no, 750w is not enough, a 850w or higher would do.

A miner should never use full psu power capacity for mining, mining is 24/7.

Let's say you have two 750watts laying around in your home go out and buy add2psu and connect them both, you will have more power (1500watt) doing this, will even safe you more money than buying another power supply

If your PSU brand is Corsair or Evga you can safely go with 750 watt power supply.I have one Rx 5700 xt as you can see in the picture below it is doing 115 watt power consumption and it is the same at the wall because I have measured it with a Watt meter. So to do the math, 2 x Rx 5700 at 115 watt each makes 230 watt, 2 x Gtx 1660 at 70 watt is what I have seen but I am taking it as 90 watt it is 180 watt for both of them.Up until now we are at 410 watt plus 100-110 watt the motherboard you are at max at 510 watt consumption which leaves pretty ample space for the PSU,you can run your rig with a Corsair for years without problems.
However if you want to be sure use a 850 watt PSU and surely your cards are not overkill, but if you don't have the money by all means go with the 750 watt one as it will just do the job for your setup.

The power consumption in the miner window show only the GPU ASIC power draw (AMD) - you must add 20 - 40w for the real powerconsumption!!!

For nvidia cards you must around 20w per card to this miner numbers!!!

I'm new to mining I need help with setting up GPUs with 750 watt power supply, I have two rx5700 and two gtx1660 6gb can I power these cards safely with the power supply?

Yes it works.

2x 5700xt real power consumption is 130 - 140w per card = 280w if you have bad cards
2x 1660 consumption is 80 - 100w per card = 200w if you have bad cards

+100 - 150w for mainboard,riser and so on.

so your consumption is:

520w - 630w depends on your settings.

i'd rather upgrade the psu since the leeway is too small. better be safe than sorry, not gonna leave any chance of frying my rig or something like that.

Do not stress your power supply, I repeat don't stress power supply this will make them work properly, if you stressed them out they can do some damages, always make sure you use only 80% of the power supply, you have 750watts that's actually 600 watt, very small for those graphic cards, MOBO and risers combine

I think you should read completely what I write,I said I have already measured them with a Watt meter and the power consumption is the same as shown in the miner. So the values above are correct, max it is 510 watt as I suppose everyone is running DDR4 ram and SSD-s which consume very little energy.

In the end the choice is for the OP to made,I personally would run that 750 Watt PSU if it were Corsair or Evga without any problem and it would run for years from my personal experience with these brands.

To the op ignore every thing written above. That sounds harsh I know but

The first answer to your question should be the question do you have a watt meter?

I can not stress how important having a watt meter is , Everyone mining steady should have one to get an idea of the watts used.

Buy this meter or one like it. Since I do not know what country you are in buy the meter that works for your country.

The meter I show is for the USA.

https://www.amazon.com/Electricity-Monitor-Voltage-Overload-Protection/dp/B07DPJ3RGB/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?

plug the meter into the wall.  plug the psu into the meter.

If you read 550 watts some 750 watt psu will die off.

Some won't.

If you read 650 to 750 watts most every ATX psu will die in less than a year.

A pair of 5700 can pull 245 at the wall
a pair of 1660ti can pull 180 at the wall
a well done mobo can do 50 at the wall

so if running this on the best settings maybe it pulls 475 watts.

If you do linux and only mine with the unit  you can do under 500 watts on a plat/gold psu

but doing 600 on a bronze with shit settings is easy and bad to do.

I won't even get into windows allowing run away watts.  the settings drop and the cards do full power not common but it does happen

That's not bad advice but perhaps overkill for just one rig.

I recommend don't try to push the limits and leave lots of headroom.

If you're building a farm then a watt meter is an essential tool.

One other thing to consider is different algorithms use different amounts of power. If you ever decide to
mine a different alrorithm it could overload the PSU if it's already near the limit.

sure wattmeter is essential.

But a mobo with all components need more than 50w at the wall.

And windows and linux uses the same amount of watts, i have tested with 1 rig same settings in both os -> 880w for both os.

Except you are wrong my linux rigs run off a thumbdrive only.  So your windows rig has to power more ram and drive stroage both taking more power and since windows has more overhead you end up running more cpu power.  My lowest watt system for the entire mobo is 13W….tell me again how your windows OS is same wattage.  Running on less hardware using less power is a linux thing…not windows and its bloat.

Imagine after mining ETH for some months and ETH isn't profitable anymore and you decide to mine ravencoin for example your power supply will give up on you or cause some damages, why? Algorithm like ravencoin draws more power

That is why many psu's explode, new people think every algo uses the same power hehe,  so if it worked for eth then will work for any other coin hehe, also a power meter is always good to have however in some countries it costs a lot and is very hard to find.

It's safer to spend more money to get quality job than trying to avoid spending money and managing what you have which can cause you more damages in future, GPU can die this way or even other components and in the end OP will still need to buy better power supply so why not now? 🤣

Connect 2 rx5700 and motherboard with hard drive to your 750 watt PSU.
Yes, for other video cards 2x1660, buy another power supply unit with two 8-pin connectors. Better to buy a good BRONZE or SILVER PSU 500-600 W for $ 50-70 .
And an adapter for 2 power supplies

General rule is 50~80% draw on a rated PSU supply will pretty much make it last forever.  The closer you stay to 50% the more efficient and the cooler the psu will run.

The first answer to your question should be the question do you have a watt meter?

I can not stress how important having a watt meter is , Everyone mining steady should have one to get an idea of the watts used.

That's not bad advice but perhaps overkill for just one rig.

I recommend don't try to push the limits and leave lots of headroom.

If you're building a farm then a watt meter is an essential tool.

One other thing to consider is different algorithms use different amounts of power. If you ever decide to
mine a different alrorithm it could overload the PSU if it's already near the limit.

yeah but in his case he has a 750 watt psu. and may or may not need to get an 850 watt psu.

15-20 for the meter to really know what is up is cheaper than 150 -175 for a 850 watt psu.

or a bridge and a second 750 watt psu.

You only need run the meter 20 minutes a few days in a row to know if you are close to the edge.

General rule is 50~80% draw on a rated PSU supply will pretty much make it last forever.  The closer you stay to 50% the more efficient and the cooler the psu will run.

This should be stickied if a thread about psus is created.

Most of you guys werent around in 2013...2014 days or so. But back then Bitmain came out with an Antminer called the Antminer S2 and this actually used a regular computer PSU instead of a server PSU. However the ASIC used 1000 Watts exactly and the PSU was rated for 1000 Watts.

What happened? Well a large portion... maybe 20-30% ended up killing the PSU and it had to be replaced with a larger >1200 Watt PSU. I had a few of these all second hand and surprisngly they still functioned for many years. So its hit or miss.

Bitmain claimed that those who blew their PSUs were overclocking and that the Enermax 1000W was more than adequate for 1000W constant 24/7 operation.

So it might fry it running at 100% load or ... it might not.
