Previously, I have explained the origin of the name of Bitcoin since this word can be divided into two parts, one is ‘bit’ and the other is ‘coin’. We can understand the meaning of the latter simply, such as 'cash' or 'currency', which is also the currency attribute of Bitcoin. In terms of the former, 'bit' is the smallest unit of information used by computer: binary.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bit

'Bit' constitutes the foundation of the entire information computer industry where it is the smallest unit composed of 0 and 1. The biggest leapfrog development of human civilization in the last five decades is based on computers and the Internet. Bit constructed the information network of humans, and Satoshi Nakamoto is now building a brand-new value network with the information network as the cornerstone.

Hence, I concluded that Bitcoin is created not essentially for human use, but for computer use, that is, for machine or artificial intelligence. It is essentially a currency of the computer world, representing the evolutionary direction of a new civilization of mankind---Digital Civilization. This is why I call it Bit Civilization.

Bit Civilization is, in nature, digital civilization, machine civilization and Silicon-based civilization. Bitcoin allowed mankind to evolve from Carbon-based civilization to Silicon-based one, it's a switcher. So what are Carbon-based civilization and Silicon-based civilization?

  • Carbon-based civilization is built with Carbon-based organisms as the main body. The proteins, nucleic acids, sugars, etc. of life materials on our planet are all formed with Carbon as the skeleton, which makes up lives on the earth. So the current human civilization is Carbon-based.
  • Silicon-based civilization is built with silicon-based organisms as the main body. Computers employ Silicon as the chip. If this computer grows more advanced, it may develop into a smart computer, which is Silicon-based life. Therefore, a civilization formed dominantly by Silicon-based lives is Silicon-based.

Will Silicon-based life forms exist or be born? In my opinion, they might be naturally evolved on the earth or alien civilization exists which are full of Silicon-based lives.

Providing we talk about Silicon-based life 10 years ago, people might deem it rather distant. But, now looking at the achievement of AI, We will find it closer for AI to have life and produce wisdom. This is a video of the Boston Dynamics BigDog. Fairly flexible!

Boston Dynamics: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Dynamics

And AlphaGo is gaining top wisdom a well. At the 2017 Future of Go Summit, the Master version of AlphaGo beat Ke Jie, the number one ranked player in the world at the time, in a three-game match, after which AlphaGo was awarded professional 9-dan by the Chinese GO Association

AlphaGo: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AlphaGo

More and more intelligent robots tell us that we are getting closer and closer to the world of science fiction with increasing AI showing up in daily lives. At present, they are equipped with merely weak deep learning ability, later they may obtain qualitative wisdom through the accumulation of quantitative changes at any time.

Satoshi Nakamoto's invention is factually a currency not for humans, but for machines. Perhaps that is the reality of Bitcoin.

In the Internet age, you don’t know if your chatting partner is a dog. In the blockchain age, you don’t know if your trading partner is a machine. In one decade, when more and more AI machines participate in the production and distribution of human civilization, growing number of people will reach a consensus on the fact that human society is evolving from Carbon-based civilization to Silicon-based one. Satoshi Nakamoto, by creating Bitcoin, completely opened the door to Silicon-based Civilization for mankind.

I have always been emphasizing that the creation of Bitcoin by Satoshi Nakamoto is not just a technological or financial innovation, but a wholly formatting for the old world and establishing of a thoroughly new human civilization, a true creation and rebirth.

That is the beginning of mankind's evolution from atomic physics civilization to digital Bit civilization, the stirring of upgrading from Carbon-based civilization to Silicon-based one. Bitcoin will completely push mankind into the era of Machine Civilization.

Bitcoin and blockchain are not directly for humans, but for AI machines. On condition that we merely think about them from the perspective of human beings, then we will never grasp their true meaning.

A dog cannot truly chat with people on the Internet for the lack of shared language. But in the time of blockchain, it is possible for a machine to transact with humans because they do have a common language. Humans will live with machines in an era of symbiosis and co-prosperity.

The world we often see in sci-fi movies will truly come to reality. Bitcoin is the cornerstone of human civilization’s entering a new digital civilization, and all this stems from the moment when the great Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin in 2009. In a century, when Silicon-based life forms with intelligent robots as the main body have been fully integrated into the production and distribution of human society, they will look up to Satoshi Nakamoto as the father of robots because he gave Silicon-based life forms the right to participate in social production and distribution through the creation of Bitcoin. That is the greatest significance that Bitcoin brings to human civilization, representing humans' stepping into a brand Bit Civilization.

The new era of mankind will be rewritten, and human civilization will designate 2009 as the first year of the Bit Era to commemorate that we have truly entered a brand new era, and human civilization has undergone a brand-new enhancement. That is the only way for mankind to avoid doomsday.

What do you think?

