There is no chance for every altcoins. It is depend on the that particular coins background or about the team. There are so many altcons already dead and everyday new altcoins arrive. There are some potential and high price coins i saw but now they have no existence.

Pump and Dump groups can make you money only if you are the one who created that group. In the end there is no way that you could make money being a participant because they are using you to make a profit, they buy before they tell you, then they tell you then all of us make it go high, they first sell it, then they tell us to sell as well, making everyone lose money, mostly do not even tell everyone to sell, just let it be.

The best place that you can check out is still twitter/reddit/bitcointalk trio, those places tell you all you need to know as soon as it happens, it is sure fire way to be informed about everything the moment it happens, and that is how you could make money. However, it's pretty evident that most altcoins are not serious with their development, or they lack the resources to improve the project, therefore I would say that even if they have a chance, they are unlikely to succeed because their chance is very low.

But what about the called meme coins? They are useless, don't offer any useful feature to adopters, investors know about it and still invest on them anyway, pumping their prices to ridiculous levels. That is an evidence any altcoin has some chances of returning decent profit to investors on short run. However I agree with the altcoins options you mentioned and I think serious investors should really stick only with solid crypto currencies.
A good way to check if an altcoin worths the investment is to check for what reason people are using it. If there is a real demanded product behind the coin I would say it's a good investment.

You need to make your own research, rather than depending on third party websites. From what I have seen, many of these websites give out biased reviews. If I want to invest in an altcoin which is outside the top-25 list in coinmarketcap, then the first thing I do is to check their website, forums and social media channels for new updates. If there are no new updates for more than a month, then it is a massive red flag. Another factor to look for is the pattern of trading in exchanges. Look out for patterns that hints at the usage of bots.

As I understand you, you are looking for a short term investment which is some kind of gambling to me. I don't recommend gambling. I suggest you to conduct a long term investment and stick on the well-established altcoins that has been around in the business for several years already. Very good examples are ETH, LTC, XRP, ADA - my portfolio is packed with these coins. I am also keeping a fair amount of Stakenet's XSN in my bag. An underrated hidden gem which I believe will going to pump real big in the coming months.

Accept or not altcoins are closely linked with btc bull run. There is no such thing as alt coin season but btc season. When btc rises, alt coins join the party and vice versa.

Correct, the only ones that could give accurate signals of that type are the ones that know they can manipulate the market, and while this is very common in this market we must remember that this kind of thing is illegal in most countries around the world so anyone that is caught doing something like that risks spending time on jail, so the only thing we can do is to try to learn how to trade as the rest of the successful traders and obtain profits that way.

Yes, you say this is absolutely true, any coin or token has a chance to explode. I have been in this market for a while and realized that not only coins like BTC can give you high returns, but good atlcoins can still be highly profitable for us, no can only be x2, x5 or x10 and there are even more spikes, we can't speculate or judge any project or atlcoin, it's all based on your luck.

How do you determine if it's an actual pump in terms of development, fomo or if it's a purposefully conducted pump?  Lol, I don't think any coin stands a chance, not all 9000 altcoins out there are good.  Totally wrong, it is more accurate to evaluate product aspects and pricing from the market under normal, healthy conditions.  Altcoins will still depend on the bitcoin king.  It is certain, but not shitcoin will stand a chance.
If there was a facility or foundation that could detect the pumps in action first, we could be rich.
