I'm new to mining I need help with setting up GPUs with 750 watt power supply, I have two rx5700 and two gtx1660 6gb can I power these cards safely with the power supply?
You need 1kw atleast for safer long term mining, because sometimes spike from gpu at 750w wont handle and crash will occur, if you want cheap psu, buy server one, but recommended gaming psu at platinum rating, dont buy mining psu dedicated

I'm using 1200 watt power supply on a rig that consists of 5 gtx1660 and 1 3060ti and from wall I'm only using 480watt, I calculated this using watt meter, imagine how many power I have left but if I have to use more I will make sure it doesn't exceed 1000watt for GPUs and Motherboard combine, I don't want a dead power supply on my watch

Yes it works.

2x 5700xt real power consumption is 130 - 140w per card = 280w if you have bad cards
2x 1660 consumption is 80 - 100w per card = 200w if you have bad cards

+100 - 150w for mainboard,riser and so on.

so your consumption is:

520w - 630w depends on your settings.

Sometimes the rated power may even exceed the Thermal Design Power.

According to the official GPU specs, the AMD Radeon 5700 (not XT) card consumes 180 watt, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 card draws 120 watt.

Of course, the settings can be adjusted, but there is no information about the algorithms used. The OP also didn't mentioned the model of his motherboard, SDD and other peripherals, so I am assuming their TDP is 150 watt.

Let's calculate the total Thermal Design Power: Roll Eyes
TDP = 150 W + (2 * 180 W) + (2 * 120 W) = 750 W

General rule is 50~80% draw on a rated PSU supply will pretty much make it last forever.  The closer you stay to 50% the more efficient and the cooler the psu will run.

Thus, at least 20% of the capacity must remain free, that is, a 750 watt Power Supply Unit should consume no more than 600 watt for safe operation.

So in this case, GPUs are really overkill.

Running your farm 24/7 requires a stable PSU and generally agree that you should not stress your PSU toward 100% total power usage. The more you put toward this 100% under load 24/7, the higher it will cause failure or breakdown of your GPU card. That's why everyone tells you to leave some more watt as a safety margin. Never cheap out on PSU cause that's the heart of your PC and your mining farm.
