They obviously hit it big in hindsight, but would you have called that move smart when you've heard it then? Also...

In 2017, CNBC spoke to the Dutch family of five when they were in the process of liquidating their assets — from a profitable business and 2,500-square-foot house, to their shoes — and trading it all in for the popular cryptocurrency and a life on the road.

Nearly four years and 40 countries later, Taihuttu and his family still don’t have bank accounts, a house, or all that much by way of personal possessions. All of the family’s savings remain tied up in highly volatile cryptocurrencies.

I don't think there's a lot of people who would be into that lifestyle, or would be willing to drop their entire lives for that matter. If you ask me, this probably had a lot to do with wanting to live life on the road, and not just trust in Bitcoin. It's fun to think about, and I'm glad it worked for them, but I imagine they're in a miniscule minority.

I'm glad that their strategy had worked. Otherwise, they might had lose all their assets all for just a single mistake. For me, what they did is totally a very big decision that brings a lot of risk. So i won't suggest doing that as it would make your whole life miserable when things won't work out for you. It's still better to invest only on the amount you can afford to lose, be it small or big.

However, risking your assets is not that bad. At the end of the day, it's your own decision that will prevail. If you lose, you should be ready for its consequences, but if you end up making huge profits, then everything you started is definitely worth the wait.

What they did was absolute madness but at the same time a full faith that bitcoin will go up to multiply their investment. I think it's not advisable to do that, remember that it can't happen to everyone and you don't know what's going to happen to you when you go all in. Invest only what you can afford to lose and life is not a race, take it easy.

Depends on how you see it but I would actually advise that a person must at least invest into cryptocurrency. Its price history is one of those factors that keeps my motivation burning. Even when I see dips on its price, I always look at the price history and its current price.

Now, if a person thinks that investing into BTC is madness, then he/she has really no clue on what cryptocurrencies are. With the fork of BTC happening in a few years from now (following the trend of all forks), its price may skyrocket once again.

Agree, creative guys and crazy geniuses are those who like to take a shortcut beyond the perception of the majority of the crowd, they seem to be in a different dimension and only such things can pressure for them to develop and challenge their current capabilities, some successful geniuses will make their name as legends in that field. Legends are not seasonal produce and vegetables, from small to large, we have separated and distanced ourselves from such people, trying to live as part of them is just suicide, admit such a sad thing to be better at investing

Investing all the money in cryptocurrency is fully madness in my eyes. Because no one can guarantee that any coin price going higher or down. Though Bitcoin is a potential and popular coin but investing all the money in it is not a good decision. But anyone can invest some percent of money in it. Im future it will be give him/her a good profit. But if anyone invest all the money and the price going to down then the person can get a heart attack. So avoid invest madly.

I assume you are asking whether it's beneficial or not to invest all your assets into Bitcoin. Well, I actually would prefer diversifying the assets to safe and "profitable" investment opportunities rather than putting all my  eggs in one basket. Putting all in one basket basically increases risk for the investor even though the investment may be considered safe. We live in an uncertain world, one of the best ways to deal with uncertainty is to diversify or decentralized just in incase one part has issue you can depend on other parts.

Putting all eggs in one basket could be considered gambling or taking big risk.

Upon deciding whether you will invest all of your assets in bitcoin, you should first take consideration of the time and the current price of it. If you don't want it to go to waste, then make sure you invest while the price is still low. It will only be beneficial if you know the right timing with regards to buying and selling. You cannot just randomly decide that you want to invest in bitcoin, see the news first, read articles about bitcoin's price changes and then make up a decision whether it will be beneficial if you'll invest at that time or it will only make you lose a lot of money.

I won't agree with those who sell all the assets to invest in Bitcoin. I always prefer to invest the amount only you can afford the loss. This isn't only investing in Bitcoin at all, investing all the assets in Bitcoin means you are gambling with your life. We can't and shouldn't expect always an uptrend Bitcoin price. We don't know what would happen after a few months or years. Taking a loan and selling everything to invest in Bitcoin is extremely high risk and madness as well. This time he gained, but if others follow him they wouldn't be lucky enough of this guy.

What you people say about this topic ?
Should we invest just like them or should start with a less amount ?
First and foremost, you should not invest like someone else, you should take/make your own decisions in the crypto network via carrying out your own research, that's the only way you can invest right, if you invest only cause someone did and make ROI, you are most likely to lose your funds. Having said that, you really should not be selling properties or taking loans to invest in Bitcoin, it could pay of, but it's way too risky and irrational, you should only invest with your money, and with an amount of your money you wouldn't mind losing, Bitcoin is not a get rich quick asset, and it's ROI is usually in the long run, and it's always good to have that at the back of your mind as you invest.

Very well said. Only investing what you can afford to lose must be applied at all times to prevent the risk of losing everything you have. It is not a wise decision, and even more so to take liabilities in order to make an investment that do not have an assurance in its feasibility to bring back profits. I believe that it is also among the most misconception about bitcoin where people treat it as an instant short-term way to get rich.

