My first bitcoin shopping

I want to fully record my first Bitcoin shopping experience

About a month or so, I joined the Bitcointalk.

At the beginning, I only acted in the Bitcoin sector and the Beginners & Help sector.

One day, I read the post as usual.And I found this post by accident：[Merit] Hey Bitcoiners! Can You Send Encrypted Messages?I have to say that this really sparked my interest. What a cool thing to send encrypted messages.After 3 attempts, I finally sent the encrypted message to OgNasty correctly.（This encrypted message task made me know the name OgNasty for the first time.）

Then I learned from Og’s My 10 Year Bitcointalk Anniversary that he has an online store.Since this is my first time shopping with Bitcoin. I ended up with the cheapest item in his store, a T-shirt.



But due to a mistake in my operation, I forgot to fill in my contact information.Fortunately, Og sent me an email, I sent him the correct address.

A month later, I received a call from the courier. I was curious at the time because I had not bought anything recently (I have forgotten that I bought this T-shirt 1 month ago.)
Really surprised when I got the package.

This is a shopping experience full of surprises, and also my first Bitcoin shopping experience.This t-shirt is cool！

Transfer bitcoin directly to his Bitcoin address, without using any third-party platform.

Was the price fixed in BTC or in USD, and did you win or lose due to volatility?

The price of T-shirts is fixed at 0.0004 BTC, and the price of international express delivery is fixed at 0.0007 BTC.In other words, this store is priced in bitcoin，has nothing to do with the dollar.

If you want to convert it into U.S. dollars, obviously I am profitable. Because the price of btc a month ago was lower than it is now

Nice - glad you had a good experience. Like many new experiences , shopping with BTC can be a bit daunting, but once you’ve done it once - you can relax and enjoy.
There’s some awesome BTC related goods and collectibles in the collectibles section of the forum. Go have a little look , but I warn you - don’t spend too much , it can become addictive

well this is so good and cheap but i wonder it's transaction fee ? I have only used bitcoin to gambling and after some win streak wanted to send bitcoin to exchange but transaction fee was so high , that hurts me . That is the reason why i believe bitcoin is not our future currency to buy / sell things , maybe some altcoin . But this transaction is amazing thank you for helping to build our future .

The leakage of personal address may be inevitable, otherwise the express delivery cannot be delivered to you.Unless there is a face-to-face Bitcoin transaction.

This is my first Bitcoin shopping. You know that when you do something for the first time, there may be some hesitation or fear.I still felt incredible when I got the T-shirt.

OgNasty is a legit guy,but maybe next time you should use an escrow when shopping with Bitcoins.
I would never spend any BTC without a trusted escrow,and I hate spending my BTC for stuff that I don't need,like clothing for example.
Good job OP,you are a proof that Bitcoin isn't so complicated to use.

My first experience with Bitcoin as a means of payment was from another forum member here, who is always shy to say it and even sadly, he doesn't remember it anymore but that's not an issue.

He asked me to send him something from my home to another home, across the international mail borders and he paid me in Bitcoin. It changed my views about money because I didn't need to even say which country I was from or open any account:)

Cool! I can pretty much relate to your excitement. It's like the same way when we order something online, we will be really excited and looking forward for the packet to come, because i do. Especially, if it's using bitcoin, such a whole new experience! It might be pretty exciting, and glad that it turns out to be okay, you had your first experience went by smoothly and greatly. I haven't tried to purchase anything using bitcoin yet, maybe i should try it too since it seems fun. Experiencing a new thing once in a while.

Yes, nice story. I liked it as well as OgNasty's post to celebrate its anniversary. The only thing I would say to the OP, is that I wouldn't make a habit of spending a lot of Bitcoin. Better to save it, the time will come to spend Bitcoin in the future. You may regret spending much Bitcoin in the future, think about the guy who spent 10,000 Bitcoin to buy pizzas.

Quite impressive experience with Bitcoin, because as long as I know Bitcoin since 4 years ago I have never shopped directly with Bitcoin.  That's cool, and the shirt you bought is cool too.  By the way, the next time you buy and sell online, don't forget to include your contact so that the seller can easily contact you

Well, congratulations for something some wearables with Bitcoin. While we usually forget that Bitcoin should also be treated as currency and not just a store of value, the potential of Bitcoin in eCommerce remains to be good despite some of the known weaknesses it may have...or we perceive it has.

That's his/her call on how to spend bitcoin, I know that you're looking out for OP but OP is an adult and I think that OP knows the consequences of that decision of spending the bitcoin plus if you are happy with what you've spend your bitcoin with, you don't have to wallow or regret it right. And given how OP is in this forum, I am sure that OP knows how to manage his/her bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in his/her wallet.

Congratulations for your wonderful journey. Though after reading your story i feel you are soo happy. I don't have such dream to shopping online with bitcoin. Though if i get a chance i won't miss it. 2nd my dream is if government accept bitcoin i will open my dream supermarket where people can buy products offline and online too. But bitcoin will be the payment method for everything. If you had no bitcoin then will be a bitcoin counter where you have to buy bitcoin first then the bitcoin amount will be send to your wallet. After that enter the market shop what you want then pay the bill. Isn't it a cool idea.

Well we have idea. But government is our wall. Don't know when i can get this chance.

I wouldn't mind trying buying pizza. Buying pizza was discussed a lot of times in here and I was kind of looking forward to buy it with my Bitcoins as well. I might not be able to hold the tempt, but now that you mentioned it also the risks though. So far my only options to buy some merchs for now is by using custodial wallet which isn't really the best option considering the privacy that I want when I use my money, but my country isn't really adopting Bitcoin that much at least at some non-metropolitan area.

Not surprised if OP decides to buy Lambo tomorrow though.
