Not only do you help the forum grow, but you also help other curious users/beginners in preventing any scams.

Not all scams are like the ones you set as an example. Some scam sites are hidden in plain site. You may think that it's not scam or a legot one but there is a time that they have to perfectly timed to execute the process like your account being banned because of violating their rules and they have the right to hold your funds and you won't get a cent.

This mostly happen on gambling site but there are different ways to scam people like phishing site, malwares, clipboard hijacking and many more. The common scheme is they tell you that your money will be doubled or tripled within 24 hours which in reality it isn't.
