Hi all,   i was wondering,   what are the top sources i should be keeping an eye on, to spot future trends such as shib and cardano?

As im pretty novice, and not up to date on things,   i only learn about certain coins when they start hitting exchanges and mainstream news etc,
by which time it is usually already 'too late'.

So what 3 sources should i keep in a pinned tab, and keep my eyes on daily, to catch early coins ?

here you go

icodrop, cryptorank

That's not a problem. There were so many newbies like you and what you need to do to learn more about that. So many legit projects were starting from the ICO. You must be an early investor of it to get the hype when the project will be pumped so high. what you can do to join when it was doing early stage sale.

So what 3 sources should i keep in a pinned tab, and keep my eyes on daily, to catch early coins ?
Just keep your eyes on the ico list site that I have mentioned above especially icodrop.
So many big platforms ADA, Solana, Polygon were getting listed there when those projects launched their ICO sale.

In my experience, I use Twitter with multiple keywords based on hashtags. Another way, I joined Telegram group, but this was not just joining the telegram group from stranger, but a group where one of my friends knew the members and quality of the group. However, this way does not guarantee a 100% legit project. so you have to be careful if you follow the channel/group/socmed account early tokens/project. The worst thing is that you are trapped in a token scam that compromises your address.

Mostly my info was coming from or source in this forum. about new projects that might perform better in the future, I believe most of the successful crypto players today are using the BitcoinTalk forum to publish their funding requirements through ICO, IEO, and many more. I don't think any crypto-related forums can surpass BitcoinTalk as a top source of crypto-related information, especially for brand new projects.

So what 3 sources should i keep in a pinned tab, and keep my eyes on daily, to catch early coins ?

There is no source that can give you a profit when you invest, but some information about new altcoins undergoing IEO can be seen on top exchanges like Binance, some other sources of information such as IDO can be seen from other exchange partners like Solanium who are currently running IDO on the network. SOL, but it's all your decision, no new altcoins or projects give you financial advice when they do IDO or IEO, because all is the decision of potential investors.

ofcourse ofcourse,   i didnt mean sources for advise,   i just meant,   sources, knowledge wise ...    as it all start with beeing informed, which im currently not

ive been looking around on the 2 sites suggested, i see that they basically just list projects, and the funding of the projects themselves, happen on several different platforms, and those platforms all seem pretty complicated and confusing to me for now ..  you need some other token first,   and then stake it, and then only the x largest stakers get an actual something , etc idk ....   im still very confused...    so im going to do some more investigating, and then i'll surely be back here with some questions regarding specifics etc, regarding IDO/ICO stuff.

thx for the info so far tho,   as it is definitely a first step in the right direction

If you talk about trends, then you need to pay more attention to the crypto space starting with twitter, you can start by following top projects, developers and even Influencers but be careful with especially Influencers. Trends in crypto is best utilized when one joins early, and just like NFT that is currently trending now, those who were fast enough to get involved at the early stage benefited a lot.
Now, from current trends you will be able to get into early coins, this is because many blockchain networks will bank on that current trend and developers will look out for ideas to build on, taking the NFT as an example too, I think ADA ecosystem started it first and gradually Solana picked up the pace and today a lot of these projects are growing on Solana blockchain, and where some are new tokens others happened to be old tokens which looked for ways to tap into what NFT offers.
So in other words, try as much as you can to get hold of any crypto trend, join on time and grow with it, the more it goes on the more you grow in more knowledge of it, thus making the most out of it while benefiting hugely.

There are too many sources that I joined and I am gathering information and conclude as one, joining a telegram group that talks about trading and joining the discord group of trading. And most of all a community like this that talk about crypto development projects, you can go to the altcoin announcement section, if those who are actively keeping update are most likely they have potential when it comes investment. Join different communities regarding altcoins and you will have info about those trending altcoins that are good to invest an early stage but be careful with the hype.

@OP

You should start learning from the basics, not jumping into IDO/ICO. You need to figure out how the cryptocurrencies spaces look like, if you still lacking of basic knowledge and are tempted to find the hidden game in the hope to become an early investor, then I doubt your possibility to find any solid project is low. Even I'm sure if you haven't figured out the fundamental of cryptocurrency and what it is all about, the chance you are getting scammed or lured by shitcoins is significant. Try to play it safe with a solid project like Bitcoin rather than jumping out to find a quick cash opportunity.

I suggest you look at @Ratimov post:

Use those blog websites of different exchanges, they're announcing there first what will be the next altcoin that will be listed to them. You have to visit them most of the time so that you're going to see what will be the latest addition to their exchange.

