How I wish this isn't coming from him of all people, by now ith the level of exposure and business years of experience Donald Trump's had, yet he's one of those criticizing crypto with bully, his level of exposure and recognition accrued altogether has nothing to render in a test of time like this, well that's his own opinion, life is a choice, but the reputation he has has degraded in value by crypto lovers who had earlier beat for Him (fans).
Here is the news below:

Former President Trump Suggests Crypto ‘May Be Fake,’ Says He’s Not Invested in BTC or Other Digital Assets
Daily Hodl Staff September 2, 2021

Former President Donald Trump is not ready to trust Bitcoin (BTC) and other crypto assets.

In a new interview with Fox Business’ Stuart Varney, the former president says he is not invested in digital assets and prefers to place his faith in the US dollar.

“I like the currency of the United States. I think the others are potentially a disaster waiting to happen.”

The global crypto market is now $2.22 trillion, based on data from CoinMarketCap, with financial giants such as BNY Mellon, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and others announcing their plans to enter the space in various ways this year.

But Trump remains extremely cautious and claims people don’t really know how cryptocurrencies work or what they do.

“They may be fake. Who knows what they are, but they certainly are something that people don’t know very much about.”

Back in June, Trump outright called Bitcoin an outright scam. The ex-president said he does not like the benchmark cryptocurrency because it is competing against the dollar.

His remarks came after El Salvador passed a law to make BTC a legal tender alongside the US dollar.

To be fair to the fake news president, very few of the politicians or old-school business people or reality TV hosts really know the difference between Bitcoin and e.g. PayPal or some other digital doodad. Some are just less eager to show their stupidity.

I'd forgotten about former president Trump. Are people still listening to him? You don't have to anymore; he's gone.

Former President Donald Trump is not ready to trust Bitcoin (BTC) and other crypto assets.
Okay, great. He's an imbecile, so why would anyone take him as a source of wisdom on any topic? He's 75 years old, and he still hasn't grasped how numbers work.

Trump remains extremely cautious and claims people don’t really know how cryptocurrencies work or what they do.
"They may be fake. Who knows what they are"
So, in summary, Trump doesn't know what cryptocurrencies are. This is not a huge surprise.

Ironic, Lol, that it comes from a President who was banned from Twitter for "Fake Tweets". Actually, I don't blame him for this, the problem is that some people especially people of his age are quite rigid with their beliefs and fail to understand technology, they think that anything or everything that comes without the support of the government is either Ponzi or fake, but you sometimes these politicians just have to make these comments due to diplomacy as if the government is trying to regulate these cryptos and a former president praises that thing could obviously land him into some heated arguments but yes for Trump we know he doesn't really care about these arguments, infact loves to answers them.  Grin

Donald Trump is not the first or the only prominent individual who doesn't support the idea of Bitcoin and who has said wrong statements about the Bitcoin network in general, I think Warren Buffet is one of such of individuals who doesn't endorse Bitcoin, but then I think Buffet's ideas are quite different, from his statements about the network he doesn't think they are fake like Donald Trump, Trump is renowned for making really funny statements that more often than not hardly makes sense, the more reason why this is nothing to worry about.

Former President Donald Trump is from Peter Schiff's team, they do not believe how bitcoin technology has advanced and the crypto space they are staunch defenders of centralization.
Trump is shown as a great nationalist defender by protecting his currency, the US dollar.
Once I had to share with a friend from the United States about my knowledge of bitcoin and she told me that she was not interested in bitcoin because it has the mission of destroying the official currencies.
For which I stayed on the sidelines and did not insist, but we who are in the crypto space know that the traditional way we handle money must change.

It’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks and it’s even harder if the old dog is not interested in learning any new tricks. Not every business mogul must be a believer in the bitcoin. It helps the world stay sane and balanced. The truth is interest in bitcoin is stronger in younger age groups 18-44 than it is in the older folks who would prefer to invest in stocks and bonds because they understand it. Donald Trump is 75 years of age and he can believe whatever he wants if it worked and is working for him.

all the trumpettes in this forum that support bitcoin.. and trump
which side do they side with now?

do they stay loyal to trump and repeat bitcoin is fake
do they wake up and realise that trump is an idiot.

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

It does appear to be a dilemma... but I'd suggest that many Trump supporters are quite comfortable with cognitive dissonance, and with holding multiple conflicting opinions at once.

Trump is no idiot. He knows exactly how to master the role of a true demagogue like the majority of politicans like the sediment that rises to the top of the sewer.

Well of course crypto is fake, just like fiat. What isn't fake is the fact that there is a whole bunch of privacy and absence-of-banks with crypto. I mean, how can a piece of canvas covered with a few paint pigments be worth $800 million? The value of the Mona Lisa is in the minds of the people... same as fiat and crypto.
