What happened:
Now this game has become a current trend, just like Axie Infinity, which is now widely enjoyed by people who like games, so here I found a phishing site that tries to give 15 DPET even though it is a lie and when clicked leads to enter Phrase/ Seed so you have to be more observant in this regard.

The original site and the phishing site almost look the same except that the phishing site adds the word "giveaway" above the Whitepaper.

And don't be fooled by the scams.

I'm worried about how people who are new to crypto, in general, were introduced to crypto with these types of games. This would make the noobs vulnerable to these kinds of attacks and phishing attempts. So I do hope they find a way first into this forum before anything else.

Any site that ask someone to enter seed phrase is a site that want to scam, even there is a warning while generating a wallet that the seed phrase generated should not be revealed to anyone and should not be entered on any site, I still wonder how people will read this but yet still make such silly mistake, seed phrase only remain to wallet while the addresses are what that can be given out. If I saw that, it would have been a good reason of easily knowing that the site belong to scammers, that they are only looking for who to scam. Nice work $crypto$.

Indeed, every phishing site will always ask for Phrases/Seeds on every website I'm sure there must be people who are trapped in this because they don't have such broad insight that they are ridiculous and maybe enter Phrases/Seeds without realizing it, but at least With this report everyone will know that phishing sites can now resemble any trending project so for beginners there is little awareness that asking for Phrasa/Seed is 100% scam.

I see there are so many phishing sites that have been reported asking for Phrasa/Seed we should look into this topic and others so there will be more awareness that they don't know about.

Newbies that only enters here in crypto space due to this current trend/games will probably become a victim on such scheme. Knowing that it has the same steps to open an account with meta mask or similar. People should be aware of this.

You should have an idea about that website before giving your wallet private key anywhere. Those who try to take advantage of any opportunity in the hope of earning more, fall prey to the tempting offers of such phishing websites. Those who use online wallets should always be wary of any type of phishing websites. Crypto users should know about the proper use of private key. Because those who have an idea about private key will never give their wallet information on such website.

Phishing site and making it look like the current trending thing in crypto, classic method to scam newbies and it works too, sadly. Not only newbies but older people who are less tech savvy will fall for this, not all but a large chunk.

Any site asking you to give your private key, for whatever damn reason - this is the biggest ever red flag possible. There is no excuse to this that the said site would be a scam. Giving away your private keys is like giving complete access to your assets. The person running it will be spending those coins away. For anyone reading this and still wants to do this, please read a bit on how you can secure your coins and avoid getting scammed.

I have seen a big spike of this kind of thing in the recent months since the boom of P2E games like Axie Infinity and My DeFi Pet, a lot of scammers are trying to spoof the official sites, wallets to steal the credentials of the real players. I have seen this damage done, the lowest that I've heard that got scammed was around a thousand dollars and it was a loan or something and now that person is in trouble because they still have to pay the loan but they don't have any way to make the money really fast for the loan.

To be honest the site domain itself looks scammy. Here is the problem understand about subdomain and main domain. I am not sure, but using the hyphen (-) wouldn't possibly create a subdomain under the main domain. Most of us don't know about that and that's why falling into the scam. If we can learn about this domain and extension or subdomain then we can save a lot. Scammers just want to take advantage of that. However, when an unauthorized site asks you to input a seed phrase means they are going to scam you. And all authorized sites should be a bookmark in your browser to avoid phishing attempts.

I have consistently maintained that people shouldn't try to reap where they don't sow. A lot of people do that and they end up getting scammed most times. One of the easiest tricks by scammers is to lure people with the giveaway stuff or bonus and those who have that mindset of "there is free cash on air" will scamper for it and abandon commonsense which would alert them that something fishy was happening.

The hyphen (-) is one of the most exploited symbols to imitate a real domain or create a phishing site, if you are a newbie you will believe it's an extension, if you are not familiar with the URL, domain, and domain extension you will get lost.

As a rule domain extensions are on a (.) symbol like extension.thedomain.com when they use the symbol hyphen (-) it's a domain, not an extension.

You should always be particular on symbols and words there are phishing sites that double the letter to imitate the site, we have seen this on the metamask website where scammers double one of the letters of the real domain like mettamask

Yes they should now the basics but unfortunately many new comers forget to learn this things and go directly on what they think where to earn that's why many fall from this fake giveaways and also this scammers are using facebook ads to scam people and posting that mydefi or even Axie infity has limited time giveaway that's why many got victimized in this attempts. People need to learn that there's no easy way to earn and no one will give them free money since if someone promise without doing anything then tag it as scam.
