An enterprising brother-sister team in a North Dallas suburb are pulling down as much as $32,000 a month by eschewing the lemonade stand and focusing instead on mining Ethereum.

Ishaan Thakur, 14, and his sister Aanya, 9, have seen their college fund swell this year after they began mining in March with an old gaming computer.

That first month, they made $1,000, reports the Dallas Morning News. The numbers have soared since then.

With interest spurred after hearing their father talk about the rise of cryptocurrencies, the pair initially wanted to invest in crypto, but it was already too expensive, so with the help of YouTube and their father, the ninth-grader and fourth-grader learned how to mine. They’ve reinvested their earnings to buy additional equipment, signing up for supply updates (generally graphics cards) from nearby electronics stores to fight this summer’s chip shortage.

They currently have 94 processors mining—making about 9 billion guesses per second at codes. When they get it right, they’re rewarded with crypto.

Their business, which they named Flifer Technologies, was initially housed in their garage, but as it has grown, they moved most of their rigs to an air-conditioned data center in downtown Dallas. They keep 30 cards in the garage setup, however.

Between the two locations, they spend about $2,500 a month on energy bills. While they’ve sold some Ethereum to cover expenses like the hardware, power bill, and rent at the data center, they’re hanging onto the majority of it, hoping it continues to grow in value.

Ethereum has been on a tear this year, increasing in value by 334% since the start of the year, according to CoinDesk.

Amazing, that brother and sisters were seeing the technology as the future. that's a lot for the people who are still under 17 years old. Glad to see that even some children were also seeing crypto as the future of technology.
I just hope that if that brother and sister will be spending a few percent as a budget to did expand for its mining by increasing the mining rig.

At this age when children love to only play, these two kids are earning the sum of money which most of us here are not. Thanks to the Dad they both have now secured their future. I do not think they will need a college education if they continue earning the same amount in the future too. Another example of how cryptocurrency can change your life? It is a really interesting story! I like stories of success, nevertheless, sometimes they make me a bit envious. On the other hand, I also started investing at a young age. At 14 I started learning about investment in general. First of all I learned about the stock market, but I couldn’t invest because it required 2000$ to enter this market in my country, but then I got know about crypto where I could start even with 100$, so I tried this market.

What can we say? it runs in the family.

Nevertheless, this kids are still very young, and without their father to help them out to build their first mining set-up, they wouldn't be successful. Yes they might have the hardware already because they are playing computer games etc, but without the father egging them from behind, those two wouldn't have the correct mindset in the beginning. So kudos to their father for teaching the kids are early how to make money and invest on crypto.

Used their money into something worthy that is why they are getting huge returns back, and they should have invested a lot to built the rigs so its better if the article how they gained the capital as well and my guess is that they just invested from their hand not from the profits they made from mining.

That's some big news for these two very young kids. Kudos to the children's parents for bringing them up so well. When I was their age, money making wasn't even in my mind. I was content with playing games and doing childly activities.

Sorry, but I will add a little bit of bitter to this story of success.

I was never in mining, but can someone explain how to earn $1000 in a month mining Ethereum, using old gaming PC ? According to https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/eth?, they need to have around 500Mh/s to be able to earn $1k in one month. Is single PC able to produce that? I went to https://2cryptocalc.com/, selected 1Qty of NVidia 3090 (I'm not a pro, but greater model number means powerful model imo), and it showed that I would get around $9 for a daily mining. But to be able to get $1k, I need to get $34 per day. That means I need 4 NVidia 3090. According to google, one NVidia 3090 cost $1.5k. A pc with $6k worth GPU does not look like and "old gaming computer" to me.

Thats right. At that early stage I dont think some kids will focus on something like crypto. But ages are changing now, as we see a lot younger ones whom exposed on crypto like mining and gaming due to the locked down and no source of enjoyment but online stuff that found on the internet.

I guess their parents are so proud of them. Even myself, Im sure during that time my only concern is playing games, online or not and focusing on study.

Read the article carefully, it mentioned how many hardware they have, and it's probably enough to have such income, besides they have open/registered a business for this to br legally taxed.

One thing I like about cryptocurrencies is that their price do go up, many of the gain that people are making are passive income, even miners are making passive income very well too, they will mine, not sell but hold, the price of the coin will be low before, later the price will incresse. In the very massive bull run that happened from last year until bitcoin was over $60000 was great, many people become rich, which is the good reason to hold. surprised. at such a young age they started such a good business and are earning such a huge amount through crypto. I really liked their strategy. Ishaan and Aanya reinvested their profit which increased profit and today earning $32000 a month.

I will never be surprised by the farming they will do on Crypto, because it is a job that requires sufficient skill and equipment so there is no need to be surprised to see it, especially people who do not have expertise in that field.

This is probably the best future that their father could give to them I mean today giving your child a knowledge on how to deal with cryptocurrency is such a big advancement for a child to adopt the future advancement that may come in the future of currency. The thought that these children were making already a $32,000 a month is quite amazing and their father did a great job by educating his children about cryptocurrency.
