Period Jul 15 - Aug 14 2018. In this period, 49835 reports handled as good, 1683 handled as bad, 395 unhandled.
Period Sep 13 - Oct 13 2018. In this period, 40520 reports handled as good, 1416 handled as bad, 679 unhandled.
Period Jul 10 - Aug 09 2019. In this period, 35785 reports handled as good, 1295 handled as bad, 1454 unhandled.
Period Jan 25 - Feb 24. In this period, 53968 reports handled as good, 490 handled as bad, 387 unhandled.

Damn just have seen all the numbers from the last years and how much reports there was back in the days.
Will we ever reach this numbers of reports again and was it because some of the bots reports or human made reports?
I guess at this time also there was some kind a lot of spam and shit posts that was reported.
Maybe also that this numbers was going down is that a few stoped reporting.

Would be nice to know how much compared to now what the postscount was that needed to reported.

There's a few factors for the drop off. Some people were using automated bots to report certain things. At least a couple of the big reporters voiced annoyance about either certain reports not being handled or didn't like they way they were handled and stopped. Some of the big reporters also just went AWOL for whatever reason. A few people were probably reporting in the hope of becoming a moderator but new mods are rarely added these days so they probably gave up trying. Reporting is also a time-consuming and thankless task with no real reward for the users so most just don't bother. I think there was also an uptake in reporting when theymos first mentioned he might add reporting badges that never materialised. I think theymos should consider adding them them with some small perks. Maybe theymos could ever consider some sort of financial reward or some sort of raffle that reporters get entered into. Doesn't have to be much but maybe something would encourage an uptake. Maybe for every x amount of reports you get one ticket into a quarterly raffle or something. Maybe it doesn't even have to be a cash prize if you could find some people to donate some rewards, or maybe get someone else to sponsor it. If theymos could give us the reporting stats every x amount of time maybe it could be a community driven incentive that people donate to or someone else sponsons.

For sure there was a lot of new Users when theymos have written that with the badges for the reporters , i remember.
To be honest i guess if this will be coming that this would definitely encourage some users again or even new Users to start reporting.

Creating an new Account and spam with that and with the main Account you reporting it.

If there is a reward, it will be based on the report accuracy percentage as well as the number of reported posts, preventing abuse from random accounts reporting thousands of posts in an attempt to outwit the system.

There are users with thousands of reported posts yet their accuracy rate is less than 70%.

Percentage can be greatly affected by the type of posts you are reporting. If for example you are focused on those ann thread bump group shitposts, your report percentage will probably be 99%+, but if you go outside of that and start reporting bordering shitposts, it will go down

I think that as soon as people are motivated by payments for reporters, the moderators will resign . Imagine how long it will take them to go through all the reports from people who at some point decided to "make money" on reports, but never figured out how to do it right. In the words of Chymist, here on the forum, everything that could be abused will be abused .

I don't see a problem with reports if there are some points that are worth noting and for which you shouldn't expect any perks. Although I think it's easier to send reports from a computer than from a mobile. The latter seems convenient only for reading, nothing more.

Below 70% accuracy is not a problem until the badge/incentives requirements says one must be at least 95% to be eligible.

You must have certain X number of total reports + certain accuracy % score to be eligible ( speculations)- this way the system can separate organic reporters from joblers who just want to make money.

There's no better way to deincetivize (already low) reporting than including the high percentage as one of the requirements for a badge as people will rather not report it than risk lowering their percentage.

When its ever coming that theymos will be include something like the badge for reporting at the beginning and maybe new Users will be dont care about what the accuracy for there reports are.
A high percentage of the reports you are doing will be coming at some stage and if you know how it wshould be done.
You know that and all the other OGs here like suchmoon and many others that are long time reporters.

I think the moderators would rather have more reports that they can handle as just a few.

Making reports is easy from every device , the most are just to lazy to click that button as they dont care about.
And here is the point maybe , we should be figure out who wwe can animate new and other Users to click that button.

Maybe a points system in the backround would be also nice.
Instant of getting payed with Bitcoin for reports it also can be made for getting sMerits monthly calculated what a amount you gave reported in a month.
For example if you have done 100 reports and all 100 are good you get 20 or 50 sMerits.
Percentage-wise, the number of reports classified as bad or unhandled are decreasing.
In addition, it should be possible for the merits to be deducted from your account if all the reports you have made in a month are bad.
This also means that the ranking of the affected users may drop if they are on the threshold of one.
Possibly this can also be changed so that the sendable merits are deducted, of course calculated as a percentage.

An Idea for the Calculation on the reports and to receive sMerits can be:

If you have 100 or 200 good reports without any bad or unhandled reports you will get 50 sMerits.
Calculation can be also done based for 1 good report you make you will be get 0,50 sMerit.

As much as I'd like that, you'll probably see a lot more trivial reports. I could go to Off-topic right now and find hundreds of posts to report. But it feels so pointless to do.

This is not a bad idea and I think this would actually increase number of reports, but if there is any financial reward than we can expect abuse from some members.
If this is ever implemented it would have to be with random raffles, not related with number of reports from members.
That means that anyone with good reports could win this reward, not only members with most reports.

Even making good reports isn't that hard if you go to the right boards.

I only report posts in topic and boards I usually read, not really hunting for reports  
My report accuracy is currently 97%

You can be 100% sure that some people would create alts whose only job would be to shitposts, so they can their report those postys with their main account. Whatever can be abused around here will be abused.

It is good that he did not actually begging in public place and did not asked any merit source to review their posts. Instead, they want the forum staffs to review their posts which make sense to them. 

I know this is funny, but from a newbie members perspective, probably he thought this is the correct way to report it for merits. LOL. I am sure he would lose his ability to report if they were on the other forum. But luckily, they are on BitcoinTalk and they would be able to report as long as they want.

Very weird behavior and fastest way to earn low report accuracy, I guess he thought it was the fastest way to gain my attention since I'm active on the report page.

Just kidding. I don't know if that user is a newbie. If they are newbie, probably they did not understand the purpose of the report to moderator button. But if they are some kind of established member or they have been around for some time, then probably they thought this is the quick way to get attention from the moderators as they handle the reports.

Probably true, but it doesn't really matter because ''winner'' would be selected randomly, and reward should be only symbolic.
No big money means no big cheater, and I doubt anyone would go through all the hustle to cheat with reports if they could get banned as a warning
