Gambling is suppose to be for fun but base on your input it looks like you are going overboard that you also have thoughts about it even at school.

It's a good thing you noticed on time you can avoid getting addicted and at the age of 18, you should avoid gambling until you are matured enough to control emotions that are associated with gambling.

I agree with you, I think 18 is the age where teens are looking for an identity to be their character as they grow up, so I think the OP still has plenty of time to fix all his bad behavior over the years, and of course by spending time on positive activities will certainly be able to slightly reduce the desire to gamble, in my opinion now it is better for the OP to prioritize his education rather than having to be involved in gambling so as not to risk ruining his future due to gambling addiction later.

My assessment is you are fast losing yourself, you could go from bad to worse, you are still good at this point because you are thinking of quitting, you still know the harmful effect that is going to come, there will be a boiling point when you are going to lose control, and hopefully, it will not happen, you have done the right thing asking this that means you are not in denial that you are gambling too much.

You have to make the right choice of moderating your gambling activity and you can do that by limiting your time and do other things that you love that can get you away from gambling, hang out with your family you're still young it's time to cultivate new passion, gambling should never become your passion.

Gambling for fun is not a problem if you don't gamble with the amount you can't afford to lose or spend the fund which was meant for another financial issue.

My idea of fun nowadays is booting up NordVPN, going to Stake, depositing crypto into the website, and gambling.

Using a VPN for gambling is not advisable if you want to prevent problems that may make the gambling site freeze your fund.

But its all I can think about sometimes, when Im at school I think about gambling im gonna do when I get home. Spending many hours in gambling, split almost every night, and having the thought of gambling everything even when doing something else is the signs of the beginning of gambling addiction.
Underage gambling is not encouraged, it will be better if you stop and if the gambling site detects that you're underage or using a VPN your account will freeze along with the fund in it.

On my home network, my dad runs a DNS server, sometime this week, im going to ask him to block a set of gambling sites on the DNS, so that its impossible for me to visit said websites. This is the best solution I can think of. Thanks for the advice guys!

That is good if you can ask your dad to block the gambling websites so you will feel difficult to visit the sites. But I think you need more than that to solve your addiction to gambling because, in the other chance, your addiction can telling you to play gambling using a VPN or open the block by asking for help from your dad. Hopefully, you can slowly reduce your time in gambling and use your time for the other positive things.

First step to recovery is admittance. Second step which you have taken is to find help/support. I'm guessing you have already looked through some other online resources before looking for help here. The symptoms you are experiencing now is mild and could easily be nipped in the bud if you want it to.

Lastly every human inherently knows what to do to quit a bad habit no matter what far they have gone or make better life choices. Find a quiet place and ask yourself what you should do to quit. When you find the answers, JUST DO IT.

A very good start for you, dealing with gambling is not an easy task and since you are still young the chance of corrupting your entire mindsets are very possible, with that action that you are planning to do it will help you to utilize or remove gambling from your system, unless you'll remove the site then navigate to another one..

Still very possible that the desire or the urge to play will haunt you so much better to prepare yourself to make a counter. Make sure to keep yourself busy with other things. It may help you to forget about thinking of any possible strategy that will encircle inside you.

You are still young and there are many other things that you can do, divert your attention from physical activities. It will also help you to forget about gambling if you will take things seriously.

Yes, that's a compliment.  
So you have a cool Dad. Well, you have a good way to stop it if he works for that kind of service. But, can you really tell your Dad about it without him getting mad at you? If ever he will get angry, just take it. Parents will forget it the next day and just try to understand we always want the better for our kids, like you.

Wait hold up, you're just 14 years old and you have already engaged in gambling?

I mean, it is very reassuring to hear that you acknowledged your problem at a very young age but when I was 14, my problem was entirely different from yours. Since you are just a teenager, try focusing on things that will help you prevent gambling. To be honest, I also gambled away my CSGO and DOTA 2 skins at a very young age but everything was lost during the process. While you are not yet losing anything, better to stop and focus onto different things.

this reminds me of an MMORPG(ran online) I got addicted to when I was in my high school days. I would constantly think about buying lottery boxes to try my luck of getting rare items that can be sold for a lot of in-game gold. It even came to a point where I would dream about getting great items on the lottery box. at the time I never really considered buying lottery boxes as gambling but now that I am an adult, lottery boxes are definitely gambling no matter which game it is from. anyway, I am not sure how I got over about thinking so much about the lottery boxes but I am glad I did.

You got over that simply because you have grown up in the meantime! It's simple in my opinion, all those vices around are great actually, and overdoing something from time to time can lead to some great experience, it's life and playing with fire! But being aware that it's fire and learning how to play with it and not get burned is a skill, and to come to be a skilled and experienced person you need to practice things, and sometimes that practicing can be great the same as it can be a complete disaster, pushing borders on both sides should always lead to some greater knowledge, if you are able to, if not fire will just eat you!

Still I agree with you because different carypto houses are having different rules and regulations against multiple account hence I cannot say using a VPN IP will not have any problem or will secure you or anything similar to that.

Yeah, this is simply indicating the level of severity of addictions. When you get blocked from continuing gambling then you must need to come back the next day if you are a non-addicted gambler but addicted gamblers will go for by-passing such blocking. Secondly it is high time you quit and concentrate on other thing which kids do at your age like studies, playing out, making friends, watching TV, reading books etc. This will help you and gambling if need to be done, later stage once you earn can do always.

That's a good first step, and hopefully you can control yourself so that you won't get addicted to gambling because it is really hard to get out of it.

I myself was addicted to it very early, but I guess when I mature, priorities has change and maybe I have the mentality to take over of myself before my addiction goes out of hand. And to share, it was my family that help me a lot realised my mistakes and hopefully you have a family that is very supportive as well. Goodluck.

but specifically the age of 18 is no longer the age of children and it is the age of adolescence and even the transition to adulthood, and actually the OP has to see and think that it is beneficial or not.
but with a strong urge like the OP said I think he really needs someone who advises or can go directly to a psychiatrist not to focus too much on gambling.
at least with the advice or going to a psychiatrist at least it can reduce the effects of addiction and can make self-control better.

As I said before, talking to your dad is the right thing to do. "sometime this week"?! It looks like you are still hesitant about this decision and just looking for excuses to postpoint it as long as possible. Go talk to him right now!
However, am not certain how effective dns blocking is going to be for someone who already knows how to use VPNs!
In the meantime, whenever you feel the urge to gamble, just go out for a walk and find a hobby to distract you from thinking about gambling.

I will suggest you pull out of gambling as soon as you can because you are already getting addicted but it's a good thing you discover this on time and gambling is not good for your age. Try to stay away from gambling for some time I use to be an addict before but thank goodness I was able to fight it and I now gamble just for fun and I use less time to gamble now compared to then when I do spend the whole day gambling but now I stay weeks without gambling.

I think you are having trouble preventing your urge to gamble. I think you should ask for help to lessen the times you gamble even if you didn't lost much or win much. Doing the same thing again and again will make your urge to gamble getting worse means you'll be gambling more compared before. Try to gamble less and divert your attention or your mind to other things except gambling.
