If I remember correctly, Ratimov had over 100k reports. Some other very active members left the forum, I don't know their statistics, but that's the first thing that comes to mind when I see this downtrend.

Yes, I know. Ratimov used to be very actively with his reporting works. He even reported posts that are very old like many years ago and also created his topic to complain about moderators.

His departure is one of biggest factors that reports drop a lot recent months but I feel with AI waves, there will be more reports in coming months but I don't expect spikes like Ratimov's effects.

Even if he stayed I don't think that report numbers would be much bigger since big chunk of his reports (not only his though) were made for posts that were several years old and it became pointless to report those posts after change in how mods/admins handle those kind of reports (which was a good move imho).

Ratimov is a main contributor of spike in reports in 2022 or 2023, and I read his complains about moderator works to deal with his reports on very old posts too. Then easier policy on plagiarisms, AI tend to make reporters are less interested in making reports. Ratimov wrote that he disappointed about it and no longer wanted to report 'bad' posts.

Ratimov now gone, his account was locked, and recent months, it seems more bans on plagiarisms and AI-generated posts. Hopefully it will give reporters some motivation to get back with their reports.

2000 sent reports per month. It's even worse than I expected. 2000 reports for 167,000 posts published during the same period on the forum. I wonder whether the quality of posts on the forum has increased dramatically, or whether reporting itself has finally died as an activity. Something tells me it's the second option.

Reporting posts from 2018 in dead threads that have already been locked really isn't necessary. Sometimes it seems like people are going out of their way to find stuff to report. Posts that have been edited shouldn't be removed anyway as someone can just edit their post and then report it to try make sure it's fully deleted and people can try cover their tracks this way. There probably should be some sort of statue of limitations on certain stuff because posts in dead threads from years ago really isn't an issue. If you want to report stuff there's thousands of posts made a day by shitposters so it's not like you'll ever run out of stuff to do.

Looks like that we hold the balance the last 6 month around the amount of report s that was made.
Would be nice to know how much was spam and maybe what was suspicious Links and stuff.
But the amount of the suspicious Links is really less the last weeks at it was few month ago.

I have seen it only today or noticed when you hit the " Report to Moderator " button there is now a new note.

That thing was implemented a long time ago, and if I remember correctly, it's been at least a year or maybe even more. Since you are known to report so much, how did you manage to miss it for so long?   

If you ask me, I think that it is a very good addition so mods don't waste time on redundant reports .

As hilariousandco already replied, this was implemented more than 1 year ago. Personally, I was not too happy with this new implementation, as there were (and are) so many low-value posts made in the past... If all of them (or as many as possible) were reported, the forum could have become way more clean in time. But I also understand the perspective of the mods, which would have to do an incredible effort, and also for posts which are not affecting the forum in present, but which affected it in the past.

I used to report thousand posts back then and, perhaps, I made more than 40000 (good) reports (from the entire amount of my reports, which exceed 60000) by cleaning a bunch of topics listed a while ago by Rikafip. For example, in a particular thread I made 1764 reports.

But most of those posts were old ones, thus after that new implementation I had to stop. The current strategy is to focus on the new posted low-value posts and the attempt to combat the spammers from present, not the ones from the past which, in most cases, became inactive.

Dont worry , when i started reporting i was going to first page of the Altcoins section and started reporting the old posts and after a day or 2 mprep got me a pm.
And he was right that it makes no sense to report this old posts , focus on new posts and for sure Malware thigns is also my strategy.

This warning only appears if you report a post that is older than x months or days (I don't know the exact value), so you probably haven't seen it until now because you haven't reported posts that fall into that category. If you try to report the first post in this topic, you will see that warning - if you try to report one of the recent posts, then of course you will not see anything.

For me personally, such a warning makes sense, because it really doesn't make much sense to dig through years-old posts and report them to mods.

Crazy times, you almost single handledly (and mods ofc) cleaned 100+ ANN threads filled with spam. I wonder what's the situation in altcoin board now, are those thread bumping groups still active?

Unfortunately, reporting outside altcoin section is not as successful. Recently I wanted to get back into reporting "game" so I reported one of the obvious shitposts in gambling board for testing purposes and after ~1 week its still unhandled which is a sign that its a waste of time to even try to do some work there.

As Lucius said, you had to try report one of the old posts in order to see that messages and that probably explain how you missed it for so long.