In my opinion, you are exaggerating a little about the so-called silicon civilization. All life on our planet arose from the interaction of mainly four chemical elements - carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen, which form the basis of organic chemistry and the basis of life on earth. These are the lightest elements and it is believed that during the formation of the planet Earth, due to rotation, they ended up on the surface and formed the basis of organic life that we have now. On the other hand, the existing life can be characterized as a way of existence of protein bodies.
There is an opinion that life could exist on the basis of amino acids.
What is described here as the transition from a carbon-based human civilization to a silicon-based human civilization actually means a transition from a human civilization to a civilization of artificially intelligent machines. Of course, technological progress cannot be stopped. However, you need to be very careful here, since the artificial intelligence of machines can become hostile to humans and a lot of films and books have been written about this, so far as from the field of science fiction.

Yes, what I want to express here is that the current human civilization is transforming into an artificial intelligence civilization, because the current computer chips are made of silicon. This is also called a silicon-based civilization in some science fiction novels. Let's take a look at the video of Boston's latest robot, which is more and more like human beings. Many people who saw this video sigh on the one hand that the current robots have evolved too much, and on the other hand they will feel scared. Would such a powerful robot take up weapons and aim at humans? Harm human beings? I believe everyone will have such worries. This is the knowledge of ethics and sociology. I believe that the future of artificial intelligence will also be bound by smart contracts, while using digital currency and owning Bitcoin. Whether we like it or not, this era has come. The key lies in how humans will deal with the relationship with artificial intelligence in the future.

Switching from a carbon based life to a silicon based is rather impossible in my opinion, I don't know if there's a scientific backing with my disagreement but carbon and silicon are vastly different elements and switching it will definitely mess with the basic human chemistry.

I appreciate that you at least put the effort in making those topics but at the same time you're theorizing a lot without looking at the main problems with your theory.

- robots are not lifeforms
- robots will be far more dependent on other materials than silicon to become truly independent
- most important since you're focusing your theory on chips, silicon-based chips have already starting to hit their limits, so no, they are not the future not even for human usage, let alone an intelligent robot a hundred years from now on
What I find highly ironic in this topic, and this is the only reason while I'm actually interviewing is that carbon nanotubes are in fact seen as an evolutionary step away from silicon, so...

Other than that you're making the same mistake people did 100 years ago when they've tried to envision their world based on steam,  balloons, and propellers.

50 years you will find silicon chips just as funny as using 10 floppy disks to store a picture.

Common, these exaggerations are getting tiresome, it's like Satoshi was Jesus or God, if he opened the door then the people who invented chips, the internet, who developed databases, who developed the SHA-2 algorithm, what are they? Oh wait, I know who the last ones are but that might be a nasty surprise for some.

Satoshi Nakamoto's invention is factually a currency not for humans, but for machines. Perhaps that is the reality of Bitcoin.

Satoshi never said anything about AI. He invented Bitcoin to be used by humans, not some hypothetical and currently non-existent robots.

Providing we talk about Silicon-based life 10 years ago, people might deem it rather distant. But, now looking at the achievement of AI, We will find it closer for AI to have life and produce wisdom. This is a video of the Boston Dynamics BigDog. Fairly flexible!

AlphaGo: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AlphaGo

These examples have very little to do with general artificial intelligence. The AI that people talk about today is just a mathematical tool for solving specific problems. The current science doesn't even fully understand intelligence, yet alone trying to replicate it artificially.

The world we often see in sci-fi movies will truly come to reality. Bitcoin is the cornerstone of human civilization’s entering a new digital civilization, and all this stems from the moment when the great Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin in 2009. The digital civilization has been around for decades and it's absurd to say that Bitcoin is the cornerstone of it, because the actual cornerstone is the Internet and personal computers. Without them Bitcoin wouldn't be possible. And Bitcoin isn't even revolutionary in most senses, people had digital money for decades before Bitcoin was created. Bitcoin's innovation lies in the fact that it is decentralized.

This trend is developing very fast. I have become accustomed to online payments. Posting pictures on social media is already the norm. People are moving from the real world to the virtual world step by step. People can communicate freely on the Internet. People initially divide labor and collaborate on the Internet.I think this approach is the end of a human-based carbon-based civilization.

Thank you for your question, here I will express my opinion again. The main point of my article is based on the prediction of the future civilization of mankind, not just based on the description of the status quo. You may feel that there is some exaggeration, but we also have to reserve some possibilities for the future. Today's artificial intelligence is all machines, which simply work for humans. But in my opinion, in the next ten or twenty years, the current artificial intelligence technology will be developed on a large scale, and various self-learning algorithms will be constantly updated, which will promote the evolution of robots, and some may be born. A robot with self-awareness, automatic communication, and self-learning. The core component here is the chip, which is made based on silicon. Therefore, in many science fiction movies, the civilization of robot evolution is called the silicon-based civilization. Here, what I want to say is that some of the predictions in science fiction movies are becoming reality step by step in the existing human society. We cannot deny this possibility. The open source data provided by the Bitcoin network is the food for robots to evolve.
