Matrox Video Announces LUMA Graphics Cards

Video technology innovator Matrox Video today announced the launch of its new Matrox LUMA series of graphics cards with Intel Arc GPUs. The series consists of three single-slot cards: the LUMA A310, a low-profile fanless card; the LUMA A310F, a low-profile fanned card; and the LUMA A380, a full-sized fanned card. Matrox Video developed the LUMA range to satisfy significant demand in the mainstream graphics market for driving multiple screens, with a balance between size, reliability, and performance for different applications. The new LUMA series is aimed at high-reliability and embedded PC applications in the medical, digital signage, control room, video wall, and industrial markets.

As I observe prices in the video card markets, Nvidia is forcing its partners to reduce prices for the mid-range RTX 3060-3070 video cards so that they do not interfere with sales of new video card models. Intel doesn't have that performance yet, but they can offer competition at a lower price point.

AMD boasts low prices for video memory

and Intel sells the cheapest 16 GB graphics card. But as always there are problems, and if you want to play old games, then you need to install additional software, such as DXVK, which officially does not work with Windows, but in reality it works.

Now I will look at the INTEL ARC A770 video card through the eyes of a miner.
https://www.hashrate.no/gpus/a770
In the calculator, the price of the video card is $349, but this is a slight inaccuracy. And even if you buy this video card for $339, it will not greatly affect the payback in mining.
Payback is more than 10 years, if you look at the calculator, then it is 15-20 years, but it does not matter.

Maybe such a video card with 16 GB of memory is suitable for graphic design.

Great price cut from Intel.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/other/intel-slashes-arc-a750-s-already-great-price-to-just-199/ar-AA1bDpAY
Intel’s Arc discrete graphics cards aren’t unseating Nvidia or AMD for pure performance any time soon, but they are some of the best GPUs on the market in terms of value. In fact, the Arc A750 is our pick for the best 1080p graphics card for ray tracing. And that was before a recent price drop: Initially $289, the A750 was permanently dropped to $250 a few months ago. Today it looks like the card has another big price drop, all the way down to $199.99.

Intel is ending production of a graphics card that it released less than a year ago. Arc A770 16GB Limited Edition will be discontinued
We are talking about the reference version of Intel itself. It will still be possible to buy similar models from other manufacturers. In particular, such cards are produced by Acer and Gunnir.

Probably, such decision of Intel is caused by weak demand. Recall that there is also an Arc A770 8GB on the market, which is much cheaper, and a video card of this class does not always need additional 8 GB of memory. In particular, Arc A770 16GB in Europe is now asking for 360 euros.

Intel ARC AI image generation gains performance thanks to optimized drivers
Intel sees an opportunity in promoting Arc A7 GPUs for generative AI.
The Arc Alchemist GPU’s performance may not be up to par with the RTX 40 and RX 7000 GPUs in gaming, there’s still a lot of work to be done in that area, but Intel sees a lot of potential in generative AI powered by their architecture.

Intel Arc GPUs are actually quite cheap right now. The most powerful one, the A770, is usually available for less than $300. The 16GB variant could be of interest to users who are looking for an affordable GPU for Stable Diffusion, one of the free generative AI models available for everyone to use.
