Astounded by the amazing success of Bitcoin implementation in El Salvador, anti-social elements sponsored by the USD lobby have started vandalizing and destroying the Bitcoin ATMs installed by the government. The Bitcoin implementation has proceeded relatively smoothly and this has angered those who were expecting it to fail. I don't expect them to stop with this. The next step may be rioters beating up anyone who is using Bitcoin and vandalizing shops that accept BTC as a payment mode.

This is what fear looks like.
The US dollar overlords have been angry and scared from the day El Salvador announced that they were going to accept bitcoin as legal tender reducing their reliance of USD.
The government needs to deal with those damaging public property fiercely to send a message.

According to what they think and what they did to the bitcoin ATMs, if I hate the US dollar I have to attack the central bank and destroy the fiat ATMs, These ATM devices are bought by their money, and destroying the ATMs like that can hurt themselves indirectly. After any adoption, that's completely normal to see some people still defending the old traditional system, but there is a difference between destroying ATMs than this. On the other hand, I don't think if the El Salvador government forced anyone to use bitcoin. This is just a reaction of USD hardliners against bitcoin or there can be some organization behind this action.

The question is who are these anti-bitcoiners really? I would have understood if the war was Civilian Vs Government, but this is first time in history any government has listened to the civilians and put up the set up of bitcoin for them. In short they are also from the side of those who always wished they had world of bitcoin ran by the Government.

I am not sure what's causing them so much hatred and who are they really? Seeing the bitcoin ATM around the town is still dream of many peeps and here we go one dam government does it for you and you go wreck everything off!

Eh does this culture was really common in El Salvador? No one are going to help to save the Bitcoin ATMs and just record the vandalism? This is really bad, seems anyone are agree to damaging the public property. That's not how the protest works this is only make your country looks bad, if you want to protest you need to have a permits of the government, holding protest materials,etc.

Very heartbreaking, and a show that many El Salvadorians are still very misinformed/ignorant  about the new development the president is pushing, because if they did really understand why the country is trying to dump the USD and how this development can advance the entire country, i think they will have a rethink of these kind of attitude of retarding development.
I attribute this sort of behaviour to ignorance and misinformation.

It may also be the case of a few elites in the society who are not happy with the president on this and have started to engineer destruction and instigate violence.

This news would totally slip off the news channels and the media because they don't care about the vandalization by USD supporters. Imagine the uproar, if some bitcoin supporter had destroyed a normal ATM. Media would have gas lighted bitcoin and bitcoin supporters.

This also shows the mentality of USD supporter vs. Bitcoin Supporters. USD supporters are focused more on controlling, tyranny and destroying everything that stops them from being on the top. Whereas, Bitcoin supporters are more supportive, accepting and would be willing to help each other grow.

I assume that there are two possible case scenarios about this accident.
1.The vandals are paid by someone to do this.
2.The vandals are just a bunch of uneducated and delusional people,who think that Bitcoin is about to destroy their way of living,because they don't know how to use a computer or an ATM.

That's just deplorable, no matter how opposed you are, destruction of property and a public one at that is not the way to deliver your message, remember that the more you do this kind of stuff and disguise it as a way to send message, then you're just digging your own grave because you can't bring the point across if you deliver it in violence.

Whenever there are peaceful protests there are also some agressive idiots who end up vandalizing.

It is normal for some people to resist change and also to go against the ruling government, because not all people support the ruling government. It is worst if those people see the President of the country as a dictator and as a result, go against anything that was decided by him and the ruling party.

The thing is..... El Salvador's economy are slowly sinking into a deep dark hole and the US Dollar (Fiat currency) are gradually losing it's value too. The President took a gamble on Bitcoin and it can backfire on him or he might be a national hero, if the Bitcoin price explodes and the Bitcoin holders wealth increase exponentially.  

He is also saving people millions in Banking fees and remittance fees, if they are working abroad and sending money home.

Well, that's just absolutely stupid, and pretty much just shows how smooth the adoption of El Salvador's Bitcoin implementation is. I guess the next step of his plans should be to enlighten people to what actually Bitcoin is? Since destroying BTC ATM's does nothing to damage it's reputation, heck it only serves to show how some people are quite ignorant on what Bitcoin really is. Now if they did actually know, well that just makes them more stupid. Well hope he actually does something to the aggressive protestors, no matter what they say it is still government property at the end of the day.

Have you ever wondered if there might be some other problems there in Salvador?

In 2020 he used gun-toting soldiers to bully opposition lawmakers into voting for the budget for his crime-fighting programme. In May this year the assembly, now controlled by New Ideas, sacked five of the country’s 15 top judges and the attorney-general, replacing them with yes-men. In June Mr Bukele disbanded an anti-corruption body. He expelled from the country a journalist from El Faro, a newspaper which has investigated his government’s shady deals with three different gangs in prison.

Over the past week the power grab has escalated. On August 31st the assembly passed a series of bills, including one to sack all judges over the age of 60. This affects around a third of them, though there are woolly provisos in place to ensure that the term limits can be waived “due to reasons of necessity or speciality”. In other words, loyalty to Mr Bukele will be rewarded. Three days later the top court announced that, contrary to the constitution, a sitting president can run for re-election. Mr Bukele will now be free to run again in 2024—and perhaps, like Hugo Chávez stay in power for life.

When did the people of Salvador demand for bitcoin to be legal tender? Was there a referendum for it?
No, it was a unilateral decision from Bukele, who saw this as a way to boost his popularity in the world.

But I just love it, when it comes to Bitcoin, it must be obedience, if people in Salvador would have smashed fiat ATMs everyone would be cheering for them, for their bravery against the regime. Interesting to see how people can twist their views on freedom and obedience and dictatorship for a few pennies.

* Others will be booing.
* Others will start throwing stones.

I think they are concerned that they could be affected. When a much higher number of people use Bitcoin and only few use fiat, they are skeptic that their fiat could loss value. But anyways, no matter the reason behind this, it is normal that a certain group of people will oppose it (not surprised)

They should not do those action because this has been a LAW now and admit it or not and thy can do anything about that.

Instead of letting this happen for at least a year and try the opportunity , yet this is what they are doing.
I think there is a team behind this that wanted to ruin what the government wanted to go for Good.

If this happens to my country? i will be the first to kick their asses for doing such.
