I just spotted this inclusion, it's a good one. I'm sure this would also go a long way to improve the quality of posts made here and also add sanity to merit activities too.

I have checked in the month of November statistics and i confirmed that my name wasn't included in any of categories in the monthly overview and it was not that i didn't participated in those categories started above, and assuming that i put more effort my name could fall within the number of poster, maybe i didn't reach the total number required for my name to be shown in the top posters, the reason why i cherish this particular thread is because it reminds and show me that I'm slacking behind, which i usually pick courage never to slack back again, and probably before this month we run out, i will surely make a different.

After presenting our local board statistics every month, we understand how much we have been able to contribute to the progress of this Nigeria local board. This local board is moving forward in a completely balanced way, here we are all able to contribute in different ways, some by posting more, some by earning more merits, some by giving more merits. In the previous two months, I was among the top ten posters, but after the November statistics were published, my position there has improved further, now I am in the top two. Moreover everyone may still be seeing the new addition called Sheet 2 from you, perhaps these will have a positive impact on the activities of the local board.

Thanks for the update Amphenomenon. I can’t help but notice that there is a huge gap in the sent merits between Igebotz and the other local merit sources. Is it possible that Igebotz has more allocation than the others @Charles-Tim (19), @Smartgold (48), and @Mia Chloe (117)

With what I have noticed before from the merit history calculation, Igebotz is having 10 times merit allocation than me. I do not know about Mia Chloe. I am only receiving 50 smerits monthly which is far not enough at all. I mostly send merit to just topics. Igebotz was merit source before us, maybe theymos might later increase the smerits allocation. There are many good posts that I overlook because no enough smerits allocation.

You can't compare the amount of active posters and the amount of posts we had then to now - we have x5 of the members and total posts now, this was my thread and I statically know the numbers of different eras.

Statically we're ahead of other boards on merits per posts and ranked up table ( I've ranked up more than 100 members since last year). More than 1000+ merits was sent to this board last month, that's 500+ smerits to go around which is not bad imo.

I have no idea where these smerits are cause I only see my merits on most posts.

There are others who were actually generous but the fact that they don't receive from the same board or people they share their sMerits with, they later get discouraged and then their activity and generosity reduces.

Anyway, I will do better in sharing my sMerits but the thing is that for some months now I haven't been seeing much thread that interest me enough to post or other times it has gotten quite a number of replies and I see no reason to make a reply. A continuous cycle of economic that are alike monthly is tiring...

The board is too big to navigate through - use my merit thread for easy navigation or my rank up thread to help.

Merit circulation is definitely low now that we have more than 5 merit sources, it is either we have less quality posts to merit now or people, including the merit sources, are hoarding the merits. If the increase in post count in our local board does not lead to a corresponding increase in merit circulation, then the earlier will be the case. Much appreciation to @Mia Chloe for the love and selflessness to the local board and I hope that going forward, others will learn from him and support the local board as much as they can so we maintain our top position in the forum.

Edit: I noticed that I omitted @Igebotz in the appreciation comment, my bad. He has been the leader in every area both in merit circulation, all my mind was on the newly appointed merit source. Sorry for the omission @Igebotz.

I still write a few posts on the LB board every week, but it is less than before. In recent times, the number of posts on the loan service thread will probably be half of my total LB board posts. Regularly posting the same type of thread is making me a little reluctant to give merit and also affecting my writing of posts. Maybe I am not seeing any good things due to not getting anything in return for good posts! Some steps are needed to create quality posts

In light of your statement, it seems that our Naija Local Board members have now forgotten to post creatively, is this actually correct or do the members here know how to post creatively?In fact, there is a lot of newcomers coming in now which is good and we can see that they are trying to some important posts on this LB based on their own knowledge and there are some merit source members who are giving sMerit freely. So if you want, you can also join there because they are also informative. I have already read those posts because I am a regular presence on this local board.

I disagree with the argument that the post quality of the board has reduced. IMO the post quality is just as good as other local boards with high merit circulation. I visit other local boards and the posts that receive merits aren’t exactly quality according to the general board standard.

I wholeheartedly agree with your thoughts here. Although, the board is getting larger, and there are some members putting efforts to make quality post, however the way merit moves is still behind the growth of the board. To me it seems that some smerits are being reserved instead of utilized as they were intended, to recognize and encourage good contributions.

The fact that I am hearing this from a merit source who rarely gets merit from the board makes it even more shocking on how tight the flow of merit is for the average members. If it is so difficult for someone who is already part of the community as you are, then one can only image how difficult it would be for someone else who is also trying their best to provide quality posts.

Merits were created to reward value and not to stored. There are members that are trying their best, such as Igebotz, pooya87, Charles-Tim e.t.c they do an excellent job of setting a good example, by rewarding quality posts whenever they come across it without hesitation. This organic method of merit distribution helps to keep the board motivating to its contributors.

If more people adopt that habit, the local board would feel much more supportive and fair to everyone making a serious contribution.

It's not a big deal for me and besides I've not been posting much on the local board for sometime now - too many reports and I barely have time to communicate, I just make sure the community is clean for everyone for have a good discussion.
