EDIT: to answer your question, yes I believe it was the only BTC related door prize. I also have reason to believe it was provided by Trammell Hudson, but not been able to reach him to verify.

Maybe this is coming from my not understanding the value prop of NFTs in general, so I'm curious to hear your thinking around this...What's the logic behind having an NFT of the item that you, as seller/previous owner made?

A random NFT that accompanies this that was minted for the purpose of the sale is almost a negative for me. A fundamental appeal of BitBills, Casascius coins, etc, was that you don't need to have a digital token or key to the item - the value is all there in the physical item, and that aspect of it is part of what makes them so novel and desirable. An NFT just seems like a burden in the sense that it's one more thing I have to keep track of and secure... Like if I sold this 10 or 20 years down the line, is the buyer going to look at this thread and be like "Does it come with the NFT, bro?"

My theory is, the NFT can act as a way for the owner to verify they are the winner of this auction. The bitbill itself could be duplicated from pictures online, but if the winner still holds the NFT it serves as a more trustworthy sign that they are the holder of the bitbill being sold in this auction. This is also a very interesting historical artifact, and this particular bitbill, thanks to my posts here in 2019 and earlier on reddit, and the youtube video, is particularly well documented.

It seems perhaps someday, if the physical object is lost, the NFT is still an interesting artifact (or token rather) of this object having existed, and the value it held as demonstrated in this auction.

Regardless, the buyer can probably auction it immediately and make a couple hundred bucks. NFTs are weird.
