Since new 3060ti and 3070 are now LHR what will happen once bear market comes probably by first quarter of 2022? Will one be able to get hands on non LHR 3060ti and 3070 ever again? If non LHR are not been produced anymore won't they become extinct?  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Yes, as soon as the bear market starts and miners start selling their gpus for a lot lot cheaper than msrp then gpus on online stores will flood, meaning, very high supply and no demand, meaning nvidia will have to do something to sell their gpus, meaning they will disable lhr on gpus, also because if nvidia dont make attractive to miners again then amd will have that market for them, also people that are not miners will also prefer non lhr gpus because if a bullrun starts in future they might sell them higher.

Truth is nobody will want a lhr gpu because the resale value compared to non lhr is and will be very low.

Probably not new Non LHR GPUs but I'm sure you will be able to find used non LHR cards from miners you can't keep up with bear market probably because of electricity bills

Nothing is impossible just difficult. It could be as simple as tweaking the algo if Eth chose to do it.

But I don't think LHR wil survive long term. It's just a short term PR stunt to makes gamers who hate miners happy
during the supply shortage. Once there's lots of supply it won't make sense to manage the multiple SKUs anymore.
LHR GPUs have lower inherent value than non-gimped due to the smaller resale market. Gamers who have the choice
at the same price will choose the non-gimped version. The market will eventually kill off LHR if Nvidia doesn't do it first.

Well as you can see it's becoming a reality, my prediction is 💯 lol it's only a matter of time before these LHR cards find a way out of their prisons   Grin  someone a Dev or something will have ways around it no matter what Nvidia do to them, years back in 2011 you can turn a Nvidia quadro GPU into a real gtx660ti or other through modded drivers anything is possible.

There are still a lot of RTX 3060 ti non-LHR in circulation and you can find them easily in Ebay and other marketplaces.I don't think their supply will run out as there will always be people willing to sell them at a certain point in time.Of course it won't be easy but it won't be impossible either, patience is key and buying at the right time is another vital element, like people who bought Rx 5700 XT for very cheap during early 2020.

Most likely the LHR is just a temporarily measure until the supply meets the demand, especially for all the gamers. The reason why Nvidia did this is because for the last year gamers have been complaining to Nvidia to do something to prevent their GPUs being bought up by scalpers and miners. They don't want to pay inflated prices on already an expensive GPU. Some even threatened to go with AMD if Nvidia didn't do anything. So to make gamers happy they did this LHR type of GPUs.

Its obviously going to be temporarily because when supply finally meets demand and gamers are no longer complaining then Nvidia won't want to lose sales to AMD because miners still generate profits for them. However with covid the supply of chips is constrained and this can go on longer than expected. Hence they had to take some proper measures and prevent their GPUs being bought up by miners.

I don't think that Nvidia will stop making Non LHR GPUs in future and moreover once bear market starts it won't matter anymore because the market will be flooded with lots of GPUs so there won't be need to keep making LHR GPUs