Having that idea then you'll get to be updated on what will be the newest altcoins that are likely to pump on their exchange upon listing. Join also different groups on social media platforms. I've known shib when it was said by someone voluntarily in a certain crypto group (not a pump and dump group).

I dont usually check out aside from those IEO,ICO announcements that i do see and whenever it do caught caught my attention then i do tend to check it out if its really worth for me to invest on or not.

Dont easily get fooled whenever there's some hype.Always check out on what are the things should be checked on and this is something would be hard and cant really be known easily.

Some sites being mentioned by other members here are relevant and could be considered though.

May I entice you to check on Stakenet's multiple staking solutions that provide an option for everyone, no matter how much XSN (the native coin of Stakenet) they own or their technical expertise. There is no limit to how much XSN you need to begin staking so you could start with just 1 XSN if you wish.
These are the Staking options that Stakenet provide:
- XSN Cloud Pooled Staking
- Normal Wallet Staking
- Cold Staking (TPoS)
For more information, check out their official site: stakenet.io

Actually, it's not that you are "too late" but rather just hesitant to decide quickly. Either, a) it's a product of a hype b) anticipating price will decrease just later on c) don't have enough budget to make an entry.

So what 3 sources should i keep in a pinned tab, and keep my eyes on daily, to catch early coins ?

That was tough. Sometimes those who are catching early coins are risk-takers. You can also try to check some recent projects who are currently doing some ICOs, IPOs, IDOs, or any kinds of startups on those ICO checker websites then from there, follow them patiently.

ive been looking around on the 2 sites suggested, i see that they basically just list projects, and the funding of the projects themselves, happen on several different platforms, and those platforms all seem pretty complicated and confusing to me for now ..  you need some other token first,   and then stake it, and then only the x largest stakers get an actual something , etc idk ....   im still very confused...    so im going to do some more investigating, and then i'll surely be back here with some questions regarding specifics etc, regarding IDO/ICO stuff.

That's a good start. Familiarizing things and how's the stuff there.

With continuous activity and building experience, you will learn automatically how to hunt coins. It's not something that you need a source or reference before you can decide on what coins you will risk your precious money.

Correct, come back regarding questions about ICO stuff so that somehow you can see the pulse of the community.

On your own words you are confessing that you are pretty new to all of this, so I will say to you to stay away of those coins, you simply do not have what is necessary to tell apart a good project from a bad one.

This is probably not what you want to hear but you must concentrate on bitcoin only until you get some profits out of it, after all if you cannot make profits with the best coin in the market then what chances you actually have of choosing the right coin that is at its earliest stages? Almost none, which means that you will just waste your money.

i know,   that exactly why im trying to acquire the knowledge here ...   (as opposed to just googling, and running from one scam into another)
We all have to start somewhere, sometime ...     .   this is my attempt at just that

EDIT:   to clarify,  not trying to acquire the knowledge of which is a good or a bad project,   but acquire the knowledge of how to tell the 2 apart, based on knowledge of the whole ecosystems and workflows and usecases etc etc etc

All you need is coinmarketcap's ICO tracker: https://coinmarketcap.com/ico-calendar/

This will allow you to be in the action quite early on.

However, just be aware that alts suffer from extremely high survivorship bias in the sense that it is almost impossible to pick the winners from early on. Nobody has a crystal ball, so I suggest that instead of getting hyped over one project, you diversify quite a bit.

Personally I get to know about new projects and coins from my friends and just from different crypto groups on Telegram. There are many chats where people who are full-time in crypto share with subscribers different new projects and share their opinion as well. Those projects are so new usually, that you can participate only in airdrop, but if you really like this project you can invest in it later.

1. Telegram channel
2. Twitter.
3. bitcointalk forums.
from these 3 sources alone you can get new altcoins every day, but it must be remembered that a big risk awaits you when investing in new altcoins, it is never too late actually if we invest in altcoins that are already big because the fundamentals will be strong and will not be destroyed in time overnight, in contrast to a new project which at any time could have no value.

When a coin is getting hyped then you can find them everywhere and also it has good chance to give returns to the early investors meanwhile not every project which is getting hyped is worth to invest in the long term so source is still your analysis than any external source and better stick with existing coins than new one if you are not willing to lose your capital.

i know,   that exactly why im trying to acquire the knowledge here ...

I can't quite get what you mean. But I assume you want to learn the reasoning about how to differ at the cryptocurrencies project right?

Here's my advice, try to learn the fundamentals first. What I mean is start from the basics like what it is all about Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc. You should start from the top of the most reliable and usable project. Cryptocurrencies space is filled with shitcoins and copy-pasta coins that offer none of the usability. By getting a grasp of Bitcoin/ any solid project in general, you should be able to comprehend why that project comes out to the top.
