I know that 3070,3070ti, 3080 and 3090 can handle 90-92°C on memory temperature and it's been stated to be safe temp for this cards from manufacturers but what about the old Rx Vega GPUs? What is their max safe memory temp? Cos once mine cross 80°C I always get a reboot

On vega its not GDDR memory its HBM memory.   Keep it below 80c and have no issues.

You can't compare 3070s with Vega 56 they aren't using the same memory, 3070s can handle high memory temp more than Vega 56 which is using HBM2 memory, anything over 80 Celsius will give error or reboot

Lol vga cannot handle 70c+ coretemp it will thortle, max temp for stable mining is 68c, 60-65 is safe temp, assuming 65 on the noon, at max temp maybe will spike above 68c, passing 70c is unstable and most likely got crash at max hashrate config

Did you buy those GPUs second hand or did you buy them brand new?

Reason I ask is because its very possible that someone did a thermal repaste job on that GPU but they never replaced those thermal pads that are found on the memory and mosfet chips on the PCB board. Most people never replace them because they are hard to find. So they tear apart and they just put it back together that way.

This generally is easy to spot when your GPU runs at average or lower temps but for some odd reason the memory temp is very high for no reason. I found this out the hard way and assumed it was normal. However I found it odd how 1 GPU had the same temps as another for GPU core but 1 had higher temps for VRM and memory. Then  I opened it up and found the problem.

OP is talking about memory temp not normal temperature 🌡️, my Vega 56 never reach 65°C when mining but the memory temp always reach up to 74°C max, I still believe that this is safe for HBM2 memory if norm temp reach 70°C then memory temp should be up to 102°C which will kill the GPU in no time

Your PC will surely reboot because that temp on memory can do some damages to your graphic card, the safest memory temp for Vega cards is under 70°C and temp should be 50°C to 65°C, I've seen mine throttling when normal temp crossed 70 I had to open the GPU and change thermal paste and pads