A lot of newcomers have the notion that getting into crypto is the easy way to get rich. But come to find out, that there's no easy way to gain huge profits. In this market, it is always better to invest what you can afford to lose because of its nature. Not all traders know what they are doing at the beginning of their journey here. Usually a lot have high hopes to get high returns at short period of time.

I thought it was stupid to do that ...back then...and I still think it is stupid to do it. I do not mind if they bought at $19 000 and the price skyrocketted to $60 000... it is still a life changing risk to go all in. The Bitcoin price could have collapsed and then they would have lost everything they owned.

Also, you do not go all in when you have a family to feed. I always tell people to have a balanced portfolio and never to go all in with any single investment. Just manage the risk to take a small portion of your disposable money ...and invest that into a high risk technology like this.

I thought investing in Bitcoin slowly was the ideal before, but I'm changing my opinion because to invest only small amounts in Bitcoin was a big mistake! I should have sold everything I had and put all my money in Bitcoin that I wouldn't regret later. I just did the opposite and now I regret a lot for that. Sometimes not risking money is worse than risking it.

But it's not totally over yet. I believe Bitcoin is going to hit at least 100,000$ by next year, so it can be still a life changer. If I was adopting crypto currency right now I wouldn't mind in investing all my funds in Bitcoin. That is a calculated risk considering how many people are focused on it, especially the wealthiest men in the world. There is something really special in Bitcoin, otherwise these people wouldn't give any importance at all.

maybe for now I will not save all my assets for bitcoin because the price is too cheap and automatically the selling price will be very cheap in the stock market, but I will be more interested in buying at a high price because we will be more profitable by buying with an expensive price instead of having to buy at a low price like a few years before, with a high selling price the purchase price will automatically be high too

You'll only know if it's cheap if you have already invested, your basis is the value you purchase and as an investor, you always make your own target profit so you can make a plan on when to sell your holding. Try to analyze the market and its future, if you believe that bitcoin will reach $1 million one day, then buying at $48k is very cheap already.

What you people say about this topic ?
Should we invest just like them or should start with a less amount ?
as Bitcoin came down in past months . it can be a great loss for those who invest madly !
Must drop your suggestion !

That family has a great risk appetite for selling all their asset and convert it to Bitcoin. I don't know if it's true or you're just exaggerating, but the most appropriate way to manage your investment is to put money what you can afford to lose.
That family may have earned a very huge profit, but I won't recommend it to anyone who starting to invest in cryptocurrency to go all in.
When Bitcoin experienced a sharp correction, it cannot be considered as loss IF you're not selling anything.

For people who dare to take risks, they really regret not selling all their assets to buy Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin always goes up in price, so we can imagine
when we sold everything to buy Bitcoin in the previous year, maybe today is already rich. As I said, this applies to people who are willing to take risks.
For people who are cautious and always looking to be safe when investing in Bitcoin, investing slowly in Bitcoin is still the ideal thing to do. Indeed,
the profit generated is not too large, but minimizing risk is a very good thing to do. So back to each of us, what kind of investors do we want to be?

Maybe share a link to this report, if still available? That story seems too crazy to be true, might be fake. Although, people do crazy stuff in chase of money.

What can I say, that’s a very risky move and I wouldn’t suggest anyone do the same. Yes, Bitcoin has great potentials day it is a wise investment, but to sell all assets? Just from the probability point of view, that’s irrational. Anything can happen, and in such a case, you’d lose everything. Invest a part, a half, heck, invest 75% of what you own, but leave at least something as a reserve.

Always keep in mind that investing means that we are willing to have additional money from the profits, save our free money, and also be ready with the investment itself if someday it will lose forever. 'that si why I personally will never put all my assets into Bitcoin. Although I love Bitcoin and I know the worth of Bitcoin, and I also know how we can get very big profits from Bitcoin, it doesn't mean to put that high risk to put all assets into Bitcoin. Because I really cannot afford if those will lose someday.
However, it may be different from that family thought. They may have been ready with all risks. And they re sure enough with the investment. WIth that kind of investment, I am pretty sure that they have taken the profits but are still ongoing for further investment.
Money management is very important here, and I am sure that the family also has done the money and risk management, not only taking that high risk.

A USA family sell all there assets and with that amount they invest in Bitcoin in 2019. as in 2021 BTC was on its peak ! So they get huge profit.

This is a case of one putting all their eggs in one basket, though may seem beneficial, but is relatively dangerous and unadvisable because you may loose everything at a go. What some smart investors will tell you is to diversify, that is spread your money into different good investments which is better.

With all due respect to those who encourage others to do risky things for the sake of Bitcoin, I think I don't agree. The likes of Michael Saylor, for example, would even nudge others to sell their house or take a loan for Bitcoin. I don't share such confidence.

Having said this, I don't think we should invest the way this family does. I'm personally against going all-in in whatever investment. I'm in favor of investing only what you can afford to lose and that your investment should be diversified. This is a world of uncertainty. Everything's possible.
