With or without Elon Musk, Dogecoin is here to stay. Yes the coin will stay, but the price isn't as it's subject to market volatility due to certain events whether bullish or bearish. The thing is that we can't control the market right now no matter which coin or token are we holding (with the exception of stablecoins). Since DOGE has no fundamentals but rather a funny meme coin, it would depend on the massive adoption like Mark Cuban's Dallas Mavericks for merchandise and ticket sales.

Elon Musk has had quite a strong impact on the cost of Dogecoin, this was recognized by everyone in the cryptocurrency market.

Dogecoin had been on mainstream even before Elon Musk became rich and famous. They had an active volunteer development team and a lot of support as a meme coin.
Though his vocal support made it regain it's position and reach top 5 again, Dogecoin has always been around even without Elon. They were still a popular coin in gambling sites, a popular tipping coin and one often used for transfers as the fees were lows and transaction fast.

Of course, no one has the right to manipulate the market but these filthy rich men often do. And Elon simply belongs to them. He has hyped dogecoin and eventually see its price starts to surge high in the market. But i do believe that even without Elon, dogecoin will still survive. Even if you don't like it, it can't be avoided.
Elon can be said to have it all and market manipulation like this is very easy for him to do, despite much opposition but nothing can stop it.

Survive, that is an interesting term. My take is that it will keep existing with our without Elon as there is a sufficient number of users, it is listed in several exchanges and I am sure there are some big holders that are interested in keeping the chain alive. Which brings a interesting question, how low or how little known does a coin have to be to be considered extinct? Are transactions really that expensive in dogecoin blockchain? According to google they around 60 cents. That is not much when people transfer thousands and much more. People are used to an old believe, that transactions in crypto are cheap and you can transfer million worth crypto and pay less than $1 for it. These times are gone long time ago.
