I got an offer from GPU wholesaler in Guangzhou China today, it's rx580s at 250$ each and I want to buy 10 pieces for 2500$ this will give me 300MH at least, how is this not a good offer? What do you guys think?

This is a very good proposal.
A profit from 1 video card is $ 2.3, which means a payback of 110 days, but you also need to take into account the cost of components for the farm. As a result, 150 days of payback.
If mining is not profitable, then the price of this video card in the secondary market will not be cheaper than $ 130-150.
I would probably build 1 farm for 5-6 video cards, and sell the second farm to reduce the cost of the first farm.
If the quality of the video cards is good, then I would cooperate further with the seller

Too many scams going on around sales from that place, yes it is a good offer for 8gb and that is the issue, not sure if you will end up getting them, also bear market is closer an closer, so not sure you will be able to get at least 30% of the value you will pay for them, if you could get them now yes, closer to your home yes, waiting weeks to get them is hard to digest and if you will really get them is another thing. I would not buy it at all, risking now on gpus is not what I would do.

Those cards are used ruggedly for mining already that's why they are been sold for that cheap, I won't be surprised if you run in some issues when you get the cards, I'd stay away from used 580s because that's what many Chinese miners use in their rigs, a new 580 costs 350-400$ I'd gladly buy those instead

I hope you are using escrow form of transaction? Alibaba and AliExpress offers this feature so make sure you buying from verified sellers, Alibaba has trade assurance protect so if you notice any trash you can get your refund back

If you have no problems with your electricity rate then it is a good offer relatively as you have to deal with the fact that Rx 580 is produced in Summer of 2016 and they have been used for quite some years. If these are not an obstacle for you than 300 Mhsh is a good hash rate for a 2500 USD price offer.

I don't like that idea for different reasons

1. A new rx580 still costs 400$ today
2. You can't tell how many years those cards are been used for mining
3. This might even be a scam, seller can send you bad GPU this is why I don't buy used GPUs unless from a agent that I can trust

keep in mind that the market is quite insane today. it should not be that high if we're on a sane market. i think the seller made a decent profit selling them @250 already, and it is definitely used for years already. if it were me, i'd not take the deal.

If the GPUs are coming from China they are definitely been used for mining, be careful what you wished for, I know they are insanely cheap but you running those cards for few more years might not go well for you

RX 500 series was an updated Polaris version of the RX 400 series released in spring 2017.

IMO, you are better off with the newly released RX6600 XT. Same hash rate as the RX 580 at 40% less power and a 3-year warranty vs a 4 year old GPU run hard in a Chinese warehouse. Those fans will probably be shot. Better resale with the newer cards and GPU availability has already started to improve and it will will improve more the closer the expected ETH POS merge date nears.

The problem is getting this so called rx6600xt for good buck, this card is been sold for 600$ as we speak, that's way more than getting a gtx1660super for 429$ in China right now, so disappointing

Yes with the release of the rx 6600 xt, it makes no sense continuing buying polaris, 6600 is 128 bit, very low electricity usage x polaris, if polaris uses 130 watts, a 6600 will use around 70 watts plus 3 years warranty, no brainer.

32mhs 55 watts is a winner if you look at nvidia lhr gpus.

https://www.notebookcheck.net/The-AMD-Radeon-RX-6600-XT-is-an-Ethereum-miner-s-dream-with-32-MH-s-at-55-W.555371.0.html

I hate low density, reason a 3060ti or 3070 or even a 6800 would be better in my book but beggars cant be choosers.

I have been testing two RX 6600XTs since yesterday.

With minimal tweaking (basically only GPU 1350Mhz & MEM 2250MHz, no voltage tweaks) my result so far:

87.5W for ~ 32MHs (total card power on the wall)

Lol 87 watt from the wall is still pretty high compare to Nvidia cards but way better than Polaris cards for sure, I have 6 gtx1660 taking 320watt in miner software and 400 from the wall, with all risers and CPU, so efficient compare to AMD, anyways I'm glad AMD is doing a great job lately

Not sure why your power draw is a lot higher than mine but I am getting 64w/ea at the wall for five cards mining ETH and still tweaking for lower voltages etc.

Can you even buy new RX 580 these days? Pretty sure they stopped production on those a long time ago. Maybe some old stock here and there however generally you can't buy RX580 anymore. You guys do realise the RX 5xx came out in 2017. So over 4 years ago. These are very old GPUs by todays standards.

I am sure you won't get ripped off by buying from China. However keep in mind these aren't really any decent deals. Their value will tank once mining is not profitable anymore. If you buyer a new GPU at least it'll hold it value better.

I remember selling these second hand a year or two ago and the most I could get was maybe $150 for them.

87 watt is too much, things will be easier if you install hiveOS and use popular presets available in the OC tweak settings or lower core Voltage yourself, 55watt is possible on that card

Thanks,

I was testing my 2 pieces in windows and had no way lower voltages yet.
I have several combos (mb+cpu+memory+ssd+psu)  lying around which can take two cards so I did not use hiveos yet.

I will try hiveos on these combos (with USB stick). I think even with extra overhead / card (mb+cpu+memory takes about 35W) it makes sense as only investment needed is cards.

It's better not to do mining farms this way.
Then you will redo it all.
It is better to buy a Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 motherboard or analogs on the same chipset. Although Asrock or Asus only support 4 video cards, DDR 3 memory and X2 processor are very cheap. If the power supplies are good, then use 2 blocks for 1 mining farm. Sell the rest of the junk.
