So i posted a video of Hitler making a speech on Fbook to show how good that guy was at making speeches ,then after that fbook restricted my comments and posting.

I don't even support nazis .

There is one thing not to like history , another thing is to try to erase it ...

USA starting to look a lot like China this days ...here in Europe some people like communists ,some don't ...but nobody censor them ...

What's next ban on people that comment : "people should be FREE" ?

The post doesn't show the full context of your post. Nobody knows if you acknowledged the fact that Hitler was a sociopath, extremely evil man. Even if you did, sharing a video from Hitler praising his oratory skills is like putting on a picture of a psychopathic serial killer and how he was so good at convincing young women.

He perpetrated one of the greatest evils of the modern history and the instances are well documented. Facebook is supposed to be a safe place for everyone. Who knows if there are people there seeing your posts who lost their ancestors, young children, mothers and fathers in those days. I don't think they'd exactly be convinced by your appreciation of Hitler's oratory skills. Don't be dumb about this. Its not about your freedom of speech but what is appropriate to be endorsed.

There are enough good orators to make an example of. Obama, JFK, Churchill and a lot of bold, courageous, decent men.

Totally agree with Facebook becoming a dictator's platform, I mean look at how they censor some topics and most of their fact checking are faulty because some of them are too strict and doesn't have any humor.

Well, there's been a lot of debate lately in the US about this very topic, but I'm not holding out any hope that these social media giants (Facebook, Twitter, and Google/Youtube) are going to change their policies any time soon.  Right now Youtube is censoring discussions about COVID-19, and you can't even get your video monetized if you mention certain words.  Some of the videos just look bizarre, because the person talking will bleep/silence out words like "rape" "molestation" "COVID" and a bunch of others.  Everything has to be family-friendly, and if you talk about the pandemic your viewpoint has to be in line with the CDC's.

And OP, I agree with you 100%.  I just wish there was more competition, i.e., sites like Youtube where there wasn't any censorship and where people could still monetize their videos, because much like bitcointalk, people are motivated to post content because they're paid to do so.  Who would advertise on a controversial site with the social/political climate being what it is these days, though?  No company wants its ads to be seen anywhere near a video about Hitler or something that criticizes or questions feminism/Black Lives Matter/LBGTQ/you-name-it.

It kind of does have to do with economics, as there's a lot of money involved with this censorship, which I mentioned above.  If videos weren't monetized and there weren't corporate advertisements, none of this would be a problem.  Hell, I'm surprised AVGN's videos haven't been nuked from Youtube.

Whether you agree if a certain content should be censored or not, the notable thing is— the fact that they can and they're actually censoring content. The fact that they can use censorship to push certain narratives.

it's just a snippet from hitler's video, okay maybe this is a good right because I have actually listened to his speech on several platforms. but on the other hand don't forget that he is one of the cold-hearted governments who slaughtered millions of souls.
the cut may be very good but indirectly it will revive the pain of the race or tribe that was slaughtered, maybe that is one of the reasons fbook restricts it.
Regarding America, I don't think this is appropriate to say with a dictatorship. I think it would be more appropriate if the lifestyle of some Americans who are inclined to things that are unthinkable with reason, so they will be very easy to be managed by people who have concepts.

I am not that mad about censoring, it's as you've said, they're censoring to push narratives that can change the flow of the story. I mean I would love to censor or even destroy any racist or bigot and violent content in the platform but to go as far than that might be a little problematic.

Facebook is ran by a complete scumbag who does not embody the whole progressive millennial concept at all.  So I agree with you there, fck facebook.  However you're completely wrong about America becoming a "dictatorship".  That's just silly to say to be honest, not to mention you do not live here so you truly don't know.  I am American and we are anything but a dictatorship.  America continues to be progressive and allow for more freedoms than the vast majority of countries.  I mean look at your marijuana laws for example, or gambling laws.  We continue to progress in many areas where most of the world has been lagging behind. So no, what you say is absolutely not true.

Now to play the Devil's Advocate ... why don't they censor Genghis Khan or Nero burning Rome and so on ?.... they are evil as Hitler was ... "Political correctness" it's dangerous ,it's same as burning books or trying to erase history, or even worse manipulate people in doing things you want.

For example: tomorrow i can start a movement that is saying it's not "political correct" for people over 30 to live ,they waste to much of the Planets resources.Now let's say i have majority and we are a democratic country , what we do we liquidate people over 30 do to fact  it's not "political correct" ?

Not true that America is 100% free ... McCarthyism , Slavery ,Wars for  "democracy" in Vietnam,North Korea,Iraq ,20 years in Afghanistan and so on. USA has a dark past like all countries.

I agree completely that America is filled with dumb people, however this is the case all over the world!  Our schools are among the best schools on the planet from the very start and our colleges are by far the best colleges in the world.  There is a reason that people from all over the world come here to go to school.  America is not the only place where people aren't believing in science etc.

Unfortunately, Facebook is a centralized service and has terms of use for the service. When you violate them, your account will be suspended. There is no exception to this rule, but the problem lies in its interpretation.
If you don't like them, simply use another platform because there are a lot of decentralized platforms for social networking.
The problem lies in the monopoly of these institutions and their attempt to control the Internet, thus tightening the screws on all other platforms.

Yeah man agreed. Even US fellas doesn't use FB much due to this but we asians have fond using FB. Many of my relatives use this for communication purposes and no other alternatives is quite near to FB's dominance. My old account got banned by mistakenly forward a video which contains a malicious content. No warnings given. They just go straight disabling my account without notice.

Interesting there are plenty of communist content in platforms like Facebook without any censorship against them. Why is communism allowed and nazism isn't by the platform, since they are two faces of the same coin considering the methods used by both regimes?

The case becomes even worse if the posts are just made for historical or educational purposes. What Facebook does is to forbid people from learning fragments and details of past events which forged the history of the modern society.

However, there is nothing we can do about it, because they are a private company and it's their right to choose what kind of content can and can not be displayed in their domains.

You’ve just noticed this? Facebook have very strict policy rules, and you can choose: you obey that rules or are going to be banned. They really have a lot of moments they can ban for and in the registration form you can find small letters where is written next: “ by clicking Register you agree to our Terms, Data Policy and Cookies Policy.” So you’ve agreed with their policy but probably not have read all that millions of letters. I mean, hitler seems understandable. If you try and post covid information they will censor your account. It wasn't until the lab leak theory became mainstream until they finally gave in and allowed discussion of the virus origin. Plenty of people report that if you try and talk about masks, you'll get labels slapped all over your post linking to "official" covid-19 sources. Facebook is a piece of trash and no one should use it, Twitter is the same way - delete social media.

Censorship by private corporations, in general, is definitely an issue that needs to be dealt with. This is the new reality that FB, Twitter and most of all, youtube, have come to wield a lot of influence in the past decade. Nobody was ready for this reality. No doubt the governments and those on top want more power and that needs sufficient checks and balances, yet society can no longer ignore the fact that moderation is the need of the hour. Without moderation, anybody can say anything. It has also been made into a political issue now and a resolution will need a paradigm shift and emergence of some kind of new socially/ politically acceptable philosophy like how things like equality, fraternity came into being.

Till then, Individual nuance is the only answer. Like in this case, if anybody wants to share Hitler's videos with the context of an admiration for his oratory skills, this maybe an acceptable thing to do in a purely academic setting, but it is not suitable for public consumption. Opinion may vary on this but as a society, we HAVE to agree on certain norms. Otherwise everything is fair game and its no better than being animals.
